Great Friday review by Eric and Ernie , great content and format for reviews, well done as usual, as for the car looks ok wish cold weather range would be better probably not going to be much above 100 miles in winter. I bet mostly used for short journeys which kills EVs in winter.

Theres a 64kW budget eNiro now. Full 250 mile reach....so you dont even need to compromise on range. I had a shortlist of Mokka, EC4 or eNiro2 Long Range. Went for the Kia and happy with the choice. Only issue 20 week wait for delivery!.

Good review. Test drove same colour top spec version my self a few weeks ago. Never looked at vauxhall before (they never interested me) but the Mokka did... However..... I'm not a tall person and the rear view mirror was an obstruction to my 11 o clock viewing angle, I could have dropped my seat lower, but then what's the point of having a higher seating position. Otherwise If it wasn't for the viewing obstruction, it was going to be short listed.

I tried the mokka but I chose the mg zs better equipped and a better driving experience, plus the disinterest of vauxhall dealers with their ",its there, buy it or not" attitude. nearly 2000 miles later in the ZS no problems it has bedded in well and does everything I want. plus £7000 cheaper and better all round.

Well I actually bought one of these with actual cash - in silver (well they call it grey) as I prefer its looks over the other car I was considering (Peugeot 2008). I really don't care one way or the other about the gloss black bits and have been getting ~200 miles to a full charge which I think is pretty good going for such a small battery. The only thing I don't like about it is that Android Auto doesn't actually work unless your phone uses an old version (v9) of Android, which is a bit shit. Oh and I'm beginning to think the "lane keep assist" is actually trying to kill me.

well I've got the 2022 model with a slightly different battery and I have to say its a pleasure to drive its comfortable quite not much road noise from the wheels
the range isn't too bad as I've got mine in the winter I went 10 miles and used 18 miles of range as I had everything turned on the heated seats the heater the heated steering wheel the massage the heated rear screen wipers and lights and the radio of course so I was impressed as I thought it would have took a lot more power out of the battery than it did I left the regen off as well so yes I was impressed as I only go short journeys its the perfect car for me but for long distance over a hundred miles I would suggest something bigger like the MG but I know it will get me to the isle of wight once a year for my holiday from Warwickshire I would put some charge in half way to make sure as I have driven many types of cars in my career this new mokka passes all my expectations now it's not a sports car if you want a car to drive normally then this car is for you but if you want to grow it around corners yes it will do it just but it's not a sports car now I did a 0 to 60 start and I kept on getting under 8 seconds around 7.4 seconds to 60 so its no slouch but its no sports car it is on par to my last vehicle a 2019 seat leon fr estate 1.6 turbo 150hp so I was impressed but the top speed isn't I got mine on a private track 99 miles an hour where the leon does well in excess of 130 mph so there yo have what its like to own one I am glad I bought one the cons is it has a small boot but with the seats down there is plenty of room oh and I love the massage seat its brill.

Why do so many people want an EV, that doesn’t need to look like an ICE car, that looks like an ICE car? It’s exactly the same as expecting a diesel locomotive to look like a steam one or a motor car to look like a horse and carriage? Does It demonstrate their lack of intellectual capability? Is it a refusal to admit that time passes? Or is it a marketing ploy by car manufacturers who have a surplus of ICE car body shells they need to use? Or even the merely the motoring equivalent of NIMBYs?

Race at the end - people outside looking in would wonder what you were doing, and hope it wasn't what it looked like! - - When you mock something, you make fun of it, so that car must be a joke - who on remains to be seen! - - I believe that what most people really want is a simple car, without all the computery gimmicks to go wrong, and reliable mechanical levers and buttons, so you don't have to scroll through menus and fiddle with touch screens that need you to look down - away from the road - while you try to turn things on or off!

So we have had a petrol automatic Mokka for 12 months. So the lane control is a pain. Getting in the back is another issue. So kids will be ok but if your an adult you will have issues getting in and out. We have the keyless entry. We have given up on this as it is so temperamental. Then one big issue is when we go to open the car with the key fob. We find the car will not open. The key fob stops working. So we have a trick now to get round this. We have to open and close the boot. Which I am guessing because we have keyless entry it allows us to do this. Then the key fob comes back to life. We can now open the car with the key fob. The car has been back 7 times to the dealer. Still not fixed.

I'm on the same page with the whole SUV thing. But at least with the Mokka when other people buy them they aren't offensive to look at (Nissan Puke). I pretty much agreed with your review of the Corsa-e, not a bad looking car but not very exciting to look at either, so when you see the Mokka, you wonder why they couldn't have applied some of the styling onto the Corsa. Oh and re the Vauxhall/Ford thing, Fords are just low budget Vauxhalls. And when it comes to front wheel drive Escorts v Astras, the Astra is streets ahead.

Why should you buy this instead of someone else?
But it goes without saying - DESIGN... the appearance of the outside and inside and the dashboard and that it has very good road holding and brakes - even if you don't notice it when you drive normally, it is better than several other competitors in safe road characteristics - if that being tested.
Steering wheel and levers are from Opel, not Peugeot and are therefore superior in function.
Matrix headlights with very good function which are not expensive.
The basic technology is good, the major faults are that the electronics come from Peugeot and therefore there are several faults in classic Peugeot fashion.
It also has side airbags in the back seat, which is unusual in this price and size class - a detail that practically everyone misses.
Crash safety is really good - if you avoid sitting close to the steering wheel.
And the hood is damped and opens by itself half way, nice detail.
It is simply the combination of all this - minus the electronics from the Peugeot - that is the reason to choose it over another - if you don't take design into account, you miss the whole point.

I appreciate that style is very subjective...
Peugeot e-208 versus the e-Corsa...? The e-208 is a better looking car in my eyes, all day long.
But, e-2008 versus Mokka e....? You know what, I'd have the Mokka... From too-many angles, I think the e-2008 is kinda trying too hard... the front, in particular, to me looks almost too 'blunt' and those exaggeratedly long DRLs just seem overkill...!
Having said that, I wouldn't have EITHER of them...
In fact, I simply don't get the whole "I want an SUV / crossover because I want a higher seating position" thing - the difference between the maximum driver's seat height in the Mokka versus that in the Zoe is 9mm... yep... less than 1 cm...! There's absolutely no way that a 9mm extra seat height is going to make ANY difference at all... yet it costs you more, you lose range efficiency and suffer worse body-control / ride comfort by having an SUV.
And, since you mentioned the base iD3 as a competitor, the maximum driver's seat height in that car is actually 3.4cm HIGHER than than that in the Mokka...!
    Still want an SUV...????? :-0

Its a compact SUV/Crossover so deserves to be consigned to hell. It has inadequate boot space, the entertainment system appears to be powered by a CPU designed c.2005, masses of cheap gloss black plastic and not enough space in rears for adults with legs.
Then the driving experience is poor (I loved the demonstration of how the steering wheel was barely connected to the wheels).
I can (barely) forgive its lack of size, after all it is just a supermini with bigger wheels. But fundamentally it is like all too many Vauxhalls - just not good enough

No one likes the gloss black ever ... It looks good for about 20 mins

As a fleet manager of 50 Vauxhall Astra ICE, over a 3 year life cycle some 40% at any given time where off the road due to mechanical failure. Dealerships were unable to repair to a shortage of parts and a indifference by the manufacturer resulted in moving another manufacturer.
I would not deal with Vauxhall on any level and would not trust them to build a reliable wheelbarrow. They do not understand the concept customer service. Vauxhall and electricity 😳😳
