I am from Poland and some might say that topics which Trevor discuss are not directed to me, but the way he paints the picture of the issue he discribe, his perspective and how he talks with people taught me a lot. Not only about USA but about people, life and politics in general. And I admire his attitude to other persons. He shows that even if we all have different opinions we still can talk with each other, respect each other and live side by side. He and his show lifts my spirit each time I watch it. Thank you for all that you do Trevor!

Yes and I also think that the United States is ready to receive the perspective of someone who did not grow up here. He and his family are so open and so caring with each other - I think we recognize the power of that and how much we have lost that ... and long for it again. Families have literally been torn apart by 4 years of Trump and his divisiveness.

Its worth mentioning that black comics having been pushing the line for decades to make this possible. Like if you go watch some of Richard Prior's interviews after he first got clean, it is clear how he is pushing the line between towards realness and away from respectability politics. That being said I entirely agree, Trevor is absolutely brilliant. He is hands down my favorite comedian, and probably my favorite public figure as well. His book helped me understand my childhood in a way years of therapy prepared me for, but couldn't actually accomplish.

It's generational, repetitive, taught misogyny that plays on the natural aspects of our humanity and divides us from birth.
From 'run like a girl' to 'well, what was she wearing'...
And if anyone tries to tweak that narrative rn, THEY are part of the INDOCTRINATION... as if it hadn't already existed in its current form... well, for now...

Speaking of funerals and Trevor's grandma, a beautiful beautiful lady, when my aunt Beatriz died a few yrs ago in Puerto Rico I wrote a piece depicting how happy we, the family she loved so much and loved her even more, were that night as contradictory as it may sound.
There were family members that love and care for each other so much but that at the same time rarely have a chance to express that love personally, mainly bc a lot of them live in different parts of the USA, and my aunt's passing made it all possible as a last testament of her inmense love for us all. Again, as contradictory as it certainly sounds. Most of us spent the night hugging each other at every turn, sitting next to each other holding hands or caressing one's hair or face telling each other how much "I love you" or "how much I miss you".
It was such a special night, full of love and beautiful moments for our family that I'm sure none of us will ever forget, in spite of the pain and that sense of loss we were all experiencing. At the end of the night I ended up thanking my aunt for that last happy moment together.

My father passed after two years battling cancer when I was 16. At the funeral, there were all these older people who were sad, but us kids were upbeat, talking to friends, smiling. It was all about perspective. We knew the end had been coming for a while. We saw him suffer. So while we weren't happy to lose him, we were glad he had passed on. It was a relief, for him and us.

Because people tend to look in familiar places for talent, if you don't set out to look for diverse talent the system will sometimes ensure that you don't find it due to built-in blind spots.

I was at an extra class in the school called alpha academy in Jamaica and I just finished an IT class and I was just waiting for my grandmother to pick me up at the time this is around 2017 or so. And I caught a glimpse of a student watching the daily show in the lab. So then I tapped him on the shoulder and I was like "hey what's that you watching?" He says "oh yes The daily show it's a really hilarious but poignant late night TV show" so then I came home that day and I said let me check a few of these videos out and see what this is all about. 5 years later and I am still hooked and love the show.

In 2020, my friends were (planning to) treat me to an early birthday gift of seeing Trevor in Huntsville, AL. Unfortunately, COVID-19 happened. I live alone, didn't know a lot of people here, & was truly afraid of contracting COVID. The Daily Show got me through (I laughed a lot). I didn't feel so alone. It's because of Trevor I became a poll worker. I wanted to participate but didn't know how. I continue it today & will be working the poll tomorrow! Thank you Trevor & team! 💖💖

When my grandfather died, everyone in the extended family brought food, and it just became funny. We couldn't begin to eat it all. Fortunately, it was late October in Ohio, so we could use the "Florida room" as a kind of refrigerator. (That's a screened in patio - a reference to the "snowbirds".)

That's another thing I like about The daily show like being able to you know interview people that you wouldn't have heard about in the mainstream media normally and it's giving a voice to the smaller people the smaller creators out there and that's a really big thing to do because I wouldn't even know about some of these shows or some of these books if it wasn't for daily show

I much preferred the home-based, televised (frankly, You Tube) shows in hoodies to the suit-and-tie-wearing, live audience more scripted shows. Having said that, I appreciate the show's evolution; it's better than before covid times because Trevor's authenticity and emotional connectedness to the topics/subject matter and guests seems a lot easier for him to access.
