You can’t judge this kit on the bad recording quality on this clip, it makes it sound terrible. In reality it sounds so much better and very realistic - don’t let this clip put you off.
True. Apart from the shitty sound quality, why does she only play these useless electronic sounds? I don't get it.
Excellent demo - thanks.
One question, Roland.
What happened to the nice chrome boom stands from advertising to the set that I got?
The drums are awesome, but no boom stands for the cymbals.
TD-17KVX owner.

The drumming is awesome. A pal bought a TD 17 kit and using it for shows.
This kit sounds better then this demo for sure....i own these and am thrilled with the sounds.....Although i dont find use for all of the drum kits but i have created some of my own through uploading samples and layering....The bluetooth is awesome too
Still have my pearl-Zildjian 6 piece accoustic kit. But I have have my td17 kvx for 6 weeks and I absolutely love this kit..it’s very sturdy and it sounds great with the Roland KS 400 amp..I would definitely Recommend this kit..👍👍🙏✌️
Excellent
Question: can I use this module with Roland triggers on my acoustic set?
Can you use your own samples from the computer instead of the stock ones? And if yes, how do you do that?
Set mine up two days ago and it sounds so much better than what you hear here. I upgraded from an Alesis dm7x so the td-17kvx is a major improvement. My only complaint so far is the bell on the ride cymbal is weak. You have to hit it was quite hard to get the bell sound. I need to see if I can assign one of the tom rims to produce a cymbal bell sound, it might be better.
Tell me which remote you have next to the hi-hat?
Is this actually multi-layered samples or is it synthesised? To my ears none of these sound as good as my 2Box Drumit Five, even just with the in-built samples.....
or the Pearl mimic pro ....
They use samples. Not sure where dude gets his info
No these are not multi-layered samples, only 1 shot samples. The TD17 does not have the ability to load in multi-layered samples.
Sure the 2box Drumit 5/3 sound a lot better I have the TD17 and 2box Drumit 3 module.
GIMMIE THEM GODDAMN DRUMZ !!!!!!!

There is something wrong with the recorded audio from the kit.
for sure.
Can you use brushes on this kit?
EJ Nova Seriously?
Nopw
Yes, you can.
I have these drums. There is something off on the sound of this video for sure. Not even sure why they would post this, seems like its going to do more harm then good.
Simmons SDS forever
Enzo Averoldi Forever all times!!!💯👍
Actually I don't understand why peaple are complaining about bad sound? Dude, this kit has more than 300 sounds! It is pretty sure that you can find the wich will be fine for you....
Báb Déli For sure man. I actually really like the sounds. I mean the video actually has bad audio of the drums when compared to the other demos. But for the price it sounds excellent. To me.
MrEmanthedrummer I agree. I think that most of these whine bags are bandwagon hating because they either can't afford a Roland kit or they bought something different. .
I disagree. If you been playing drums for a while, it is extremely noticeable the difference between acoustic vs electronic. Also, if you add in all e-drums have to offer, an acoustic kit with a lot of top of the line cymbals and shells will cost you pretty much the same. I think people are hating (like myself, and I do it unintentionally) because we want electronic kits to feel and sound awesome. Acoustic drums are a pain in the ass for a lot of reasons and you usually can´t play them inside your own house for obvious reasons.
Testing One Two Three The main advantage of e-drums is you can practice at home relatively stilly. That is an unrealistic expectation that an e-drum must have the voice of an acustic drum. And honestly: there are a lot of acoustic drums with bad sound. E-drums a realy good comprimise to have a kit at home you can play on and the FEEL (not sound) of playing is near to acoustic ones... this kit sure can do that. It is enough for me. But not everyone must have the same opinion. 😎
Thanx for not ripping my head off. lol I´ll go check this one out. Have you tried the Pearl Mimic Kit (or whatever its called) ?
I´ve been struggling for ages wether or not I should buy e-drums. I want to perceive it as a practice tool but the industry tries to sell it to you as a replacement for the real thing. Sorry, maybe that will never happen. E drums should look cooler, be cable free and be physically identical to acoustic drums (*maybe this last option has sort of been achieved but still...)
Have not seen an electronic drum kit demo utilizing user samples. Does anyone even do that?
Evan Keal I wish they did but I have imported a few into my Strike module along with quite a few others. It's different than Roland allows though. The Strike allows for multi layer samples where Roland only allows for one shot samples so you wouldn't get the full benefit of sample import using a Roland.
SiREN2173 not sure what one shot vs layered means. Is that like polyphony to a synth? Or the different volume/impact levels and locations of the stick hits, One vs many?
Evan Keal exactly
The kit is a great way to practice even in a small apartment without disturbing anybody. The kit doesn´t sound like a real drum kit....well some sounds are closer to the real thing than some other sounds but overall it doesn´t sound bad at all. If you go to a studio to make a record or if you do a serious concert, of course, you use a real acoustic kit. But for a band rehearsals, small gigs, playing on a wedding or birthday parties or just practice....this kit will do a great job. There are actually many occasions when this electronic kit is better and much easier to carry and use than the acoustic kit.
Its sad that i jad to go to sam ash and find out that the new KD10 has to be bought seperate
Separate from what? Check out the TD-17KVX - you need to supply your own hi-hat stand and base drum kick-pedal but it comes with everything else. Word of warning - the TD-17KVX comes with two different stands - don't get the 'COMPACT' stand if you want more flexibility for positioning your cymbals.
I need to work on being a better drummer fuuuuuchhk
>reverb demo
>90% talking
oh dear
lol the audio on this video is crushed and highpassed
“People don’t want to mess with cables.”
too bad they couldn't tell the other drum rooms adjacent to her to shut up for 10 mins... on headphones you hear the distraction of other drummers... ha.. come on roland..
No one will buy that kit if it sounds like that haha!
Moist
Sounds terrible
it sounds sooo BAD! awful actually
really ? what do you prefer thank ? TD17KL or DTX 522 ?
I really don't understand the point of having a whole electric drum kit like wtf is that point? No way that can be cheaper to make then real drums.
Vincent Salamatino it’s quiet dude.
Quiet, compact, no mics required... there are a variety of reasons.
record in my condo without the cops called on me. Play all hours of the day/ night. That alone is more than enough reason for me.
we can't all play acoustic drums some of us live in apartments that would evict us if we played acoustic drums
Tinny plastic sound same old crap
awful posture and stiff wrists, u need to relax a bit girl :)
Why does this demo sound so very bad? Why would you post this? JFC
Same lame samples...I will keep my Allegra's
terrible presentation (too much talking), terrible drummer (posture, grip, feel), the module actually sounds awesome but not in this video (something went wrong with the audio?)
