- Have you ever been given a ‘safety briefing’ on how to be safe around camels?
When I first got into camels I was surprised at how many camel owners had no idea about how to stay safe around camels - it was kinda concerning!
Most people don’t know how camels can accidentally injure someone, that is until an accident happens.
Given the camel’s size, it’s super important to know how to keep yourself safe while being around them.
Camels don’t know their own size, so it’s up to YOU to know how to keep yourself safe (and not make the camel feel bad for accidentally hurting you *winks*).
Learn something new about camels and watch the video now on How To Keep Yourself Safe Around Camels.

Want to say thank you on video of giving a shot to camel and safety. Peanut the camel got an absess in his foot and needed antibiotics. We did ur method and did better for camel and us. Vet didn't do ur way and peanut was happy. So it went well thanks so very much!!
In somalia, even young kids rare it, milk it and water it. We keep camel as traditional assest inheritted from ancestors!! We are very proud to be camel keepers
I loved hearing about your culture - thanks for sharing!
Very interesting and informative but I'm astonished that you did not mention anything about camel bites. Sometime ago I heard that camel bites were a common cause of serious head injuries in Egypt.
Camel's bite in defence. From what I've seen of camels used in tourism they often are overstimulated and misunderstood and tend to get on the defensive side
This was so helpful! I love camels so much, but I'll admit their size is a bit daunting, which is why your channel is so helpful for me so I can learn how to safely interact with them. Another great video Tara!
SO glad you're enjoying the videos! I'm a tiny human and now I see camel's as "Big Dogs"... I don't see their size anymore, but still have a healthy fear of camels, because I know they can be dangerous.
Although i am from arabic region, i have learned alot. Very helpful
❤
So why does a camel tilt their head back and open their mouth? Im a pool guy and i have a client who has a camel. Itll come up to the fence, smell me then tilt the head back, opening the mouth
That pretty common. There's lots of factors. If you wear a potent deodorant anything like that they'll do this. It's to do with overstimulation of smell. Who knows, could be the chlorine?! 🙂
The bites are more occurring and dangerous too…
Camel's will bite in defensive
Can camels make you sick?
Touching camels or being around infected camels or their body fluids (milk, feces/poop, urine/pee, saliva/spit, etc.) can increase a person's chances of becoming infected with MERS-CoV. Common MERS symptoms include fever, cough, and shortness of breath. Some people also get diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting.
It’s not a problem in Australia
Youre neverbsafe around thrm they are very unoredictable
They are unpredictable if you don't take the time to understand camels in general. I'm much more inclined to trust a camel over a human. hahaha
Too mucu talking. Skip
