I was in Croatia about a month ago and have been to Plitvice Lakes, so beautiful! Landed in Zagreb though so it was a little closer. After a few days my group travelled toward Hvar Islands, Split (via Ston) and into Dubrovnik and Montenegro (Kotor) It was unforgettable! So glad I found this video, this will constantly remind me of this beautiful country. Thanks guys…

15:00, Oh I am sorry that your slippers is broken. The slippers can break sometimes easily when you go out. Slippers is only at home. You should wear crocs, so that it's not gonna break. For me, I wear crocs to go out and it's good.

You shoud go to KRKA falls as well, there you can swim. Only 1 hour drive from Split. And about 30 minutes is Omis town a nice sandy beach andyou can climb the mountain with good view.

13:10 Holy heck those prices 😮 Even for a Finnish that is expensive af. You might just visited the most expensive restaurant in Split. But the city sure is lovely, also the much modern city center. I lived there during COVID and it sure were a nice city.
Yeaa it was! But had to try it out cus our friend recommended it ☺️ and ohh thats so cool, wonder how it was like during covid?
@@JanandAnn Definitely not like that.... All the cafes and restaurants were closed so it was maybe a bit too boring. Only thing to do was to walk on the boulevard 😅 But the rental apartments were cheap.

hey Jan & Ann, such a wonderful vid as always!! especially loved the commentary :) curious question for you guys - when traveling, do you ever feel a sense of sonder when you pass by so many strangers. when watching your vids, I always think about what kind of lives the passerby are living, so just curious if y'all have ever experienced something similar
Tickets are expensive because there are too many visitors. UNESCO has threatened to remove the Plitvice Lakes from its list if the number of visitors does not decrease. Despite the increase in ticket prices, the number of visitors increased. The Croatian Ministry of Tourism is in a dilemma as to how to reduce the number of visitors.
Jan you seemed to lose a lot of weight, is it because of travelling? Looking good both of you!
I’ve actually started running alot prior to our European trip! Lost 15 lbs before this trip and still run as my daily exercise even when travelling 😊

If the Koreans and Japanese Visitors can pay for the plane tickets to come and see these 16 lakes and approximately 200 waterfalls, both big and small,it's definitely worth it.....4-5 hours of walking through untouched primeval nature, a unique personal union with nature.
In spring and autumn, the Plitvice Lakes are the richest in water and the experience of waterfalls is the most intense. Especially about two days after it rains, when the underground wave releases the water, the flow down the falls is even more abundant. At the foot of the Veliko slap there is tufa that is protected, which is why it is forbidden to walk under the waterfall and outside the marked paths. In winter, the waterfall is almost completely frozen, creating a wonderful ice sculpture of enormous proportions........like Plitvice Visit over the Winter... Natur is the most Beautiful Artist then

19:21, What? It's the 1st and last day in Split, Croatia to stay for a few days and nights?
When I was 10 (20 years ago), the ticket to Plitvice was 2 eur lol. I was thinking about getting a couple of friends together and going there again, but I'm not giving 40 eur for that.
price for it depends on your age and time of the year you are visiting. kids pay much less for ticket but during summer season its much higher price for everyone. it also depends if you are visiting early in the morning or afternoon.
chepeast is to visit from december to march
which can be also amazing if parts of it freeze and its snowing.
