Considering the fact that Susan Tully (the original Michelle) has declined every offer to return to the show, the producers had no choice but to recast the role. Personally I think it's great to see her back in the Square. She's been away much too long. Hopefully she'll stick around for a while.
While Jenna Russell is a fine actress, it was one of EEs biggest mistakes recasting Michelle. Susan Tully owned the role too much for it to be re cast. Its like recasting Grant or Dot. I think EE realised the blunder they made as Jenna didn't stay long and her stint is thankfully forgotten!
