Johnny Carter's worst nightmare came true when tragedy struck in the Queen Vic. He has been feeling the pressure since becoming involved in the coverup of Keanu Taylor's murder.
Linda Carter stabbed Keanu to death to save her best friend Sharon Watts. The group, known as "The Six", worked with Johnny to frame Dean Wicks for the murder.
However, when Linda panicked before her pre-trial meeting, Johnny plied her with alcohol to calm her nerves. This backfired when the prosecutor refused to put her on the stand.
Aware that if Dean got off, the investigation into Keanu's murder would reopen, Johnny tried to get Linda reinstated as a witness.
Bernie Taylor, who believes Sharon is the real killer, visited Linda and guilt-tripped her, leading her to nearly confess. When Johnny intervened, a vicious row erupted, and Johnny revealed he wished Linda had died instead of Mick.
Devastated, Linda turned to the bottle again. Downstairs, Johnny apologized to Sharon, who assured him he was a caring son. But when Johnny went back upstairs, he found Linda choking on her own vomit.
Gina Knight rushed in and urged Johnny to call an ambulance, leaving the fate of Linda unknown.
