This stuff tastes like a step back in time to Grandma's house.
Time for more delicious chow chow.
Yes it is, I cant wait to make a new batch I'm almost out. Thank you Wendy!!! :)
Saved this to watch later. I haven't seen chow chow since I lived in NC. My mom loved this on pinto beans.
that's where we live N.C

I have never heard of chow chow but i wanna try making it. It looks good! 😊
its basically country relish, but it goes great with burgers, beans, Bbq and so much more, We love it. THANK YOU for commenting
MB Heritage Farms ooh got! Ill try it and your welcome 😊
Hey Nice job on the Chow Chow ! I Made some last year and still have some left ! Nice Job ! Have A Great Day !
We are almost already out lol. We are going to have to make some more. Michael eats it with everything.
looks tasty 👏👏👏👏👍
Thank you so much 👍
Amazing how similar our recipes are, even down to the Domino Sugar. I just posted my 8 Generation Family Recipe in 2 Videos a couple weeks ago. My Dad was from North Carolina. My last Small Farm was in Warren County, NC 6 years ago. 💜💜💜 Much Love. 🤟🏽 Auntie Ellen
Its CRAZY how North Carolinians made sure their Chow Chow recipe didnt change much from person to person, it has it own distinct flavor, most people in NC prefer it be very close to the same recipe for an obvious reason. Its the best dawg gone chow chow on the planet ;)
Dang it! I CANNOT make this now, I DONT HAVE a shimmer and shine cup!!!
It's crucial to the receipe. lol :-)
Good recipe video. I tired some of None ya Texas on the back 20.
We are going to make some when garden starts putting out.
Do you water bath filled jars?
Yes for chow chow its just water bath. so for the delay but this comment was held, silly YT
😂😂😂 couldn’t stop laughing at the “shimmer and shine cup optional”. I’ve never tried the chow chow before, do you eat it on its own or is it a side dish?
Both, its tasty relish that goes great with beans, burgers, bbq and most anything! Thank you for stopping by and commenting. We are gonna try that Apple cobbler recipe of yours!!
WOW!!!!!! I'll be making this tomorrow. So, no making the veggies sit in the refrig overnight?? Sounds like my kind of recipe.
You most definitely will not be disappointed. It's a staple in the house. 🥰
@@MBHeritageFarms Very tasty. Thanks for sharing!!
This stuff is amazing stuff. Thanks for sharing this, y’all need to join our #LetsCan collaboration and join the playlist check it out. Blessings
Thank you A BUNCH, we love supporting other homesteaders!!
I added the tag and also put it in the description of the title. Is there something else in particular that I am supposed to do because we would love to join this playlist. :-)
My mom used to make something similar but she had a Pennsylvania Dutch recipe that includes green beans and red beans. Sounds yummy though I might try it. What does the turmeric do? Is it for color or flavor or medicinal value?
Yep just for color
And flavor
What is chow chow?
An old southern relish used on beans, burgers and pretty much anything else. We don't use it on cake or ice cream, anything else is fair game. :) Thank you!!!
