If rhino's iron skin functions like mesmers skin. He will be the most op frame out there. Although you can subsume rhino's roar to revenant but with a less damage increase due to being a subsume ability
Not niche. The thing about rhino is that he primarily good at two things. Surviving and multiplying nearly all damage in the game. In a game where you lose by dying and you kill things. The reason why he's relevant for so many things is because he's as not-niche as you can possibly get in the game. And CC is a nice bonus.
a kindred soul, rhino was too my first frame and a few weeks later my first prime, i can always rely on rhino no matter what and even tho i do use other frames situationally like nekros on survival etc. i can always rely on rhino whenever i dont feel like doing that, my favourite frame, my reliable bastion of defence and damage, and the king of all cod-pieces, rhino truly is a masterful and timeless frame, pure perfection
rhino is that one old guy who has been through everything and has the strength and know-how to help you through a tough spot. He's done literally every job, and doesn't need fancy pants complicated tech.
A simple frame for simple applications, he does whats needed and thats about it, and thats good, a frame doesn't need to be complex to be great and I think Rhino is the best example of it, even if I prefer more funky and complex frames, sometimes I like turning my brain off and just enjoying some rhino
I've been a Rhino main since Update 8. I believe that Rhino hasn't gotten any changes because he simply doesn't need them. DE hit upon the perfect formula for a support tank with his kit; he is the perfect "oh crap" frame. "Oh crap, we need more damage!" Rhino has you covered with Roar. "Oh crap, 2 guys just went down!" Rhino jumps off a cliff to refresh Iron Skin, then goes and gets both of them up while laughing at enemies. "Oh crap, we're getting swarmed!" Stomp gives you the perfect opportunity to recharge shields, grab some energy via Wellspring, or just take a breather. Deep specialization can push Rhino into a more prominent CC, buffer, or tank role, but ultimately Rhino is just what you want in an early frame, easy to get, easy to start using, and invaluable when mastered.
Well, now he's not that easy to get. I mean, old Jackal was lame af so it's True, but New Jackal is... Idk how New players experience this thing but for me he's a strange one, not very hard yet not so easy if you compare him to Vor, Lech or SERGEANT, among them New Jackal is quite hard
amen brother. ive made mine a sort of "jack of all trades" rhino. surviving thanka to iron skin. stasis the map with stomp to help out. roar for a near x3.5 damage boost (not done building that and damage varies on conditions.) he lets me roll solo or help everyone out. been my main since getting him.
Rhino, the OG Jack of all Trades. Was so happy first time I unlocked him, abused the hell outta of him when Index dropped too. Always a good frame to have on hand.
Rhino is the personification of perfecting fundamentals. There is no gimmick, no secret combo, no press one button to win... Rhino is just a really solid foundation capable of adapting on the fly, and having a good amount of self-preservation. The calling cards of a true ninja.
And with Seven Crimes of Kullervo, Rhino’s Iron skin now grants Overguard, which not only makes him immune to crowd control but also allows him to use arcanes that proc upon taking damage.
Simplicity is the keyword with rhino. Ironically the more complex a warframe is the less reliable it becomes, mostly because of animation times, stack or duration limitations or horrible scaling
And it also probably has SOMETHING that breaks, either for or against the player. And taht leads to reworks, which rquires ups and downs as they try to make it work without over working.
In some sense Rhino is very simiar to Gauss: he'll stay relevant as long as the game mechanics he's built upon stay relevant. And the whole "not dying + boosting damage" thing will always be a crucial part of the game, so Rhino will always stay at least decent, if not better
i remember playing rhino and frost in the beta days and around launch. man those 2 frame were TANKS i mean didn't matter how high the enemies were if they activated iron skin or snow globe, no bullets were piercing through
I feel like rhino is just the perfect beginner frame, and should be given after the tutorial for building (I know it basically is on Venus but new players don't know that) He is a frame that doesn't require much input and let's players focus on gameplay. Turn on ironskin, turn on roar, run around and kill stuff. 1 and 4 are panic buttons. He is just a simple frame with good tools. Damage/stagger immunity and damage buff. Always solid.
No. He should never be a beginner frame. A lot of people dont understand his role in the life of a newb. ITS SHOWING YOU WHAT MODS CAN ACHIEVE. Just a little bit of power strength makes you immortal on low levels. That gets you thinking "hmm this is kinda strong, what if i also do this". Then 10 wiki searches later the noob has 5000 iron skin rhino that lets him do most of the content in the game. Without this players will drop warframe, because thats how it gets you hooked. The feeling of "i made this OP". Thats why im harshly against looking up builds when youre new.
Nekros is another frame that has stayed relevant since his release but not because his whole kit is good. It's all because of one ability: Desecrate. Best farming ability in the game. Recently with the armor strip changes, Terrify has been getting some attention. However Nekros can struggle taking advantage of that ability on his own since his Shadows' damage becomes less consistent as enemies run away and his Punch's damage isn't great and it pushes enemies away when it's used. Nekros can potentially be a good tank or do an alright amount of damage but both things require a lot of set up and specific items to get there
@@SlurpSmudge it originally didn't do that and it's very inconsistent on whether it actually summons the enemy. Even if you do try to use it to pick specific enemies, you can't pick many worthwhile ones until you have to use 4 or the first one times out. The best thing it has going for it is the insta kill at low health but that's not reliable enough to use when you can push people back making them hard to kill
It's very consistent. As long as you kill the enemy within 3 seconds of using the ability, it will come back as a shadow. Only problems are the ragdoll and the fact that it doesn't work on enemies with overguard for some reason.

Man I missed seeing the animation for Radial Blast. I loved punching the ground. It felt bad when they removed it and kept the leg stomping, because it seemed much less cool. Was my favorite for the longest time. Still in my top 3
I wonder how different Warframe would be if Rhino’s ironskin was his subsume instead of his roar. Roar is one of the strongest and most go-to helminth abilities but ironskin is pretty cracked too so it’s hard to say
The main thing that's kept rhino from ever falling off is that his kit will work well no matter the situation,most frames that have fallen off are specialists that were built around doing something that became pointless as the game evolved but rhino's kit is literally just "more damage,don't die" and that'll be good in any situation,you could probably put rhino in an entirely different mmo and he'd still be good
Imagine rhino in something like WoW, a tank that can become invincible to CC and Dots while giving his allies a 50% damage boost plus has an aoe CC that can stun lock a whole room.
Loki was my starter frame. I played the game a lot early on, and I always looked forward to getting rhino prime. Unfortunately, I had quit after a short while. About 600 days ago, he was unvaulted, and I returned to the game. I’m now LR 2 and main rhino for everything. It’s like I knew back then that I needed him
20:22 replacing stomp is actually very bad in overall, because how numbers work, you will find yourself struggle a lot with dealing with damage scaling, and taking away stomp take his power away of able to counter violence even before entering his silence range, stopping exmius/ overguarded enemies from moving at all, and yeah, demolishers too, and quite literally, all chart bosses. And violence being the most scary acolyte to literally all frames, taking away Stomp is just making him struggle to deal with violence due to him simply taking out your hard build iron skin and reduced to nothing. And I guess most people really don't understand that "iron skin setup" is no longer a better alternative, due to how limited he can be with the way of modding it, and probably make him far weaker than you all expect. IT IS JUST BAD. SO OVERRATED. Shield gate with iron skin with 175% efficiency or neutral efficiency with arcane energize is actually a far better alternative now due to how invisible period works. 28:29 no. A complete no. The current meta of rhino is to literally abuse the iron skin recast to constantly getting that 3s invulnerable period and let the game build up iron skin health. Rhino is the only frame capable of not using any augment whatsoever. If you want to rank: 1. Iron shrapnel 2. Piercing Roar 3. Reinforcing stomp 4. Ironclad charge Recasting iron skin is literally his way of playing, with the way of this building method, he is literally the 2nd frame capable of having no rolling guard, no vazarin and still thrive in level cap missions, simply because how broken iron skin alone is. With the rotation of cast iron skin, iron skin down, shield down, do the shield gate with iron skin recast, or occasionally cast one more abilities due to even shields can be down when iron skin is recasted. You are just so, so fine. Nothing can kill you. With other frame relies so much on vazarin and rolling guard to even survive, he is the only frame besides rev, that can care no about dying, if you don't play badly. 32:43 it is expensive for reasons. Imagine an ability that can literally stop anything, eximus, thrax, acolytes and all chart bosses, destroy spy cams, exceptional cc viability that just simply bodied over gloom in cc power, any defensive missions with his 4 is a complete joke, modding range? Guess you wanna see the half of the map stops around you... This is the raw cc viability that almost all cc frames wish they could have, and it is on a frame that is not made for cc. 33:33 least useful...Holy jesus. What is this actual hell. A CC that care less about anything, acolyte's bane of existence besides silence from banshee, stealth farming machine, the only ability that makes him viable in not only saving teammates in a pinch with that cc, the only ability that made him a good spy frame due to stop is able to destroy cams, interception is a joke, almost everything is a joke in front of this cc. This is just too unreal in my eyes. Stomp is literally his greatest panic button and any defense based mission is just another joke for him, his panic button that stops everything that tries to pose a threat to you. And you tell me it is the least useful abilities of his kit. No way. Just no way. His 1 is way more useful...*sigh* You are taking away 35% of his versatility just to have funny iron skin numbers... Bro. I am just very sad that I HAD TO ADMIT this is just another misinformation about how Rhino should be, the first half part I can agree, but the last few mins is just sad for me who played him religiously for 1 year, dugged out almost all aspects of him, what he is capable of, and how severely underrated he is in other category, there's so much thing you didn't mention about him and it is okay, consider that you don't play it religiously, and yet, this is just another "iron skin setup" rhino build for me. Made a such a long post breaking down measuring how good her kit was by playing her with the old meta and not getting the same results doesn't mean she's bad. Doesn't the ne zha damage reduction/immunity ability work virtually the same was as rhino? Would ne zha not also be a frame that doesn't NEED rolling guard/vazarin? Also very good points, wish more rhino players used him this way. I swear all I see is the iron skin version in pubs
Rhino's the definition of _"if it ain't broken _*_DON'T_*_ fix it"_ I remember trading the parts to get Rhino Prime and after getting him he's my main boi for Index and sometimes defensive
I’d say the only things rhino could use as QoL would be: 1. his rhino skin UI, meaning instead of having his iron skins health value shown at the top right of the screen as a small icon that can get cluttered up with other buff icons, just copy what they did with nezha’s warding halo health UI and/or garudas UI on her damage passive. 2. An energy pool buff to his prime variant. not asking for huge buff just a little buff like inaros prime. Mainly because helminth exists now so some subsumed abilities may require a lot more energy. We shouldn’t have to throw 2-4 blue shards on a frame for that.. not on primed frames at least imo. Him along with frost p and ash p still remain the lowest energy pools in the game (425 energy with max p flow equipped) and it’s just archaic at this point. Other frames have way larger energy pools than they really need so why not buff these 3 too. 3. As you stated already, making roar recastable. Self explanatory really. I Played Rhino when The beta first came out. The first change to his Iron skin was Pretty much what the community was talking about until they reverted the change. Till this day I have never seen a backlash that hard.
The thing about rhino stomp is that it’s slow effects eximus units even when they have over guard making it one of few effective crowd controls when eximus have over guard and it effects acolytes I don’t know about liches but it probably works on them too. It also works on bosses like captain vor for example and it turns out slowing enemies by 97.5 percent makes then basically not a threat and easy to kill. And it goes through walls and has no enemy cap.
I'm a Rhino main, but imo he needs a good passive and a good offensive attack. He doesn't have anything comparable to other frames that are OP nukes. The Helminth system somewhat helps, but it doesn't solve the problem.
Looks like weve got a Rammus on our hands boys. Seeing Dante's ability reveal gave me flashbacks to when Aphelios was introduced to League. Also a side note: I tried replacing Iron Shrapnel for an Index run, and immediately regretted it as I had no way of reliably refreshing my Iron Skin from 400 or less with a group of enemies available for Charge. Not the biggest deal with the shield-gating mechanic, but it still felt clunky.

As my main since day one, I like him for the fact he isn’t overly eccentric or wild. He’s hard to kill. He’s relatively fast. And he can bodyslam through more targets.
I was gifted a Rhino Prime years ago. I still main him. My Boltor Prime was my main primary for a long time, and has a ton of forma in both. When I came back and found out that Boltor Prime sucks I was pretty sad. He's still great for Index. His only weakness is in Parkour 1.0 he couldn't run.
I have found one time roar isn't wanted. When your going for a consecutive headshot challenge. For instance, make sure no one is trying to rank up their incarnon's headshot challenge before roaring down an angel.
The rule of rhino seems to be "Rhino does not care", Not enough damage? not a problem. Survivability? not a problem. Too many enemies? No such thing. Weak abilities? Not the case. Overpowered abilities? None break the meta. Basically. Rhino keeps saying no to questions that critizise it, and it seems to just work at this point.
Relevant is obviously opinion and even being my most played frame he kind of isnt that relevant since the helminth system was added but then u can argue he is at low level and relevant since u get roar for him being consumed. He is definitely less relevant than ever b4.
Rhino is the classic 8 out of 10. Other frames may be better, but rhino is never bad. And that’s keep hi, around for a decade. There’s almost no activity that’s rhinos bad in.
once i saw rhino a few years ago when killing the jackal it was basically love at first side, badass appearence that made other warframes look small, respectable croud control and mobility with his 1, the best defence in game with his 2 IMO, a badass damage buff with his 3 that dosent ask you to do any specific bs just press a button and have fun, and the STAR PLATINUM ZA WARUDO! with his 4, his passive is kinda meh not gonna lie, but words cant express how much i love this character the moment i first started played as him i knew he would be my main, never regreted my descision and never will do

The addition of Archon Shards just made him even sturdier. Tauforged or not, stick a bunch of Azure Shards into his back and watch Iron Skin reach horrifyingly large numbers for so much less work.
Rhino's only real issues at this point are all minor, QoL pains. Being unable to naturally recast Iron Skin forces players to either waste a mod slot or just find a ledge to jump off of when they want to refresh it. Refusing to implement recasting doesn't do anything to lessen abuse, it just leads to awkward workarounds that detract from the game's fun factor.
Unpopular opinion Rhino is not a Tank. He is a supporter. He has only one single ability ability for tanking or rather survivability. The rest of his kit focuses on destroying his enemies while CC'ing them with his 4 and ragdolling enemies with his 1 while boosting everyones damage. And his history proves this bc even tho yes he is awesome for solo he was meta bc people used him in team combs to buff the damage/abilities of the rest of the team Love that boi alot tho. Rhino is warframe on easy mode, people often say that you don't learn how to play warframe if you play Rhino. Main weakness of Rhino is hist greatest asset, Iron Skin doesn't proc on damage arcanes which makes some of thenm (Arcane Avenger) useless on Rhino
I remember when I played Rhino 10 years ago, then I got good and realized you could just move out of the way of the damage and played something else that was actually useful and not slow.
I like that Rhino was the first of primes for many, which somehow includes me. My brother gave me him extremely early and before I knew what I was doing at all. This was back when Wukong prime came out. Anyone knows when that was?
It's not that Rhino is a well built frame, it's that his abilities no matter how meh, appeal to the kind of people that aren't as easily screwed over by meta changes. safe frame for intuitive players.
I once got an arbitration where Rhino had some stupid ass buffs, I had obtained Reinforcing Stomp recently, I think I was the only one that didn't die because Iron Skin started with stupid high hp, enemies were pretty much aggroing only me and Reinforcing Stomp gave me like half of my iron skin hp back due to all of the enemies that were just bullet sponges.
acutally since just got buffed recently because they made his reinforcing stomp augment scale. you can now rhino to absorb ironskin then stomp for cc and to heal ironskin, i literally went to level cap with no helminth and i didint die once, it scaled so well after they buffed his augment and now you dont even need to build for armor and so much strength, just get efficency range and the augments boom ez lvl cap
Some changes I’d like to see in Rhino. Change his passive, maybe something like is Iron Skin takes reduced damage so it doesn’t get melted in high end steel path. (Maybe that’ll be too OP) Also you should be able to recast Iron Skin without the augment. His Stomp needs the biggest rework imo. I think it’d be cool if they make it so his stomp strips armor that’d be nice.
Kind of glossed over Disruptions (which have become the go-to relic farms). Pros : Rhino's stomp works on Demolysts..... weirdly. It doesn't lift or ragdoll them or even stop them, but their AI seems to kind of break for the duration (this also happens to a few other things that are meant to be mini or even major bosses) Cons : Demolysts can be very dangerous to Rhino. They emit those nullifying pulses and suddenly Rhino's Roarless and Iron SKin less in the middle of the highest enemy density in the game. He can keep his distance but that can also be tricky on some tilesets, and if he does get caught by that very quick and hard to notice pulse, there's not a big luxury of tiime to get his proverbial pants back on. The argument could be made that this affects all Warframe kits, but very few others tend to be so completely infested for BOTH survivabilitty and damage in maintaining buffs 100% uptime.
I remember back when raids were still a thing, Rhino was very useful for his stomp just cutting the sources of incoming damage and was mostly built for it. The high range for a stomp-focused build also allowed him to provide a boost in damage to the entire squad of 8 which was of course always nice, then his iron skin would prevent him getting thrown off the platforms in the first phase. Rhino has started suffering after Steel Path, as power creep increased and armour strip became the more prevalent strategy over just plain buffing damage. He's still good but for steel path and archon hunts he's now more reliant on weapon builds than himself, which the same could be said with many other frames.
See, I don't care much about the meta side of things, but Rhino is a nice frame. Now, I've replaced my tank role with Zephyr due to her duration based bullet negation, but Rhino was my first tanky frame and will always carry a special place in my arsenal.

I see rhino and loki as 2 sides of the same coin. Neither have meaningfully changed an iota since their creation yet at their core they're 4 utility moves. Rhino's 4 utility moves however are always useful in some capcity while loki is much more beholden two the meta shifts
I used to use rhino alot and loved him i just despise his augments they all boost his kit and reward actually doing something with his abilitys de has always pissed me off with augments all there abilitys that have augments feel half done and are patched by the augments.
One thing you forgot to mention is how stomp still slows overguard And why would you even remove it from him?? It's straight up an amazing ability that take a huge aoe and just gives a middle finger to all enenies inside it Lastly, i'd consider rhino as more of a effect frame as he applies buffs to himself and debuffs to enemies 1-ragdoll+knockback [armor buff 2-buffs himself with ignoring x damage (only tank ability) 3-buffs your and ally damage [and debuffs enemies] 4-slow everything down in a monstrous radius, while also forcing knockdown [iron skin heal too]
Its probably not even right to call him a tank anymore. Many frames tank way safer and easier than him. He is more like a tanky buffer. The thing that makes him superb is he has a monopoly in buffing ability damage. There's a Volt nuking in your party? Max strength roar gives them 300% more damage. Now there is the equivalent off 4 Volts in your party. No other damage buffs affect abilities.
You are so wrong. Helminth basically become his best friend. 37 subsume choices for you to cherry pick, revenant? 6. How is this comparable? Subsumes make him a top nuker, subsumes give him so many choices to become a monster in basically any category. Of course, you guys doing the iron skin setup. No wonder he is mid in your guys' hand.
Rhino is good at one thing and one thing only but he's the best at it, I came back after not playing for 5 years and my rhino carried me like 5 years ago no problem and when ever in doubt Rhino is the way.
Now what about a Nezha video? Rhino's devourer... like, Nezha does everything Rhino does, but (arguably) better and cheaper, lmao. And can also use Roar to have quadratic scaling dmg boost (like roar * chakram dmg vulnerability). But nah, I'm asking just as a joke, u have already posted about the ideas fpr next videps iirc. But it is a critique I have that u mentioned Revenant a couple times while never mentioning Nezha, who IS Rhino 2.0. Sure, DR is not better than dmg immunity, but only considering u go to levels in the thousands I guess, also DR is quite cheaper to build when comparing with Rhino's dmg invulnerability, as that would kinda require one or two augments + helminth skill + an arcane just to be really safe (at high level content I mean).
Iron skin is in fact his 2nd weakest ability. Imagine has to invest in this ability. there is a tech called iron skin absorb rolling guard tech with rhino stomp, level cap? Ezpz. You are playing him wrong. That is why. You didn't even maximize his potential, you wasted all of it. If you play rhino correctly, not only he has one of the most disgusting dmg buffing in game (nourish + roar), you survive the 2nd best in the tank category, and your cc is so turbo broken that you make every cc frame or people who has cc cry in a corner, you play in a way that makes him so weak and mediocre that is what 90% of rhinos do now, potential massively underutilized. Or if you want nuke, thermal sunder rhino exists. Wave 14 ESO? too ez, you just become top nukers by existing as a "tank" So so so much potential, many didn't utilize. See his skin glowing gold, immediately think that is his core ability.

just got back into warframe after being gone well before the open world were a thing,i think i left in 2017. i am back on rhino prime and i forgot how fun he is, currently using him as a melee with hate so far.
Rhino, my first farmed frame, my 1st 1M credit in Index, my first tank/DPS, years and years ago, even now in end game his essence in Roar is always with me, as an ability is one of my most used subsumed ability, he's always will be loved.
Rhino was my first built frame back when Loki was a starter, as well as my first prime. I even got insults slung at me for being a rhino main back when I argued with people about DE's balance changes and bad design choices. While I tend to play more damage-oriented frames these days, whenever I go back to Rhino it just feels right. I still feel vindicated that DE added the sniper beam and charge up mechanic to the grineer ballista enemies, because it didn't feel good dropping into a sortie on earth, walking up the entrance stairs, and instantly being downed by a sniper you couldn't see at all through iron skin. I was berated and harassed by the community for at least a week for pointing out how terrible that design was. Took them until sometime in 2016 to add that mechanic, and I'm still thankful for it.

a kindred soul, rhino was too my first frame and a few weeks later my first prime, i can always rely on rhino no matter what and even tho i do use other frames situationally like nekros on survival etc. i can always rely on rhino whenever i dont feel like doing that, my favourite frame, my reliable bastion of defence and damage, and the king of all cod-pieces, rhino truly is a masterful and timeless frame, pure perfection

I've been a Rhino main since Update 8. I believe that Rhino hasn't gotten any changes because he simply doesn't need them. DE hit upon the perfect formula for a support tank with his kit; he is the perfect "oh crap" frame. "Oh crap, we need more damage!" Rhino has you covered with Roar. "Oh crap, 2 guys just went down!" Rhino jumps off a cliff to refresh Iron Skin, then goes and gets both of them up while laughing at enemies. "Oh crap, we're getting swarmed!" Stomp gives you the perfect opportunity to recharge shields, grab some energy via Wellspring, or just take a breather. Deep specialization can push Rhino into a more prominent CC, buffer, or tank role, but ultimately Rhino is just what you want in an early frame, easy to get, easy to start using, and invaluable when mastered.
Well, now he's not that easy to get. I mean, old Jackal was lame af so it's True, but New Jackal is... Idk how New players experience this thing but for me he's a strange one, not very hard yet not so easy if you compare him to Vor, Lech or SERGEANT, among them New Jackal is quite hard
amen brother. ive made mine a sort of "jack of all trades" rhino. surviving thanka to iron skin. stasis the map with stomp to help out. roar for a near x3.5 damage boost (not done building that and damage varies
on conditions.) he lets me roll solo or help everyone out. been my main since getting him.
My first exposure to warframe was the Alad V trailer, and rhino is what made me want to play the game in the first place.
Rhino, the OG Jack of all Trades. Was so happy first time I unlocked him, abused the hell outta of him when Index dropped too. Always a good frame to have on hand.
Rhino is the personification of perfecting fundamentals. There is no gimmick, no secret combo, no press one button to win... Rhino is just a really solid foundation capable of adapting on the fly, and having a good amount of self-preservation. The calling cards of a true ninja.

Simplicity is the keyword with rhino. Ironically the more complex a warframe is the less reliable it becomes, mostly because of animation times, stack or duration limitations or horrible scaling
And it also probably has SOMETHING that breaks, either for or against the player. And taht leads to reworks, which rquires ups and downs as they try to make it work without over working.
It's funny how consistent he remained despite all the potential nerfs. He's a frame you can't go wrong with using.

In some sense Rhino is very simiar to Gauss: he'll stay relevant as long as the game mechanics he's built upon stay relevant. And the whole "not dying + boosting damage" thing will always be a crucial part of the game, so Rhino will always stay at least decent, if not better

He is a frame that doesn't require much input and let's players focus on gameplay. Turn on ironskin, turn on roar, run around and kill stuff. 1 and 4 are panic buttons. He is just a simple frame with good tools. Damage/stagger immunity and damage buff. Always solid.
No. He should never be a beginner frame. A lot of people dont understand his role in the life of a newb. ITS SHOWING YOU WHAT MODS CAN ACHIEVE. Just a little bit of power strength makes you immortal on low levels. That gets you thinking "hmm this is kinda strong, what if i also do this". Then 10 wiki searches later the noob has 5000 iron skin rhino that lets him do most of the content in the game. Without this players will drop warframe, because thats how it gets you hooked. The feeling of "i made this OP". Thats why im harshly against looking up builds when youre new.
Nekros is another frame that has stayed relevant since his release but not because his whole kit is good. It's all because of one ability: Desecrate. Best farming ability in the game. Recently with the armor strip changes, Terrify has been getting some attention. However Nekros can struggle taking advantage of that ability on his own since his Shadows' damage becomes less consistent as enemies run away and his Punch's damage isn't great and it pushes enemies away when it's used. Nekros can potentially be a good tank or do an alright amount of damage but both things require a lot of set up and specific items to get there

@@SlurpSmudge it originally didn't do that and it's very inconsistent on whether it actually summons the enemy. Even if you do try to use it to pick specific enemies, you can't pick many worthwhile ones until you have to use 4 or the first one times out. The best thing it has going for it is the insta kill at low health but that's not reliable enough to use when you can push people back making them hard to kill
It's very consistent. As long as you kill the enemy within 3 seconds of using the ability, it will come back as a shadow. Only problems are the ragdoll and the fact that it doesn't work on enemies with overguard for some reason.

I wonder how different Warframe would be if Rhino’s ironskin was his subsume instead of his roar. Roar is one of the strongest and most go-to helminth abilities but ironskin is pretty cracked too so it’s hard to say
basically 3 of his abilities are cracked at the beginning. A design miracle you could say.
Rhino was the first warframe I ever got. His kit was so easy to learn and made getting into the more complex parts of the games easier.
The main thing that's kept rhino from ever falling off is that his kit will work well no matter the situation,most frames that have fallen off are specialists that were built around doing something that became pointless as the game evolved but rhino's kit is literally just "more damage,don't die" and that'll be good in any situation,you could probably put rhino in an entirely different mmo and he'd still be good
Imagine rhino in something like WoW, a tank that can become invincible to CC and Dots while giving his allies a 50% damage boost plus has an aoe CC that can stun lock a whole room.

Stomp is just making him struggle to deal with violence due to him simply taking out your hard build iron skin and reduced to nothing.

The current meta of rhino is to literally abuse the iron skin recast to constantly getting that 3s invulnerable period and let the game build up iron skin health.
Rhino is the only frame capable of not using any augment whatsoever.

Recasting iron skin is literally his way of playing, with the way of this building method, he is literally the 2nd frame capable of having no rolling guard, no vazarin and still thrive in level cap missions, simply because how broken iron skin alone is.
With the rotation of cast iron skin, iron skin down, shield down, do the shield gate with iron skin recast, or occasionally cast one more abilities due to even shields can be down when iron skin is recasted.
You are just so, so fine. Nothing can kill you. With other frame relies so much on vazarin and rolling guard to even survive, he is the only frame besides rev, that can care no about dying, if you don't play badly.

I am just very sad that I HAD TO ADMIT this is just another misinformation about how Rhino should be, the first half part I can agree, but the last few mins is just sad for me who played him religiously for 1 year, dugged out almost all aspects of him, what he is capable of, and how severely underrated he is in other category, there's so much thing you didn't mention about him and it is okay, consider that you don't play it religiously, and yet, this is just another "iron skin setup" rhino build for me.

I remember trading the parts to get Rhino Prime and after getting him he's my main boi for Index and sometimes defensive
I’d say the only things rhino could use as QoL would be:
1. his rhino skin UI, meaning instead of having his iron skins health value shown at the top right of the screen as a small icon that can get cluttered up with other buff icons, just copy what they did with nezha’s warding halo health UI and/or garudas UI on her damage passive.
2. An energy pool buff to his prime variant. not asking for huge buff just a little buff like inaros prime. Mainly because helminth exists now so some subsumed abilities may require a lot more energy. We shouldn’t have to throw 2-4 blue shards on a frame for that.. not on primed frames at least imo. Him along with frost p and ash p still remain the lowest energy pools in the game (425 energy with max p flow equipped) and it’s just archaic at this point. Other frames have way larger energy pools than they really need so why not buff these 3 too.
3. As you stated already, making roar recastable. Self explanatory really.

I Played Rhino when The beta first came out. The first change to his Iron skin was Pretty much what the community was talking about until they reverted the change. Till this day I have never seen a backlash that hard.
The thing about rhino stomp is that it’s slow effects eximus units even when they have over guard making it one of few effective crowd controls when eximus have over guard and it effects acolytes I don’t know about liches but it probably works on them too. It also works on bosses like captain vor for example and it turns out slowing enemies by 97.5 percent makes then basically not a threat and easy to kill. And it goes through walls and has no enemy cap.
Can silence work on eximus as well? Thinking if subsuming it on my rhino

I'm a Rhino main, but imo he needs a good passive and a good offensive attack. He doesn't have anything comparable to other frames that are OP nukes.
The Helminth system somewhat helps, but it doesn't solve the problem.

Also a side note: I tried replacing Iron Shrapnel for an Index run, and immediately regretted it as I had no way of reliably refreshing my Iron Skin from 400 or less with a group of enemies available for Charge.
Not the biggest deal with the shield-gating mechanic, but it still felt clunky.

As my main since day one, I like him for the fact he isn’t overly eccentric or wild. He’s hard to kill. He’s relatively fast. And he can bodyslam through more targets.
I was gifted a Rhino Prime years ago. I still main him. My Boltor Prime was my main primary for a long time, and has a ton of forma in both. When I came back and found out that Boltor Prime sucks I was pretty sad. He's still great for Index.
His only weakness is in Parkour 1.0 he couldn't run.
Rhino is an inamovible force in Warframe's meta.

The rule of rhino seems to be "Rhino does not care", Not enough damage? not a problem. Survivability? not a problem. Too many enemies? No such thing. Weak abilities? Not the case. Overpowered abilities? None break the meta.
Basically. Rhino keeps saying no to questions that critizise it, and it seems to just work at this point.

Rhino is the classic 8 out of 10. Other frames may be better, but rhino is never bad. And that’s keep hi, around for a decade. There’s almost no activity that’s rhinos bad in.
once i saw rhino a few years ago when killing the jackal it was basically love at first side, badass appearence that made other warframes look small, respectable croud control and mobility with his 1, the best defence in game with his 2 IMO, a badass damage buff with his 3 that dosent ask you to do any specific bs just press a button and have fun, and the STAR PLATINUM ZA WARUDO! with his 4, his passive is kinda meh not gonna lie, but words cant express how much i love this character the moment i first started played as him i knew he would be my main, never regreted my descision and never will do

The addition of Archon Shards just made him even sturdier. Tauforged or not, stick a bunch of Azure Shards into his back and watch Iron Skin reach horrifyingly large numbers for so much less work.
Rhino's only real issues at this point are all minor, QoL pains. Being unable to naturally recast Iron Skin forces players to either waste a mod slot or just find a ledge to jump off of when they want to refresh it. Refusing to implement recasting doesn't do anything to lessen abuse, it just leads to awkward workarounds that detract from the game's fun factor.
Unpopular opinion Rhino is not a Tank. He is a supporter. He has only one single ability ability for tanking or rather survivability. The rest of his kit focuses on destroying his enemies while CC'ing them with his 4 and ragdolling enemies with his 1 while boosting everyones damage. And his history proves this bc even tho yes he is awesome for solo he was meta bc people used him in team combs to buff the damage/abilities of the rest of the team

Rhino is warframe on easy mode, people often say that you don't learn how to play warframe if you play Rhino. Main weakness of Rhino is hist greatest asset, Iron Skin doesn't proc on damage arcanes which makes some of thenm (Arcane Avenger) useless on Rhino
The on damage procs are easily circumvented by the combat discipline aura thou. Hell, Rhino is probably he safest frame to use that start on.

I once got an arbitration where Rhino had some stupid ass buffs, I had obtained Reinforcing Stomp recently, I think I was the only one that didn't die because Iron Skin started with stupid high hp, enemies were pretty much aggroing only me and Reinforcing Stomp gave me like half of my iron skin hp back due to all of the enemies that were just bullet sponges.
acutally since just got buffed recently because they made his reinforcing stomp augment scale. you can now rhino to absorb ironskin then stomp for cc and to heal ironskin, i literally went to level cap with no helminth and i didint die once, it scaled so well after they buffed his augment and now you dont even need to build for armor and so much strength, just get efficency range and the augments boom ez lvl cap

Some changes I’d like to see in Rhino. Change his passive, maybe something like is Iron Skin takes reduced damage so it doesn’t get melted in high end steel path. (Maybe that’ll be too OP) Also you should be able to recast Iron Skin without the augment. His Stomp needs the biggest rework imo. I think it’d be cool if they make it so his stomp strips armor that’d be nice.
Kind of glossed over Disruptions (which have become the go-to relic farms).
Pros : Rhino's stomp works on Demolysts..... weirdly. It doesn't lift or ragdoll them or even stop them, but their AI seems to kind of break for the duration (this also happens to a few other things that are meant to be mini or even major bosses)
Cons : Demolysts can be very dangerous to Rhino. They emit those nullifying pulses and suddenly Rhino's Roarless and Iron SKin less in the middle of the highest enemy density in the game. He can keep his distance but that can also be tricky on some tilesets, and if he does get caught by that very quick and hard to notice pulse, there's not a big luxury of tiime to get his proverbial pants back on. The argument could be made that this affects all Warframe kits, but very few others tend to be so completely infested for BOTH survivabilitty and damage in maintaining buffs 100% uptime.

I remember back when raids were still a thing, Rhino was very useful for his stomp just cutting the sources of incoming damage and was mostly built for it. The high range for a stomp-focused build also allowed him to provide a boost in damage to the entire squad of 8 which was of course always nice, then his iron skin would prevent him getting thrown off the platforms in the first phase.
Rhino has started suffering after Steel Path, as power creep increased and armour strip became the more prevalent strategy over just plain buffing damage. He's still good but for steel path and archon hunts he's now more reliant on weapon builds than himself, which the same could be said with many other frames.
See, I don't care much about the meta side of things, but Rhino is a nice frame. Now, I've replaced my tank role with Zephyr due to her duration based bullet negation, but Rhino was my first tanky frame and will always carry a special place in my arsenal.

I see rhino and loki as 2 sides of the same coin. Neither have meaningfully changed an iota since their creation yet at their core they're 4 utility moves. Rhino's 4 utility moves however are always useful in some capcity while loki is much more beholden two the meta shifts
I used to use rhino alot and loved him i just despise his augments they all boost his kit and reward actually doing something with his abilitys de has always pissed me off with augments all there abilitys that have augments feel half done and are patched by the augments.
One thing you forgot to mention is how stomp still slows overguard
And why would you even remove it from him?? It's straight up an amazing ability that take a huge aoe and just gives a middle finger to all enenies inside it
Lastly, i'd consider rhino as more of a effect frame as he applies buffs to himself and debuffs to enemies
1-ragdoll+knockback [armor buff
2-buffs himself with ignoring x damage (only tank ability)
3-buffs your and ally damage [and debuffs enemies]
4-slow everything down in a monstrous radius, while also forcing knockdown [iron skin heal too]
It’s funny how the sentient Warframes (Revenant and Caliban) have each taken something from Rhino and put their twist on it
Its probably not even right to call him a tank anymore. Many frames tank way safer and easier than him. He is more like a tanky buffer. The thing that makes him superb is he has a monopoly in buffing ability damage. There's a Volt nuking in your party? Max strength roar gives them 300% more damage. Now there is the equivalent off 4 Volts in your party. No other damage buffs affect abilities.

Rhino's biggest strength is that he simply doesn't care about anything (except nulifiers, but that's what his guns are for)

How is this comparable? Subsumes make him a top nuker, subsumes give him so many choices to become a monster in basically any category.

Rhino is good at one thing and one thing only but he's the best at it, I came back after not playing for 5 years and my rhino carried me like 5 years ago no problem and when ever in doubt Rhino is the way.

Haven't used him in 7 years, he's still my #1 used Warframe, must have been the solo farming.
Now what about a Nezha video? Rhino's devourer... like, Nezha does everything Rhino does, but (arguably) better and cheaper, lmao. And can also use Roar to have quadratic scaling dmg boost (like roar * chakram dmg vulnerability).
But nah, I'm asking just as a joke, u have already posted about the ideas fpr next videps iirc. But it is a critique I have that u mentioned Revenant a couple times while never mentioning Nezha, who IS Rhino 2.0.
Sure, DR is not better than dmg immunity, but only considering u go to levels in the thousands I guess, also DR is quite cheaper to build when comparing with Rhino's dmg invulnerability, as that would kinda require one or two augments + helminth skill + an arcane just to be really safe (at high level content I mean).
Iron skin is in fact his 2nd weakest ability. Imagine has to invest in this ability.
there is a tech called iron skin absorb rolling guard tech with rhino stomp, level cap? Ezpz.
You are playing him wrong. That is why. You didn't even maximize his potential, you wasted all of it. If you play rhino correctly, not only he has one of the most disgusting dmg buffing in game (nourish + roar), you survive the 2nd best in the tank category, and your cc is so turbo broken that you make every cc frame or people who has cc cry in a corner, you play in a way that makes him so weak and mediocre that is what 90% of rhinos do now, potential massively underutilized.
Or if you want nuke, thermal sunder rhino exists. Wave 14 ESO? too ez, you just become top nukers by existing as a "tank"
So so so much potential, many didn't utilize. See his skin glowing gold, immediately think that is his core ability.

tank isnt all he does. guess what hes a MASSIVE party dps buff, AOE and single target crowd control. its got it all.
just got back into warframe after being gone well before the open world were a thing,i think i left in 2017. i am back on rhino prime and i forgot how fun he is, currently using him as a melee with hate so far.
Rhino, my first farmed frame, my 1st 1M credit in Index, my first tank/DPS, years and years ago, even now in end game his essence in Roar is always with me, as an ability is one of my most used subsumed ability, he's always will be loved.
Rhino was my first built frame back when Loki was a starter, as well as my first prime. I even got insults slung at me for being a rhino main back when I argued with people about DE's balance changes and bad design choices. While I tend to play more damage-oriented frames these days, whenever I go back to Rhino it just feels right.
I still feel vindicated that DE added the sniper beam and charge up mechanic to the grineer ballista enemies, because it didn't feel good dropping into a sortie on earth, walking up the entrance stairs, and instantly being downed by a sniper you couldn't see at all through iron skin. I was berated and harassed by the community for at least a week for pointing out how terrible that design was. Took them until sometime in 2016 to add that mechanic, and I'm still thankful for it.
