In the end he ends up realizing how wrong he really was and helps save the new K1...

This scene...and the one after it. As a little kid watching this on TV at like 7 years old...this scene was intense. He's basically bleeding out, but with sheer force of will...presses on. The definition of tenacity and heroism after being beaten half to death, too. As an adult, this is way shorter than I remember as a kid...but still pretty intense, even knowing the ending. To a 7 year old who didn't know if he would make it with this epic music and race against the clock, it was mind blowing enough to remember over 3 decades later.

This is one of those rare cases where the sequel was better than the original movie. Not that either of these movies was some great work of art, but the second one was definitely more entertaining than the first.
They really knew how to make movies back in the day, even down to the minute audio details like the sound of the boom lift engine straining to lift, just adds that little extra drama to it.
SPOILER: Through the whole movie Oscar pretended to be his friend so he could trick him into breaking into a bank vault for him. After looting the bank vault, Oscar tried to kill him by chopping him up with an axe. That's why he is "Bleeding". Johnny inventor's friend patched him up as a temporary fix, although Jhonny instead of waiting to be saved, risked certain death to stop his former friend who tricked him, tried to murder him and take off with the jewels and other valuables from the bank.
When I was a kid seeing johnnys determination and act of bravery as he faced death gave me goosebumps the fist time I watched this scene. 32 now watching this scene for the first time again still gives me goosebumps
The mohawk that Number 5 has is so darn rad! The best I can describe the first movie is that Johnny 5 started as a war robot but one night lightning striked him & made him refuse to be a war robot & falls in love w/ a lady named "Stephanie"; he worries that he might get disassembled by his company so he says "No disassembly!"
Because back in the day kids movies were made as real movies, just less intense in certain thematic elements to make it palpable to children. They knew they had to appeal to adults as well.

(yes i know, the 80's nostalgia) w/ Johnny 5 continued sparking, it indicates one of the two: his electrical load can't handle the current load in play or the battery can't balance the load correctly-or a combination of both. from what we see as viewers, and Johnny5 and Fred in the radio shack and seeing Johnny5 bleeding, it could state he had a lead acid battery-ohhh

Someone else said that at the end of the movie (which is here) that Oscar was hitting Johnny 5 with a fishing rod. Was that a deleted scene? If that happened, this scene would be a perfect spot for that to happen since it's a river here with boats and maybe fishing stuff. Although Oscar's henchmen were hitting and destroying Johnny 5 with an axe and crowbar.
If Johnny Five merged his personality with John McClane's 😁 (Also note when he was initially trying to survive by patching in an auxillary power source, he snatched a 'Die Hard' battery from a car, which can't be coincidence 😉 )

Not even a reboot just set it in modern day with classic Johnny 5. Have it established that he’s been living happily for the past 30 years but now feels he needs a change. So he decides to become a parent and build his kids!! That’s where you can incorporate the newer tech and make some puns while your at it (I can totally see Johnny acting like an old man “back in my day we didn’t have this fancy Bluetooth, we had RF and radio, you kids got it so easy”)
