    The day Taake announced they were forced to cancel their U.S. tour I went online and ordered every Taake on vinyl I could find... and a hoodie. The more they try to censor Black Metal, the more I support it.

      It was pathetic why they were forced to cancel considering they were touring the U.S. back in 2014 just fine. Now unfortunately they are going after mgla with the same nazi claims.

    Man, Rauta, great interview! You brought up some great subjects and helped bring up some good points that I have been curious about from the artist's point of view.
    I really hope Taake makes it back to the US again someday, I had the chance to see them once when they came through before all the antifa mess. If I could get to a show, I would go no matter what. Threat of violence against fans, like myself, or not. I'm an advocate of nonviolence, so I am not just looking for a fight. I just want to support the bands I like!
    As an artist myself, I have made a few mistakes in the past that I am not proud of now. I think people can move beyond it. I can really relate with Hoest/Taake for this.

    I consider myself a socialist and a supporter of protests against fascism but what I don’t support is kids who don’t understand black metal or this band at all getting the tour canceled due to their ignorance.
    Shit like that just makes the left look worse and gives credit to embolden and lead others down the far right path, which a band like Taake to even be considered that people can only point to national pride in Norway, which is actually a consistent thing within some black metal bands, to honour the old ones and their unique cultural heritage. Just because Taake writes and adores their heritage doesn’t mean they’re a fascist or right wing band.

    About your last question: Aristotle had an answer to this - freedom. Even in Japan there really is no true freedom, it is a country run by a couple of wealthy families and corporations. You can even be turned away from a corporate job apparently if your hair is not black which is the norm there.

    if you wear a bm-shirt with a norwegian flag on it, you get "these" looks, like supporting norwegian nationalism.

      @RautaMetal  4 роки тому

      Yep. Norwegian flags were seen in bm jackets/vests already some 20 years ago as if it was tied to BM somehow integrated fashion. But if a Finnish band would put a Finnish flag above the stage to hang, it would be automatically flagged as NSBM band.
