It was pathetic why they were forced to cancel considering they were touring the U.S. back in 2014 just fine. Now unfortunately they are going after mgla with the same nazi claims.
It's fun to see Hoest actually being kind of a goof, I always pictured him as this really serious guy. However, really good and fun interview, keep up the good work!
I knew about Taake for quite some time, but I never bothered to check them out until last night. Fell in love after hearing two songs, and I was looking for interviews but couldn't find anything interesting. You can't imagine my happiness when I got a notification for this video.

Yeah. I've explained this before. Our main gear is with our "primary" camera person who can't travel to all the events because... Well everything costs money. So lack of gear etc comes down to zero budget shit
I like the way Taake answer to black metal is singing in their native Norsk language and having pride in being Norwegian and not following the normal black metal formula i mean Hoest mixes things up so not to get too repetitive and boring..excellent riffing....great interview keep doing what your doing ...🤘🏻😎🤘🏻

Man, Rauta, great interview! You brought up some great subjects and helped bring up some good points that I have been curious about from the artist's point of view. I really hope Taake makes it back to the US again someday, I had the chance to see them once when they came through before all the antifa mess. If I could get to a show, I would go no matter what. Threat of violence against fans, like myself, or not. I'm an advocate of nonviolence, so I am not just looking for a fight. I just want to support the bands I like! As an artist myself, I have made a few mistakes in the past that I am not proud of now. I think people can move beyond it. I can really relate with Hoest/Taake for this.

Yeah. Here in Europe they are quite easy to be seen. Like I've seen them two times in 2022 and once in 2019 for example. And first time was years earlier.
As an American, it still pisses me off that Taake's tour was cancelled. Same shit happened with Horna. Despite what the media might say, Americans are fed up with the political correctness that's being shoved down our throats.
I am sure it pisses you off and it annoyed me as well - I did a video about it roughly 18 months before this video. American metal scene needs to stand up!
A word of advice to the interviewer: when you ask someone a question, allow him to answer, don't help him unless he is struggling with the language. There's to much of you in this interview and less of Hoest. Otherwise, it's good you don't need to look on some piece of paper to remember the questions. Keep up the good work.
I consider myself a socialist and a supporter of protests against fascism but what I don’t support is kids who don’t understand black metal or this band at all getting the tour canceled due to their ignorance. Shit like that just makes the left look worse and gives credit to embolden and lead others down the far right path, which a band like Taake to even be considered that people can only point to national pride in Norway, which is actually a consistent thing within some black metal bands, to honour the old ones and their unique cultural heritage. Just because Taake writes and adores their heritage doesn’t mean they’re a fascist or right wing band.

The funniest thing is how we are proud of our heritage, I have half norwegian heritage, and after watching this, I realize I may be more proud norwegian than a lot in Norge haha.

I would be interested in what his political alignments are. Is it really necessarily true that nationalism = right wing and/or 'conservative'? Not that it's super important or whatever. Just as a guy from the states where all the conservative right wingers are usually Christian. It's interesting to know about the differences from here.
Caring about the well-being and existence of your people is simply natural, it is ethnocentrism and present in all ethnic groups who are healthy. It has only become associated with "right politics" because of how anti-European "left politics" have become in the past decades.

Yep. Norwegian flags were seen in bm jackets/vests already some 20 years ago as if it was tied to BM somehow integrated fashion. But if a Finnish band would put a Finnish flag above the stage to hang, it would be automatically flagged as NSBM band.

I was lucky enough to see Taake in Baltimore the last time they came to the U.S. in 2016. One of the best Black Metal bands there is.

Yep. Norwegian flags were seen in bm jackets/vests already some 20 years ago as if it was tied to BM somehow integrated fashion. But if a Finnish band would put a Finnish flag above the stage to hang, it would be automatically flagged as NSBM band.
