I had a stroke due to spontaneous vertebral artery dissection but noone would listen to my concerns.

I understand exactly what you're saying. My new(ish) neurologist told me she considered me healed because my dissection was as bad as it could get wouldn't get worse. She released me from care. And said that I could stop taking daily aspirin. I woke up a week ago with a numb arm, face, lip and tongue . At the ER it was determined that I was dehydrated, and placed back on daily aspirin. I have a follow up with my PCP tomorrow. It was a reality slap to still have to be so vigilant after being told I have nothing to worry about. I'll be spending my spare time this week trying to get back in with the neurologists in Boston.
Good for her doctors noticing this and working with a sense of urgency. I had a carotid dissection, before it was actually diagnosed through a combination of CT/MRI, it was noted that my carotid was completely occluded through an ultrasound. There was no sense of urgency at the local Western Massachusetts hospital. In fact when my PCP tried to get my appointment moved up, the vascular surgeon told him I had been living with the condition (assuming it was arteriosclerotic) and could wait for an appointment. Another doctor told me to just find the best vascular surgeon my insurance would cover and I was fortunate enough to be able to get an appointment elsewhere, with the best vascular surgeon in the region. I'm lucky I survived this. To everyone who has experienced this life altering injury, stay strong and never stop advocating for yourself ❤

Did you go through surgery / stenting
Glad it worked out. My hospital caused my stroke. I had an undiagnosed CD, BP 240/180 … BP eventually went down over the next hour and I was left with a slight right side headache .. they gave me an immitrex shot for a migraine .. I stroked out within 15 seconds. That was 27 yrs ago (I was 39) got over the stroke reasonably quickly (after 3 day coma) and ICA is now 100% “open”. … very scary to wake up on a table with tv monitors unable to talk but could still,swear and did .. profusely.

I am glad, you are ok❤ It sounds related to SCAD heart attack, spontanious dissection, which often happens to women with migraines. That happened to me, is treated with betablockers and bloodthinners. Often related to Fibromuscular dysplasia, weak bloodwessels. Just a thought.
Can perform suffer with vascular problem for 8 years
How would a blood thinner reduce the chance of a vessel ripping apart again. 🤔
So if i understand, the only treatment given for this carotid dissection ( like in most of this cases) was bloodthinners?
7:21pm Cuz😢😢 I had no idea. Thank God we didn't lose you. I'm going to make an appointment with my doctor. I started getting headaches in last ten years. 5 years ago I smacked the back of my head when I fell in middle of the night. Huge knot on my head. I did seek medical attention the next day. Now my neck is always in extreme pain. I love you so very much Cuz. Thank God.
The porcelain rang for a while. Fell backwards my head slammed the edge of the sink.
V.I.P. treatment
I've been dealing with this since I went to a chiropractor and I can't get help and I keep losing my hearing in my ear and I've lost multiple jobs and I have so much pain from migraines it's unbearable
Sorry to read about this I also am suffering / going through pressure headaches, neck and shoulder pain, radiating through back of head. Do you also get neck pain, or pulsatile tinnitus? Does it feel like (the) pain is radiating with the heatbeat? It does for me. I had the whooshing in right ear for 6 months but it is less audible now, but I still fell the pain radiating in whole upper body area. May we find some resolution to our ailments ! Keep the faith
@@Wil_Dsense yes I have those same symptoms plus extreme pain in my deltoid and left bicep
So…my neurologist sent me for a brain MRI based on my symptoms, because he wanted to check for IIH. Results say no…but pulsatile tinnitus is a symptom. Have you been checked for Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension?
@@abigailmiller6983 no I haven't I'm still trying to get help. I think my salivary glands quit working properly now. My teeth are getting so horrible now and dry mouth constantly. I tried to push myself hard doing physical therapy at home the last two months and I just tried to start working again but it's just getting worse. I had to leave work early today and I missed days already. I'm totally screwed. I'm going to die from this. And the neurologist and other doctor say it's from the chiropractor injuring me so now my insurance won't cover my medical bills. Suicide is looking like my only option at this point
