EA has gotten way too greedy. They keep dividing packs in half and charging double for content. If EA thinks they can continue milking this cowplant dry, then Paralives is going to eat their lunch and we may not have a Sims franchise before long.
@@c0rnichon That's also what I am thinking. They don't have the appetite to be competitive. Especially when another game is willing to do things for free that they would normally charge for.
@@c0rnichon Sim City and Cities never competed. Sim City was shelved way before Cities released. It had nothing to do with the long standing rumor that 'Cities killed Sims City'. Just like this rumor is spreading lies. Project Rene only cancelled Sims5 on Playstation 5 because Playstation 6 was recently announced. They're more than likely moving the project to 6. That's it.
@@lastbrohican5244Why must they compete? Why are you all so hell bent on these games battle royaliing? Y'all need to feel that special? Just play the game you prefer....leave the others alone. Simple.
people are blowing this out of proportion. the linkedin screenshot (which we have no evidence is real, it was posted by a simmer who has since deleted it) said "sims 5 unreal engine for ps5 (cancelled)". *if* this linkedin thing is real, then i would guess they cancelled the PS5 version of the game, considering how cutting out console development would save them a lot of time and effort. the sims franchise is a huge cash cow for EA and i can't imagine them giving up on it anytime soon.

Given how EA discontinued SimCity when it got competition, it might happen with the Sims as well.
@@c0rnichon My thoughts exactly.

Life by You has been discontinued recently, though.
Ah, great call and sad to hear. I like Paradox games so I was hoping that one would pull through.
