See and another thing is some people don’t know what 4 inches of hair look like either sometimes even an inch so we have to explain that to people as well
Because like Shell said, some folks have PTSD from stylists that took 4+ inches when only 1-2 inches were to be trimmed. I've seen a lady silently crying after this happened. Her sister came to pick her up, saw her sister's tears & long hair gone & set it off in that salon after the stylist tried to convince them that she did the client a favor. It was a fly cut, but not what the client wanted.
@lionsdencoaching6457 out of jealousy?? Damn never heard or thought of that I hope not smh just thought the majority of stylists get scissor happy or even go further than they intended
@Ashley-og9ti That's what I always thought, too. And, I also think sometimes they may see that more needs to be cut; but they should just do what the client asks for and they'll see for themselves if more is needed.
You can also pull the hair straight out like you're cutting layers to get hairs that don't come all the way down. This way you can still get all of the split ends without unnecessarily cutting healthy hair.
I'm a 4c girlie and I know my silk presses don't last long (I also sweat from my roots) but I loveeeee Silk presses so much. And 4c hair reverts back with no damage majority of the time❤😊

I don’t know if your still doing this but this something that can help you as a stylist when your trimming part the hair so you won’t forget about the top hair pieces because we tend to cut less hair off the ends at the top that’s a way you can manage going up in a row

Thank you for this. I’m a white woman and my hair is naturally very dry and frizzy. Everytime I go to a white salon they struggle with my hair. I use redkin products, Olaplex, and many others and still my hair is so dry. I don’t know how much and what product to use as I’m flat ironing my hair. I regularly leave a cream conditioner in my hair with a cap overnight wrapped in a towel. I’ve started purchasing products in the ethnic section as the white products just aren’t doing it. Question… why do stylist trim this way? It seems lazy bc hairs at the top of the head aren’t being trimmed / cut. PS I’m not referring to how much was taken off. That’s understandable when the client isn’t keeping up w/ regular trims but I trim mine every 3 mos & my ex-styles does this same bob nonsense. This is cutting hair into a style when the client requested a trim for the health of the hair. I’m not a bob wearer. It also eventually made the back of my hair significantly shorter than the top bc her only skill was to make it “look” even all around from the bottom. Not cool but hoping you can help answer this question.
I think you pressed & trimmed her hair beautiful. I got my hair pressed and curled every 2 weeks for years. It was done with the Marcells. My stylist would make that curling iron talk. 😂😅 I never got heat damage.
I used to flat iron and curl my hair daily and had hairdressers use heat on a regular and never had heat damage. I don’t even remember using a heat protector either. These new hot tools must’ve been made in hell. 🤣🤣😩
My baby's hair is this texture and it's o hard to keep it moisturized because she's rough. I took her to get her hair washed and trimmed. The lady said I need to cut it all off because it's dead hair.
It’s alright her hair isn’t airy nor flowy … it looks a bit stiff and dry . I would have given her a hydration treatment before putting heat to her hair . Then on top of that u went down the shaft of her hair more than one time with the flat iron (u must be using ceramic plates) Idk if u cut it out but i didn’t see u grab in between her hair to cut. I give this a 5 out of 10
Looks so pretty I'm watching because I would like to get one. My natural hair is almost armpit length so I know it will be pretty. I need my ends clipped too not a big chop but enough for my ends to be healthy

I would respectfully like to understand: does this means 3 weeks without washing her hair? Is this a good thing? I have 2C-3A hair and personally need to wash my hair every 3-4 days, more in the summer or if working out, or the sweat and humidity will do a number on me. How do you prevent the sweat to damage your hair going so long without a wash?
There was a thread on Twitter recently where some of the child models on perm boxes said they never got their hair relaxed. Most of them had silk presses done.

I’m excited to see real 4C silk press cos mine last a day 😂😂😂😂
Beautiful work! 😍
I am highly allergic to formaldehyde, so most commercial products I can not use. Consequently, I’m a natural gal for the first time in my life. I make my own shampoo (black soap diluted or soap nuts diluted) and conditioner (goats milk, aloe gel or Irish Sea Moss and aloe). My hair 4C, low porosity goes back to natural within hours and never really straightens. HELP
The knowledge you give out is outstanding. New things are great and some were things I had the learn in my 30s 👎🏿 def needed this in high school. 😃👍🏾 Great 💜
What is the name of the flat iron you're using ?
Nice. I like how you "bumped" the ends! 👌🏽
Love the cut! I can tell she needed it!
Im so confused. I'm biracial, black and white. I have really dry and oily hair the same time. So I put oil in it when I first wash it, so that it doesn't get dry, so I have to wash it and do it again. What can I put other than oil to keep it from freezing up when I first wash it?
❤ Turned Out Beautiful
What is the difference between a silk press and a normal blowout
Silk press last longer and us also way more straight than a blowout where that if mor fluffly
Why nobody ever says how many degrees they put the flat iron at
Beautiful work!
I need help !! I swear I got 4CCCCCC HAIR 😔🤭I’m definitely taking your advice like today 👏🏾👏🏾Thanks hun
Hi, am interested in knowing the electric comb you used before the Silk press
Beautifully done. A lot of people need help with coarse hair. Very inspiring. How much does that cost?
What oils should we not use if we want a good deep conditioning treatment?
Those breathable nets with the holes in it create splits ends
This was very informative. Can’t wait to do my daughter’s hair like this 🤗
Any recommendations for quality deep conditioners?
You do an absolutely amazing job..what temperature is the flat iron on?
What should I use to hydrate my hair while in braids I usually just grease my scalp twice a week with blue magic !!
Wonderful job learning a lot watching you.where can I find that red tail comb
Got my very 1st silk press today and boy was it a disaster.😢
