Just got this unit installed. Really really nice bright and clear display. Tons of features too! Not a fan of Carplay, so I am super happy i can mirror at least. Too bad it can't store any music within the unit. This is my first Kenwood in quite a few years and i am happy so far. I wish there were more advanced videos going through some of the more hidden features.

There have been receivers in the past that offer internal storage ability, however, in practice proved to be too difficult and impractical to transfer large amounts of files, and often the HDD would fail due to harsh vehicle conditions. The best option is to use USB storage for large file collections and access them directly from the receiver via the USB input. This provides the best of both worlds. Thanks!
I've been looking at this radio to upgrade my DNX955S. I really like the blindspot feature for when I'm pulling my boat. Is the blind spot camera the same cube style as the rear camera? Thanks!
Our receivers accept both Universal and KENWOOD-specific cameras, at this time KENWOOD only offers Front/Rear Cameras in the Cube style that can be used as a side view if desired. They are not intended or fitted for that specific application but will work the same. Thanks!
Hello kenwood, I bought dnr1007xr unit along with RR2 . Sadly I don’t have tpms system in my car. I want to install aftermarket tpms system, Like usb tpms. How can I install app in the unit to connect with TPMs?
The TPMS info is provided via the Can-Bus systems, and the iDatalink Maestro RR Module reads as data from the OEM systems and displays that reading on the receiver via the Data connection. It will not work with aftermarket TPMS Systems. Thanks!
We'd suggest reaching out to a local shop because there is a way to install a maestro RR2 in a "universal" mode that would still allow you to use the accessory controls even though the vehicle isn't covered!

Tortured Soul, you can control screen brightness in 2 ways. One is wiring up your dimmer wire to switch the screen brightness when you turn on your headlights or under Setup>Display & Button>Dimmer> and select from "on" "off" and "SYNC" (this will activate dimmer with time-based on GPS location) The second way, press the volume knob>select "Screen Adjustment" from the drop-down menu and adjust "Backlight" to dim the screen manually. From the same drop-down menu, you can also choose "Display OFF" providing a black screen but continued playing of your audio. Thanks!
