Jamie Lyn thank you! I love watching your videos! As a student it’s helpful to feed off of someone else’s experience and passion for this! I see that sonography is a much smaller community compared to nursing. I wish more people could post videos like you.
Would you make a video about how you got into neurosonography, was it right after school? Also, what is the best way to transition it to an ultrasound specialty. For example, right now I do general ultrasound however, I would like to eventually work it a vascular lab. What would be the process of getting there?
I sent you a DM on instagram with questions about Neurosonography! Can you make a video about how you became a Nuerosonographer. There aren’t a lot of videos out there. I really need some guidance and help with sonography!
Me 4 lol . I see vascular , echo , general ab , ob sonographer from colleges so where do you get this certified job title in neuro? I live in Seattle area so how do I find out our salaries per speciality ? Thanks in advance !
I'm turning 31....would you recommend me to apply for a 2 years sonography program? I might not get in until 32-33 yrs old . I haven't started a family yet.
Hi there, Jamie! I am going to school for sonography right now. Do you have any videos about the different types of injuries or pain sonographers get on the job? I love your videos btw!
Hi! this is soo helpful, thank you! I am looking into Cardiac Sonography, specifically in Pediatrics. Do you have any advice (if it is even possible) on if I should go into adult echocardiography and then get a license in pediatrics or is there a way to get more licensure doing one or the other? I didn't really think about it until you mentioned getting licenses for OBGYN and not sure what licenses I can get for cardiac sonography. Additionally, I think I would eventually get a license/certification in Neurodiagnostic as well. Thank you!
You mentioned neurosonography. On the ARDMS website they say that neurosonography as a credential or specialty was discontinued/put on hold several years ago. I'm curious as to how you got a neurosonography position. And is it still something a sonographer can specialize in non-credentially? If I wanted to focus on neuro as much as possible, should I do RDMS or RVT?
I am from Venezuela and in my country was a doctor gynecologyst but here I am sonographer and I would like specializated about perinatology. What do you think about it? Is the pay is good? Thank you for your advice.
Your videos are everything!!! Thank you for taking the time to make them so well. I’ve been searching for months for an informative mentor like channel like yours. I went through a bachelors degree program where I did 2.5 years at the university and now transfer to a sonography program for 1 year of didactic and 6 months of clinical internship. Does a bachelors of med imaging give me any kind of advantage? I would like to teach someday. Also in March my program has us choose a track between cardiac, vascular and general and I’ve always loved the variety of abdomen and I love the reproductive system but I’m concerned about job outlook and opportunity for advancement in general. It seems all the job openings are in vascular or cardiac.
Thank you!! 💕 Echo definitely makes good money but I like you like variety so there is no way I could only do echo! And yes having a medical background will help you get in the program before anyone else and the fact that you already know the terminology and all the things. Also if you want to teach you already have your Bachelors and that is a step in the right direction!! Best of luck to you hun! 💕

Hello Jamie, I am so happy I found your channel, getting extra information before I start the sonography program. Correct me if I’m wrong, I read that for the pediatric cardiac sonography field, there isn’t a program. Would I need to get licensed in cardiac sonography and then specialize on peds? I wanted to get your opinion on how to go through that process if my goal is to become a peds sonographer. Any advice you can give would be great! Thank you so much...🙂🤗
I had the same question because this is the path I'm going to take too. I asked one of the instructors in the Cardiovascular Sonography program I'll be in next year, and she said once I graduate and get my registry for adult echo, I have to work on peds for a certain amount of exams or hours, and then I can take peds exam.
I absolutely love your videos and I definitely appreciate them. Is there anyway you can do a video covering ultrasound physics? Is there a lot of math involved with it?
Awww thank you so much!! I’m going to be honest I’ve tried to block that part out hahaha jk I’m sure I can come up with something! I will try and record something (hopefully I can come up with some physics content) tonight or tomorrow! 💕
How did you get into neurosonography? I’m a senior in high school and I want to get into it but there are no programs near me. Should I go into a general sonography program and get an associates after two years then take a certification course for neuro after. I’m still confused on how it works. Thanks
No sure if this is a dumb question but how do know all the license you need/can get under OBGYN and where do you do them after you graduate from your schools program? Sorry also how long does it typically take to get them
Hi Jamie, Do you need to complete a general sonography program before becoming a cardiac sonography? Or Can I take a cardiac sonography program directly? Thanks!!
Hi Jamie Question. I was thinking about going to school for echocardiography- cardiogrphy technology, would that be similar to RDMS? It says that with the completion of this program that it would fulfill the prerequisites to take the Registered Cardiac Sonographer (CCI) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer Exam (ARDMS). Do you think I would need to do anything else to aquire this? Ty for your time and help.
Hi, how does prn work as a sonography? Can you apply for positions at more than one hospital to increase your chances of getting a call? I would want to work days Monday to Thursday with Friday, Sat and Sunday off. Is this possible with prn or would finding a part-time position better? This would be for Cardiovascular Sonography.
hi, question my School offers both cardiac and medical sonography programs and I'm struggling to decide which one to apply to. id love to do ultrasounds at an ob but it would also be nice to specialize in just one organ any suggestions ?
That’s awesome and yes you can definitely specialize and it is my personal opinion but I think for me the best way to go was general and then I specialized in what interested me which ultimately led me to MFM and now owning my own studio 🥰
Hey thanks for all the info!! Have a couple questions you might be able to answer.. are there any sports or fitness specialities in ultrasound? Such as a sports team, physical therapy clinic, etc. also, Is there any advantages of having a separate bachelors degree? I have one in health science and feel like I’m going backwards in terms of education
To be honest I am not too sure but I would think that there is especially in football if you take a big hit you could rupture organs... great question!
I love watching your videos 💜💜 since i was 15 I've wanted to get into this field but i now have a 2 year old at age 21. I'm hoping one day to graduate as a ultrasound tech. Any tips for being a parent and trying to take this path in career
Hello, Could you please guide me on how to become a neurosonographer? Do i take my regular course and then certify in neuro? Sonography schools also teach this? Thank you so much for the help! 💖
Hi Jamie, one of the requirements to get into my dms program of choice is "A minimum of 800 hours of paid or volunteer patient care experience: and paid hours under the supervision of an R.N., P.A., R.D.M.S, R.T., M.D., or D.O."...how do I get direct patient care experience without any prior experience of caring for patients? Every volunteer agency I have contacted so far said I will not be working directly with patients because I am not authorized to do so, I can only do clerical work and stuff like that. I am so lost please help lol
That is ok, I worked in a dental office prior and that counted, basically I would volunteer or work as an admin assistant, dental assistant, medical assistant anything in a medical office should suffice! You can do it girl!
I love your channel. I have a question. There's a neuro sonography program in my area. Is it possible to become certified NS and cross train or do I have to go back to school to be certified in other areas?
Has anyone attended the accelerated ultrasound tech program from AZ heart foundation institute? The program seems great, but I can’t find any personal reviews for it. Thanks in advance for any help or reviews!
I would love to make a video about it BC I feel that everyone has a different situation but as far as I go I love it and my home work life has a good balance
Hi! I'm getting ready to apply to a 2 year associates General/Vascular DMS program. Would I need to go back and get additional schooling after the degree to obtain these specialties like the Pediatric, Neuro, Fetal Echo, Cervical, or Breast certifications? Thank you so much! I aspire to be as successful as you are!
Do you know If you can get a job with just a certificate or do you neeeed an associates degree? I’m starting college soon and all they have available is certificates for ob sonography
I am sure you can, however, with a degree it is pretty difficult finding a job as someone right out of school because most places want experience. I would definitely call around to make sure before wasting your time and money. Also check the CAHEP website to make sure your school that you choose is accredited. Thank you for watching my videos!! Best of luck to you!
I'm currently in in a cardiac sonography program and it is amazing! It is challenging but that's what makes it fun. I can't wait to finish.
That’s so awesome!! Congratulations and best of luck to you!! 💕

Aww thank you so much!! I wish I could post more videos of what I actually do instead of just talking about it. But thank you for watching!!
Are you doing it from Canada?
Any updates 😍
I just passed my SPI exam. I'm so happy. I can't believe i pass, hahaha.
Yay!!! Congratulations 🎉
Thanks You. I'm from Puerto Rico and I love your videos.
Thank you!! My husband is Puerto Rican but from NJ and family from PR and we love it there! 💕
I want to ask few questions
How?
Can you make a video on neurosonography? There isn’t much videos out there on that field. Love this video❤️.
I'm going for cardiovascular sonography, my goals is to become a pediatric cardio sonographer
That’s awesome!! Best of luck to you! 💕

Can you do a video talking about how you get more licenses ? I know the program I am going into only covers ob/gyn, general & vascular.
Yesssss
TO ADD ONTO THAT HOW OFTEN DO YOU HAVE TO RENEW YOUR CERTIFICATE TO CONTINUE WORKING AS ULTRASOUND TECH?
Yes please!

Yes please!!

you’re eventually going to be 34/35..so might as well be 34/35 AND be a diagnostic medical sonographer :)
