Explaining this solely because it can be very vague about this specific mechanic.
Everytime I watch new player and see voidwalkers kill them I'm reminded how terrible the voidwalker system is. It's designed to screw over new players.
Deepwoken is definitely more beginner friendly than it was on release, be thankful for the markers, map, and objectives. We didn't have those back then and it was every man for himself

I didn't play this game yet or finish watching the vid but what happens after you die three times? and can't you theoretically log out / alt + f4 the moment someone wants to kill you? i mean if you aren't playing they can't kill you??
@ You get out in danger when in combat with a mob and player, leaving takes your life unless combat is over except for crashing obv. You don’t have “3 lives”, you become rusted if you die and go to the depths if you die again. If you die in the depths you wipe. You can escape the depths tho and if you poor up, you become unrusted. You can also go to the depths on purpose and comeback to lose rusted. Hope that explains it. You can log before anything hits you and puts you in danger if you’re fast enough.

6:43 There is an origin called Deepbound where you spawn in the Depths and must level up there. Doing this origin gives you an item called Call of the Deep, which is what that guy used. It just sends you to the Depths

You could definitely make this a series, watching new players play this game is some of the most funny things ever, im currently on day 2 of the video and some tips i have would be to try to react instead of predicting, it makes combat much easier, also if there are weirdos in your server who are randomly attacking you for no reason, just log with the door button, at least until you can defend yourself, and finally if you know anyone or can meet someone to teach you the basics you should look for how to make builds, basic macanics and some things the game just doesnt tell you
Some good common knowledge not in my og comment would be this, typing mb all in chat removes your combat tags, you get those when hitting or being hit by players and when having them you can't get mob healthpacks, another thing is there is a parry cd so if you're getting hit alot don't spam f, it's more worth to wait a second and take one hit so you can be ready to time your parry for the next one
When your blue bar below the greenish bar is filled press g to get out of combos Btw crypt blade is one of the rarest weapons so do not use it untill you really get the hang of the game

Just a little tip, always have shift lock on in this game as right click lets you feint swings and mantras to bait out player attacks. It is also just easier. It's kinda like playing dark souls with M&K
small tip for combat that i noticed you really disliked: when you get hit, you are staggered, which prevents you from jumping, dodging, and attacking. in that case, use a parry, which can be used during a stagger, but if you miss the timing, you get punished even more. alternatively, you can vent by clicking G. this will release you out of any stun at cost of 40% tempo.

If you ever want to try one of the attunements (your magic) you can choose random attunement when making a new character and itll auto select one of the 4 main attunements unlock it perma. There are also two attunements you have to unlock by doing a quest, at 11:25 Is ironsing one of the quest attunements.
Also at 6:27 the weapon the guy gave you is a legendary attunement weapon that uses Shadowcast, the second quest attunement one you meet the requirements to equip it it will become soul bound and wont drop on death.
Btw u have 2 lives befor eu go to the depths. When ur hp bar looks "dirty" it means you have 1 left and if you die will go to the depths. power increase up restores ur life.

If the skull above is purple, you are in PVE. You can regain health by knocking over or killing an NPC. If the skull is red, you are in PVP. You can only gain health by knocking out players. You can say "mb (character name)" to remove the player tag from a specific person, or "mb all" to dismiss it from everyone you have hit.

I've been playing since 2022 and to this very day, every single time I see a voidwalker kill new players it reminds me how much I dislike the pvp. Here's a fun fact, before verse 2 released, verse 1 had a system called luck. Luck was directly tied to how good your build was (Governed if you got "rare" cards or not), the way to obtain luck was by killing other players. The fact that luck existed until 2023 astounds me more and more every time I think about it. Another interesting thing is that you use to be able to roll Oathless as a standard card. Edit* also very entertaining and hopefully you stick with it (as long as its fun to you) long enough to teach others how to actually begin playing.
Can’t wait to see how you would react to bosses and getting bell. Bell is basically a extra ability once you have it you will know. There is also different type of bell. The gay in the beginning who used the red and black thing on the ground that is a reaper bell it grip down player and heal the user. Bell can come in 4 different class the one in blue is normal, red is corrupted, and white is legendary, wield blueish white I'd drawn. I put them in order from least rare to the rarest hope this helps when the time come.

Tip: I recommend doing build no shrine also you have echoes waste them on knowledge since that’s how you get pre-shrine builds and look up build become strong. One of first bosses you should fight is ferryman he is not that hard watch tutorial and also too heal just go in the beach where you leave you’re boat place camp and heal while fighting g ferryman he can’t reach you there Do not switch weapons type when you already invested mastery unless you’re looking for hybrid weapon
Out of all the origins deepbound is the fastest to progress in, gives the best loot, and to me, it's the funniest. It's easy to do with a friend or other people progressing.
So for any new players👇👇 Starting, head to Erisia. Then proceed to the bandit camp. Grind bandits until you hit level 10. Then proceed to grind megolidaunts(sharkos) until level 13. Then sail around the sea looking for islands, and clear those for xp and treasure. This is especially helpful because while you are at sea, you can't get voidwalked. Please leave a like if this helped😁😁
Quick tip: do the trial of one. It will dhow you how to fight things and from my knoledge, even if you die u wont lose a life and u can get like 7lvls. Downside is, its only available for lvl 1
By the way, there are 6 attunemnts, two of which you can't get by choosing random in your character select. With leveling up attunements, with 10 stat points, you got 0 star mantras with 20 you get 1 star mantras 30 is 2 star mantras 50 is 3 star mantras.
My tip for any new person spawn at vigils fight the npc and then go to erisia and fight the mudskippers(monsters on day 4) don't kill them just parry them to the point yu got the hang thats how I learnt

So for any new players👇👇
Starting, head to Erisia. Then proceed to the bandit camp. Grind bandits until you hit level 10. Then proceed to grind megolidaunts(sharkos) until level 13. Then sail around the sea looking for islands, and clear those for xp and treasure. This is especially helpful because while you are at sea, you can't get voidwalked. Quick tip: do the trial of one. It will dhow you how to fight things and from my knoledge, even if you die u wont lose a life and u can get like 7lvls. Downside is, its only available for lvl 1

By the way, there are 6 attunemnts, two of which you can't get by choosing random in your character select.
With leveling up attunements, with 10 stat points, you got 0 star mantras
with 20 you get 1 star mantras
30 is 2 star mantras
50 is 3 star mantras.

if you are above 60 hp and your being attacked you can leave the game on time but only if your above sixty hp
My tip for any new person spawn at vigils fight the npc and then go to erisia and fight the mudskippers(monsters on day 4) don't kill them just parry them to the point yu got the hang thats how I learnt
still cant believe they made the bandits stronger, these poor freshies😭
