Fun fact from an ex-nandos employee: Extra hot is literally just more of the hot sauce applied when it's on the grill. It's not actually a different sauce or spice level.
Yeah that’s just from I’ve seen working on front grill.
makes sense considering some places extra hot is way hotter than others. I guess its down to however generous the cook gets with the sauce.
In australia we have a entirely different sauce for xtra hot

Our most requested chain! Unfortunately there are no Nando’s on the west coast. Luckily our friend Medha stepped into help us out. She did an awesome job! I’m so jealous they got all that delicious chicken...

I’m so blessed that I lived in a US area that has Nando’s, especially since the place I worked had one inside of it. As I’ve now moved to the UK, I definitely miss the chicken thigh skewers plus sangria and am surprised about how many more chips we get in England. But the halloumi and vusa sauce are amazing (even though the sauce isn’t hot at all)

I love how in the us they say jumbo cause they know someone will eat the whole thing by themselves but in uk they say family. Lol
Nope, jumbo and family are usually just different sizes lol. I’m sure there are a few people that would eat a family by themselves too though lol.
Those are two different options if you rewatch that section they literally say the jumbo comes with extra portions for “One” person while the Family UK is a group meal made for separate people
UK menu had it as Jumbo until about a year and a half ago

If you want proper spice you need to try the South African nandos. You can legitimately feel the spice burning your lips and you cry a lil
I will say tho, their heat levels went down. I remember as a child, having the extra hot burn your lips to the point where you sit with a cold cloth or something over your lips to soothe the burn. That just hasn't happened again and I miss it

ahggg i’ve been waiting for this but omg i work at nandos in the US in the dc area and somethings were unfortunate to hear :( we do sell the whole chicken it’s about $20 and you don’t need it in a meal, also we sell our wings in 6 as well so it’s not just 12 or 24 and we have 3 for the kids, and in the US you can add chicken to a sandwhich just tell the cashier press the add chicken and it will be the same flavor you chose prior, also we have peritamer and it’s used on the kids menu usually but customers also order it, and lastlyyy we also offer the cara viva white and red wine because they’re the house wines of nandos in the US but omg that garlic perinase sounds good mhm but overall i lovedddd the video so happy y’all finally did this!

Being from South Africa I really love this nandos addition. Now I'm craving it and it's 3am😭
I’ve been to the Nandos in Maryland. The chicken is good and I’ve had the livers as well, also good. The thing that I like about Nandos is that it’s marinated and grilled/broiled. They also have sides that are not fried and taste like homemade not fast food versions, like coleslaw and mashed potatoes. You can also specify the level of spice for your chicken.
We need an Insider episode on how Food wars are made/filmed!

I went to Nando’s in South Africa and absolutely loved it, glad they’re coming to the states

We don't have Nando's unfortunately in NY (although they definitely should expand to other states; NY metro also has a sizeable Portuguese community so they'd do well), but my local market has their peri-peri sauce so it's the closest thing I'll get to a Nando's for the time being. I use it to make Chicken Mozambique. But seriously the fact Nando's isn't all over the US is a SIN
I will say as a former nando’s employee the chicken comes in twice to three times a week fresh. Also in the states you can get peri tamer it’s secret. And the corn is something you can get in the states during summer because it’s in season.

@@swayfitness5777 Nando's has been in South Africa since the late 1980's and has grown to be almost as popular here as the other big fast food franchises like KFC. The only thing stopping it from being as big as other chicken fast food places like KFC is their price. Nandos is considerably more expensive than KFC, mostly because they are much healthier than KFC, and so KFC has a competitive advantage in that regard. South Africa has a large population of Portuguese that came over in high numbers from Mozambique in the 1970's (when the Mozambican civil war started after they got independence from Portugal) and there are now 3rd and 4th generation Portuguese citizens who grew up in South Africa and our culture is well known in SA, further contributing to Nando's popularity. The main difference I can see between Nando's in SA and the UK is that here it's fast food chain. It's fancier and a bit more upmarket than a typical fast food restaurant but fast food nonetheless. In the UK it seems to be more of typical sit down restaurant kind of experience. But believe me when we say it's highly appreciated here. It's become a big part of SA culture even though it's roots are Portuguese/Mozambican in origin.

My favourite Nando’s here in uk is- chicken breast burger with mango and lime sauce (or lemon & herb if mango lime & lime is unavailable) served with a side of chips & a side of spicy rice.

Probably because of the poverty rate. Not crapping on SA, but it's not exactly a developed country, and the wealth disparity is much more extreme.

best thing about nandos you have many diffrent options weather you want mild ,hot , extra hot , lemon pepper , you could also add variety of sauce another thing i love about nandos is there per peri fries i generally ask for peri peri salt packet then sprinkle it on wings n it gives so much flavor my god long live nandos

Nando's is incredible. They don't have it here in my home country, but I tried it once in Malaysia and until now I can't forget how delicious it was
