IPs are essentially immortal, so there is no reason that at some time in an unspecified future lost glory can be recaptured through the efforts of creative people. If KK can decree that the extended universe is not canon, then nothing prevents a future IP holder from decreeing Disney SW is also non canon. The downside is this will never happen under Disney. Is this Kathleen's Endgame and final FU to Lucas and former SW fans? That feels like the kind of thing revealed by the villain after a lot of confusing actions that only seem to cost money at no benefit.

This idiotic idea of making The Force into a living person sounds awfully like the last couple of seasons of The Flash where not only the Speed Force but all the other Forces of the Universe were given physical forms. Idk if it was a concept lifted from the comics, but it was stupid on the show, and considering the brainpower that went into The Acolyte, it sounds like a really bad idea steeped in Kathleen Kennedy TARD-isms.
You’re right, it is both sad AND also a genuine opportunity for creative people with original ideas. Nature abhors a vacuum, so this wasteland of writing skills will undoubtedly bring about a return from new to be heard and talented Storytellers :)
