More like adult rated production, with operatic singing and music, similar to opera. Left after 1 hour. Opera is not the best composition of Shostakovich, largely compensated by large number of artists, bugger, car, lift, etc. Distorted perception of russian culture. I doubt Shostakovich portrayed Katerina in this way...

Yes I agree, because Katarina Ismailova was definitely a real person of the 1800s and should only be portrayed realistically!
