- BILL SEACASTER: BILL BILL BILL BILL
Fantasy High: Junior Year, Season 3, Dimension 20, Dropout
Episode 13
Brennan Lee Mulligan, Ally Beardsley, Lou Wilson, Emily Axford, Brian Murphy, Siobhan Thompson, Zac Oyama
Dungeons and Dragons, DnD, Critical Role
Captain Seacaster is girlbossing the Nine Hells with that MLM
I thought you were talking about MLM male love male and it took a rewatch to realize you meant multilevel marketing. Unless there's something I missed, in which, i would like to be enlightened.
@@TheSkyCaptainCannae it be both?
@@Zurie It absolutely can. I didn't think Captain Seacaster had a male lover tho. I'm unsure bc I don't have a subscription, I did but not anymore. And in this clip they're mostly talking about business.
@@TheSkyCaptain Marxist-Leninist Maoism
@@TheSkyCaptainI wouldn’t be surprised if captain seacasters sword swung both ways
Riz being so nervous about Fabian getting a tattoo while also being covered in tattoos himself is the energy I am bringing to the function 😂
To be fair Riz was off his tits high while getting his tattoos done
I completely forgot Riz was tattood😭
to be fair, it was a tattoo gun big enough to tattoo a dragon's ass!
it's just because the tattoo gun is like three times the size of Riz
@@mintmittens true - guessing Riz didn’t need a shoulder mounted tattoo gun for his 😂
underrated bit is the banker being held at gunpoint and he just points at fig and goes "okay. illegal."
I'm a front door security guard at a hospital emergency room. Had a guy that was very unstable for a variety of reasons come in and pull a knife on me, and what I could think to do was say, "Sir, those are not allowed in here, you'll have to take that back outside." which he did.
@@deltablaze77 It's always funny when shit like that just... works, haha
Choosing to give someone disadvantage is one of the funniest things you can do in DND imo
I'm reminded of Matt Mercer voluntarily going prone to sulk in Escape from the Bloodkeep
it gets even funnier when you remember that riz is canonically covered head to toe in ill-advised tattoos 😭😭 like if HE of all people is acting that apprehensive it damn well better give you disadvantage!
@@sidhackney8831you have unlocked a core memory
I love how Brennan just rolls with the bits in this clip. Adaine just goes "He's in the cupboard !" and no roll needed, Brennan just makes it true for comedic purpose. Great stuff
you should absolutly not make your player roll for every thing. it slow the game break the flow of the action and can make a situation go out of control (which can be fun but not always)
I love Bill spending several minutes describing how to grab a banker by the nuts. True Chaotic Neutral
Chaotic Neuter
I thought he was Lawful Evil. Isn’t he still an archdevil? (I’m not up on what’s going on.)
@@GZilla311 That's FR canon, Spyre technically doesn't necessarily go by the same rules. And in post 5.1, alignments are more like suggestions than hard and fast rules, if that makes sense.
As per Brennan, Bill is absolutely Chaotic Evil.
@@willcaster819he is chaotic evil, but chaotic evil that loves his son and his son’s friends
Bill Seacaster is somehow both the best AND worst parent in D20, and I don't know how he does it.
"I'll write you a fake agreement for forty gold"
I mean, sounds like an agreement for a fake agreement so :p
Idk about magical warlock law, but as far as real contract law is concerned, I'm pretty sure this is fine. If neither party wants to enforce the contract, then neither would ever sue the other, so there's no issue here. The purpose of a contract is it's enforceable by law. But if the signatories are the only beneficiaries from the terms of the contract itself, and neither of them brings an enforcement action, then there's no third party with standing to demand it be enforced.
@@chickensangwich97 Genuinely thanks for the info! I will be using this for evil (/j)
@@IrisGlowingBlue Obligatory "I am not a lawyer, I'm just a student"!!!
i havent completely discarded the idea that bill just scammed fig into, technically, becoming her patron. because she has 1 level of warlock but "no patron". technically its herself but in all the magic mumbo jumbo with the armor of sin and the curse on gilear we saw earlier, these rules are loose enough that i think this is enough of an opening for bill to weasel his way in. he specifically said his warlocks pay him gold as part of their contract just moments prior and then penned a contract for her.
we ASSUME that this is meant to be just a generic contract that she can turn in as an assignment for her warlock class, but it's odd that this "generic contract" specifically mentioned the exact same amount of gold that she JUST paid (via a loan from fabian, of course). it really makes it seem like she just paid 40 gold to become a warlock of bill seacaster!
I like how he doesn't charge for the guns but charges for the contract.
Considering the fact that it's a 'semi-automatic flintlock pistol' as well - that's gotta be worth more than 40 gold.
After hearing “He in the cupboards”, I expected Brennan to say “roll initiative”
The energy throughout this episode was SO wild, not least thanks to old Bill. I loved every minute of it.
Any episode with a Bill Seacaster appearance is always fun
Slowing realizing the context as the video went on as someone who doesn't watch the show made it even better:
Ok a pirate, ok a warlock patron, ok a devil, A PIRATE PATRON DEVIL WHO IS ALSO A PC'S DAD AND THATS HOW HE KNOWS THE BANKER
Bill Seacaster definitely warrants that kind of excitement lmaooo the entire concept of this character is WILD. if you want context Fantasy High is on youtube!!
He's not even her patron.
@@getheidea I want a one shot / spin off of Bill Seacaster Adventures where someone else DM's and Brennan gets to go absolutely batshit crazy.
@@Alconium my DREAM is a Bill Seacaster & Pok Gukgak unlikely buddy cop hell adventure. DM Murph plays Pok, Brennan plays Bill, and the rest of the PCs are various angels/devils reluctantly working together to solve some interplanar shenanigans
The idea of coming into this with zero context is wild to me and I love you for it.
Bill Seacaster renaming Goldenhoard to “Goldenrod” as his ship is the ultimate amount of disrespect to put onto Kalvaxis.
"STAND STILL WHILE I TRY THIS" HAHAHAHAHA LMFAOOOO THIS IS SO FUCKING FUNNY
"Anyone staying with Bill is just gonna have more of this shit happen fast and crazy"
this scene made me realise how much i love a lou character who calls his father 'papa'
Everyone in this group is so good at “Yes and”, I LOVE the chaos 😂
The energy of this episode is IMPECCABLE
I’m not sure whether I’m happy or not about Fabian not getting around to saying that Chungledown was his other nemesis
I think Brennan was fishing for exactly that before Beardsley said Gertie is Kristen's girlfriend
@@jimmy_the_squid9456 She cuts off players a lot. Been an issue since season 1, BUT, I will say, she's been so much better about it this season. Honestly, she just feels more respectful this season and her actually knowing the rules makes it so much more enjoyable. No more worries about her casting shield as a cleric or the infamous ice feast.
@@gabrielbjornursidae In absolute fairness, a party member’s girlfriend being his nemesis is likely spicier than ‘one of my warlocks is going after my boy with shit in his heart and coffee in hand.”
With the energy that was already in play, Bim would kick through the door to appear upon his name being spoken in Bill’s presence.
Pffh. You think Bill doesn't already know? There's a solid chance he deliberately made Chungledown *more* powerful just to give Fabian a true challenge!
I love the confirmation that Pok and Bill Seacaster are sort-of work buddies
He's a useful source of Intel! Like a mob boss who leaks info to the FBI!
1:24 I love that they all react to the short in order
If had a nickel for every time a MLM played a part in a Dimension 20 campaign, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird it's happened twice!
MY OWN BOSS... MY OWN BOSS? MY OWN BOSS!!!!! And then everybody is covered in pleasure putty
I think Pete was shortly involved in an MLM in unsleeping city
@@LiaaaaaaaaAAAAAHHWell we never knew who he was selling drugs for other than 53\/3N. He also signed Pete up with some Crypto, so that’s MLM-adjacent.
@@LiaaaaaaaaAAAAAHH didn't he bring down the MLM in season 2 with his tea?
@@officiallytrist1360 I must’ve missed that subplot, if indeed it was one.
That, or the most creative revision of a megacorp.
siobhan didnt have to roll for intimidation but adaine still got to come along and very effectively assist fabian and fig in tracking down hughes anyway
cool bit commitment and "yes, and" improv stuff from brennan there
Did he learn to write in hell
He had to make all them contracts
They’ve got a really good adult education program
+
"the font is called ROBOTO" gets me every time
Ally rolling a con save by themself is so funny
0:17 "And you'll learn to live with him in your heart! Or it's to perdition you'll be bound! Tippy tee tah tee tah..."
The fact that I rewatched the episode where Mr. Hughes was introduced before this ep because I was curious how Brennan set up that mystery. Bill talks about how both he and Hughes steal from people, but Bill is more honorable about it. (Also happens to be the ep where Bill gets sad about his son calling him a Privateer, so very fun to see the improved relationship Fabian has to his father's work.)
The amount of “yes and” going on in this scene is incredible
Tbh the best part about all of this that I noticed far too late is his ship's name the Goldenrod, which is what they kept calling Kalvaxus instead of his in-place name Goldenhoard, just to keep him annoyed eternally.
At last... Adaine's furious gun...
The Dads episode!!
I wonder if Brennan was fishing for Fabian to tell him that Chungle Down Bim was on his nemesis list. As one one his last few remaining warlocks, Bill Seacaster probably knew him very well
I believe bill specifically chose to keep chungledown Bim as a warlock so he can't get a deal with someone else
I love that Bill Seacaster is such a bad person, but such an amazing dad 😂
"we don't have to, we get to!" riz my absolute beloved
Murph giving disadvantage is the most "veteran d&d move"
God, I love this group so much.
I was high as heaven watching this for the first time, i was cackling silently and painfully trying not to wake my roommate.
It felt like some bitchassbard cast Tasha’s Hideous Laughter on me.
“One’s my girlfriend 🤓🥰”

I appreciate that so much 🥲
Between the Banker Assault clause and the 40 Chamber Flintlock, I don’t know which is funnier.
I love Riz so much 'We don't HAVE to, we GET TO!' He's so excited
i know it’s definitely just a forgotten detail, but in S1 Bill said he couldn’t read, so the agreement he wrote implies that EITHER he learned to read in hell OR he can somehow write but not read
"I have two nemesis."
"One is my girlfriend 😃"
Plz 😂
God I love this show
Hey Bill learned how to read and write!
Fabian: Would you tattoo me, Papa?
Bill: *Lie down.* 😈
Fabian: (immediately regretting) Uh, o-o-okay.
Bill: (with shouldermounted tattoo harpoon gun loaded with molten gold) *STAY PERFECTLY STILL, ME BOY!*
Fabian: (inelegantly gibbering in fear)
I love Emily's massive smile while she's pretending to spin a gun.
"Stand still while I try this" is such a funny thing to say while threatening someone.
Emily and Lou are actually the most chaotic duo in Dimension20 sometimes.
Absolutely impeccable
Fabian's Father is unintentionally amazing.
Honestly, the wildest part of this is Brennan fully improvising a solid contract.
"Get his teeth! Get his teeth!"
easy does it, easy does it
German Shepard pride? 😮🧐
