This was uploaded 6 years ago but it was actually filmed about 9 years ago and was the 1st real collab with Samuel Perry-Flavey. It's very Halloween worthy but it's Ren before treatment and you can see it , it's about the same time he filmed Crutch (which is also amazing).
This cinematically a homage to Hitchcock{Psycho), Romero(Night of the Living Dead), Kubrick(Clockwork Orange) and Friedkin(Exorcist), Gordon(Re-Animator)....Just my take.
The person Ren is operating on is Samuel, Ren's primary videographer who did MoneyGame 3 and many others. This was the first video they did together. Sam said the shots with the graffiti in the background were done under an overpass on the side of a road. A police car stopped when they were doing the graffiti and asked what they were doing. Ren said "Oh, someone sprayed graffiti on here, and some of it is pretty horrible. We're cleaning it off." The police then thanked them and left.
Yeah, first video Sam and Ren produced together. Cost ~50 pounds, about 60 USD, to make in its entirety. Someone might correct me, please do if I am wrong, but I believe the woman is Kit, the woman who spoke during Money Ties Bible intro. I want more creepy horror Ren. Soooooo good!! He needs to do a full Hitchcock music video, complete with Ren version cameos of various horror characters from throughout history. Commentary on how commercialized fairy tales and urban legends and myths have become.
@LiannaBabeli Ren and Sam have said that they have a full-blown concept for a series for Netflix. They're just waiting for the opportunity to present it to the powers that be.
LOL. One of your funniest? There was quite a lot of Hammer House, British film maker, of Horror vibes in that and also Clockwork Orange, which maybe you haven't seen? REALLY looking forward to the Christmas Special bloopers edition! 💖🤣
I am totally here for this chaotic video, for a chaotic music video!! I love them both!! Happy Halloween everyone!! P.s. I'm so glad Karen was out picking out a Halloween costume or something because all this was hilarious. And she wouldn't be happy. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yep now you set a precedent you both need to be up 24 hrs and then do a reaction! Just priceless!!! Have you thought about reacting to " would I lie to you? " game show series? Specifically with Bob Mortimer on the show!!
You will no doubt recall the battle between Ren and Dark Ren in both Hi Ren and Kujo Beat Down? Well, this is what happens when Dark Ren is making the music.
Happy Halloween 🎃👻 I can't intro with you sobbing! 🤣🤣🤣 Charlie was me everyday, "I'm gonna be fine, and then I acted not fine". Lol. After watching the cutting room floor I'm actually impressed the video was made at all 😂 I love you guys so much. Charlie get some 💤 before we have to smell the body! 🖤
your outakes bring me back staying up all night with my friends gaming when I was a teenager. We would laugh at the most stupid things. Not sure the term, but you get the giggles at 2:AM and just laugh at almost anything. So it is still a thing latter in life, I am going to have to put a name to it. Midnight giggles. Has something to do with over tired and your brain not working right, which brings you to laughter. Huh, just looked t up and >>>>>>>“It starts with the brain, specifically the prefrontal cortex,” he explains, adding that one of its primary functions is to regulate emotions and inhibitions-this is why babies and children (whose prefrontal cortexes aren't fully formed) are so easily amused. “In many ways, the prefrontal cortex works like the brake pedal for your emotions,” Dr. Shumway says. “Your nervous system is constantly reacting to the environment, and your prefrontal cortex has to decide whether to let the feelings out or not.” But when we’re overtired, the brakes get faulty and our prefrontal cortexes don’t have as much control. “Eventually they give up, and whatever emotion is present-laughter, rage, or sobbing, etc.-it comes out,” Dr. Shumway There you have it, thanks for your reaction and giggles lol, bye Mike
That wasn't anything like reggae, lol. People have a tendency to hear that reggae is ONE of (Ren's many) influences and then tell themselves they're hearing it in every other Ren song, even though the overwhelming majority of his songs have nothing to do with reggae at all. :) I don't know whether people just don't understand reggae, or whether they haven't had enough exposure to all the other genres and styles, contemporary and historical, to make the appropriate comparison, if any. It seems the most likely explanation is that people don't know a style and just decide it's reggae... because... :)
Ren uses the reggae beat( if nothing else) in a lot of his music. It makes people think of reggae even when it's not actual reggae. I heard Ren say in an interview that his parents listened to a fair bit of reggae and ska, which would explain the influence.

@ Yes! I know. I am so excited for it. Maybe we’ll get that commentary there, but I still want a horror song again.
IIRC, I thought he said it was filmed in a back alleyway /backdoor entrance to a pub or restaurant.

I disagree. It definitely has a reggae/ska/dub music vibe. The horns. Definitely.

@@jodiwest3534I agree. More ska than reggae for me.
