  • Curt Cavin, veteran motorsports writer, and Scott Goodyear, former race car driver and two-time runner up in the Indianapolis 500, chat about racing and track culture at the famed Brickyard, a National Historic Landmark.
    A longtime writer and editor at Indianapolis Star and INDYCAR and veteran of on-air television and radio work, Curt Cavin will work his 37th consecutive Indianapolis 500 in May. The co-host of “Trackside with Cavin and Kevin,” a nationally acclaimed radio talk show based in Indianapolis, Cavin currently works for Penske Entertainment, writing and telling stories of the INDYCAR Series and Indianapolis Motor Speedway.A Canadian former race car driver, Scott Goodyear drove in the Indy Racing League and Champ Car series from 1987 until his retirement in 2001, winning the Michigan 500 in 1992 and 1994. Qualifying for 11 runnings of the Indy 500 from 1990 to 2001, Goodyear’s second place finish behind Al Unser, Jr. in the 1992 race remains the closest finish in Indy 500 history. He was inducted into the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame in 2002 and the Ontario Sports Hall of Fame in 2014. After racing, Goodyear became a color analyst for ABC’s and ESPN’s coverage of the IndyCar Series, and he currently serves as the race director for both the Formula 4 United States Championship and the F3 Americas Championship.
