I started reading The Bhagavad Gita, Ramakrishna, Swami Sivananda, The Srimad Bhagavatam, listening to Hariprasad Chaurasia, L. Subramaniam, Sachdev, etc... when I was fourteen (now I m 53). omg ! I am in tears. I was in tears multiple times ! What a great civilization this Hindu civilization is ! Imagine some 6000 years ago when they first started this kumbh mela. The rishis went to the village after village, street after streets and invited all kinds of people irrespective of any caste, to gather at one place one in 4 years. And these people followed it for 100s of generations till this day. What kind of intention those rishis held in their hearts ?! What kind of efforts it took to assemble people in this scale when there were no facilities like we have today. And those sadhus, who spend their eyes closed most time of the year in remote places doing severe yoga sadhana. They also come to the venue at the right time without a proper sense of time keeping ! Omg ! This is truly mind boggling. And Sanatan Dharma is a spiritual free market. The greater the ideas and philosophies, the better and farther will be its reach. you can go to one tent and hear their version of "truth" and same way you can walk to a dozen tents and get dozen truths. @aah a thn u are born as a disgusting human coz u were born naked . The initial years of human civilisation were disgusting coz all humans were naked .
Indian religions makes sense in everything you throw at them. I realized after years n load of scriptures literature reading that Hinduism is most convenient pure and scientific religion to root for. You will definitely find your divinity there. These mega festivals are living example of it. For me compassion is everything so I've immense respect for India, India's spirituality is simply superior n incomparable.
Radical Hindu’s persecute Christianity and murder their followers, do your research ! Brutal beatings for worshipping Jesus. How is that perfect compassion?
Sadly Religion is very western word , it is culture we dont believe in the concept of religion 😅 But its okay what you think, personal opinion matters.
I will move to India. I hope to experience this gathering. Sanatan Dharma is the path found when I learned to calibrate the compass in my heart. True north will take me home, to Bharat Mata.
Kerala is a very beautiful place. You will find a different type of Hinduism here. The one which embraces tantra worship. Please do visit the temples. The atmosphere is so surreal and peaceful and silent... very unlike the temples in other parts of India. Another beautiful facet of Hinduism...which embraces all types of worship. Try liking/following pages like Ernakulathappan Temple Complex on FB... you will see worship of 3 different deities by 3 different sects in 3 different ways..all in a 25-30 metre radius!! Welcome to Kerala...God’s own country!!
@aah a Just like how most animals cannot understand the reason for a human to make art, similarly, you cannot understand the reason for these great men to be naked. Most animals would think that making art is a waste of time: it doesn't give you anything; it makes you look stupid. But, you don't think so, at-least I hope you don't. There's a difference in your consciousness compared to the animals'. There's probably many reasons for this, but I've only been able to understand 2 (main) from my limited interactions and understanding. Firstly, these men own NOTHING. And I mean nothing. No land. No house. No money. And, of course part of owning nothing is not owning clothes. They live by begging for food from others, and that's it. Why do they own nothing? If you don't own anything, that means you have no control over anything. No dominion, no lordship over anything. Meaning, no ego (Ahamkara). If you want to know why destroying Ahamkar is important, then read the Upanishads. Secondly, they own NOTHING. Yes, the same outcome can have more than one reason for its existence. They own nothing so that they're not attached to anything. No house (as I said already), no attachment to house. No clothes, no attachment to clothes. Again, if you want to know why attachment is bad, read the Upanishads. And lastly, because of attachment again. This time, it's not attachment to materialism, it's about attachment to what others think - shame. You would feel shame if you went out naked in the streets. But, these men don't. They're not attached to what others think. But it looks like you're Muslim, from your channel. So... You're probably not going to understand any of these reasons in much depth, similar to how I can't understand more (of what I'm sure of), profound reasons and effects.
I found this video 📹enlightents and informative with clear teaching what Hinduism really is, AMAZING AND BEAUTIFUL, makes me think 🤔seriously in Hinduism. Peace ✌Shalom Paz Love.
Prior to Colonization, of what is now America and from the beginning of time the Indigenous nations; the original people lived a spiritual life with knowing all rivers were sacred, mountains too, stones, trees, forests and all creatures - all creation was respected. Today many Native Americans still follow these sacred traditions- it is the organized religions that has separated the people from their ancient sacred traditions.
exactly right! It just so happens that india is the only place on earth where the colonisation of the divine soul and consciousness, was not fully achieved among the natives. It is the only pre colonial pre abrahamic native culture that has survived in its native land in the greatest numbers, and as a majority with almost full control of its indigenous culture and spiritual heritage, as a country
I am thinking about this every minute, how nature and cosmos are perfect, and is with it. How people lived in harmony with nature. I am thinking of going to Patagonia and then Nepal and India.
The people are so down to earth humble and simple which is a real down to earth religion which means their simple teachings are so effective that it holds the people together.
Religion is a western word, It is our culture, it doesn't restrict us to believe in one particular thing, if you dont believe in God you can still be the part of sanatan , their is no restriction or hindrance, You should follow Sadhguru to know more about it

its very anti west because of the one professor, I can understand why indians who understand history dont like the west but I think it doesnt help anyone if you talk bad about any culture to make your own look better, I liked the rest though
This documentary should be mandatory in Indian Secondary Education Syllabus without any doubt.... At least it can destroy the negative myths associated with our Sanatan Hindu Religion....and disclose the truth to the entire world... which actually spreads the secular culture and finds divine entity inside every living and nonliving subjects.... This particular thought and belief Swami Vivekananda also tried to portray about the Sanatan Hindu Religion.. where there will be no cruelties of casteism and unity despite a lot of differences...but at the end the rituals are being performed to unfold the quest of the god and to purify our soul with divine goodness and serve the mankind with selflessness and sacrifices for the betterment of the society.....Simply amaizing....I take pride in being a Hindu.... For everyone it says.... "ATITHI DEVO VABAH"...
@aah a Bro, being a non-Muslim its a matter of shame seeing Islamic people killing other religious people in the name of their religion increasing terrorism ,killing animals inhumanly in bakar eid and making people wear Burkha and not even allowing them to talk to other men except their husband, etc. And about Naga Sadha they are portraying that our life begins with no clothes and ends without anything and naga sadhus are the people who have left everything including house, family, clothes, etc and are in the way of learning the meaning of life and how to escape and get the real life as hinduism beliefs this world is illusion and if you're hindu your main aim is to break the illusion and know the meaning of life, follow karma and attain moksha.
Absolutely Amazing!!! So much to be learned from Indian culture by the rest of the world. ´incrível!!! O mundo tem tanto que aprender dessa cultura Indiana...

OMGG.. This is a very wonderful documentary. Thanks to the makers. This is how many can get knowledge about our great Baratheeya Samkara (Indian Culture). One can know about Sanathana Dharma. A very beautiful documentary. The best documentary on sanathana dharma too.. Once again thanks from the bottom of my heart.
Manoghar Letchimhnan The gap between our thoughts is shiva. "It" does not have a gender because it is formless. Shiva deity is a cosmic allegory just like Brahma and vishnu. Shakthi or the universe is part of it. So, neither shiva nor shakthi can exist without each other
@a w No one cares about Chinese Tao. Hinduism is the oldest religion and all other religions are either it's derivatives or a completely different ideology.
Thanks for making this documentary. I am Indian living in West for nearly 2 decades, one day soon planning to be back to my mother land Bharat. During these 17 years, my views took different shapes, at one point I even declared myself atheist. But as I grew older, realized that Religion is not about proving the point or comparing Gods, but it is about what it inspires oneself from within. A person finds what they seek, Swami Vivekanand found Sarvdharm Sambhaav & concept of Universal Religion/Brotherhood in vedic texts, while there are "Scholars" who write books or tweets on how ugly, oppressive, hateful Indian culture & Sanatan Dharma is, (for example recent tweets & publications from Rutgers University Professor). I wish Kumbh Mela gatherings keep inspiring present & future generations to live in harmony, stay connected to nature, selflessly help those in need & respect all forms of life. No God needs to tell human what is right and wrong, each mentally-able human being comes with this coding. Yes, but Dharma can bring people closer to good instincts, help them validate the voice of inner being. So, for me, my religion is inward looking, deeper you dive more valuable gifts one can bring for outer World.
I think that the whole world is some how related to sanatan dharma but because of some spiritual leaders we all got separated but every one is coming back to sanatan dharma by yoga or learning about India or sanatan dharma I feel so happy about people who know what sanatan dharma is May Lord Shiva bless the whole humanitie OM NAMA SHIVAYA🙏🏻

Temporary nature of Hindu traditions and culture is very much an aggregator of the economy, also that keeps people engaged in these activities thus passing it from one generation to another. Also, it is more ecological than having any permanent structure. This concept is very much in line with धर्म एव हतो हन्ति धर्मो रक्षति रक्षितः । तस्माद्धर्मो न हन्तव्यो मा नो धर्मो हतोऽवधीत्
@Prabodhani Barber Thats easy to say. Individual efforts can never match those of the governments. Thats what we have chosen the government for. To do our Job.
Are you proposing permanent structure "on" the Ganga river? If so, its an Insane idea. Come and visit during monsoon to know why its a foolish to even think of such. Moreover, there are many permanent structures all around Allahabad/Prayagraj and other venues that exclusively cater to the Kumbh's need.
Here we see freedom being practiced without fanfare of fuss. Americans could learn a lot, they talk about freedom with very little understanding what it really is.
That's just silly. Have you not even read about ongoing Muslim-Hindu riots? If Americans experienced the kind of religious violence that goes on in India, you people would be pissing your pants and running for the hills.

India's understanding that everything that comes from the earth is sacred makes me think about how the Natives in America always have known this too.
So natives and Indias were connected in ancient time ??
All humans with consciousness and not believing in tyrannical god see god in nature and diversity
Hinduism not claim monopoly over Truth, Yes if native Americans have raisen their consciousness, this truth is bound to realised.

Only few people would undestand that this is what civilization should be. Amazing ! Thanks for sharing a positive exposition on Hindu Culture.
Sadly Religion is very western word , it is culture we dont believe in the concept of religion 😅
But its okay what you think, personal opinion matters.

India is a golden bird, home of saints and rishis.....

We all are made of shiva and shakthi. There is no separate shiva and shakthi

Well done!
I think that the whole world is some how related to sanatan dharma but because of some spiritual leaders we all got separated but every one is coming back to sanatan dharma by yoga or learning about India or sanatan dharma
I feel so happy about people who know what sanatan dharma is

The Government of India should make permanent infrastructure to world class level for the Kumbh Mela. This is remarkable.
Very valid point.
Temporary nature of Hindu traditions and culture is very much an aggregator of the economy, also that keeps people engaged in these activities thus passing it from one generation to another. Also, it is more ecological than having any permanent structure. This concept is very much in line with
धर्म एव हतो हन्ति धर्मो रक्षति रक्षितः । तस्माद्धर्मो न हन्तव्यो मा नो धर्मो हतोऽवधीत्
NO, EMPHATICALLY NEVER?
The west is illiterate, and ignorant. Even the well educated are, however recently I have seen a turning point.
That's just silly. Have you not even read about ongoing Muslim-Hindu riots? If Americans experienced the kind of religious violence that goes on in India, you people would be pissing your pants and running for the hills.
