I've been your subscriber since your 10k. And this is my only request guys, this is my wife's favorite song and you guys are my wife's favorite reactor as well, please react to Kahit kailan by south border Live with Luke Mejares. I know that you already reacted to that song but that one is with Duncan ramos. Brix ferreris is the original vocalist of the band South border and he was replaced by Luke mejares and when Luke left he was replaced by Duncan. Just to give you a little bit of background of one of the best OPM band in the 90's.
Welcome to Aegis... The most popular female rockers in the Philippines. There's more Aegis songs that are higher than that. You'll be amazed how high and rockish their voices are. One example is "Sayang na Sayang" and there's a lot more.
Imagine this being sang by drunk older women on the karaoke. Some of them may not be able to reach the high notes but the confidence is always there. And it didn't matter if it was sang properly. When the intro comes, expect it's gonna be lit
though it's a song in the 90s, it's still being sang until today. Filipinos are well rounded when it comes to choosing songs. We can sing songs from Beatles' time up to this era, and it doesn't matter if you're a child or an adult singing.
The female musical rockers during that era were cool and had strong voices which can reach high notes. You should feature Sampaguita, another female rocker whose song were popularly sung by many fans. Can't remember the title but know the lyrics.
2 things good to know: 1)this band's songs were put together into a musical entitled RAK OF AEGIS. 2)Lea Salonga actually sang that song in one of her concerts!
Aegis was formed 1995 and this song 1998. Big big hit and is considered as an iconic song. This song and the others including "Luha," "Sinta," and "Basang-basa sa Ulan" are still being sung almost anywhere in the country. Everyone sings these songs but very few dare to use them for auditions because Aegis is a very hard act to follow:)
That song is popular in Karaoke/Videoke Bars and people are singing their hearts out just to reach those high notes and it takes more beers to gain confidence to sing. Hahaha
Aegis has been around for about 15-20 years, they, like a lot of bands started in the underground. They are what is commonly known as bands for the masses, because they primarily sang in Tagalog and often their songs are heart wrenching love songs, power ballads, with an old school feel. They are now just emerging in the last couple of years, for a long time, you only heard the songs, their voices, glad to see that now you can see their performances on video
Aegis is my best filipino band ever! All of their songs are my favorites and I played it on my playlists.. They are best of the best female band..most famous iconic band .They are band from 90's.. and there still rockin' the stage until now.
Glad you reacted to them cz they really deserve more credit than they get. They’re OPM (Original Pilipino Music) rock icons whose music is so widely known and sung by the masses. Even the crazy rich in their private karaoke sessions/events (believe me, I know ☺️). I wouldn’t want to call them novelty singers, but it may seem like it as their music is what you hear when you’re walking down the streets, or in the market, in the slums, or being belted out in the karaoke by drunkards in the neighborhood. Their vocalists are also so amazing. Their voices have had little to zero change they still sing their songs the same way they did over 20 years ago. Their songs are rock classics, and they’re street culture icons. They’re so iconic, a full musical, Rak of Aegis, was created just based off their music. 🙌🏻 They have sung together with Regine quite a few times. You may find other videos of it.
They're widely known means that they got the credit they deserved. They're not known worldwide because they didn't perform on world's stage. People can't get worldwide recognition while only performing tagalog songs for Filipino community.
@@eustacehendrix9659 I believe you missed the point of my comment. When I said they deserve more credit than they get, I meant giving recognition for their body of work, and that they should be taken more seriously as real artists (not mere novelty we’ve made them and their songs to be), and put on a pedestal among our other OPM icons. You know, even as simple as being reacted to by youtubers, or acknowledging their incredible skill and art, etc. Credit isn’t only about being widely known or popular. And global reach isn’t the issue here. ☺️
@@eustacehendrix9659 You have some practical sense, but I guess it’s time we change our perspective. Yours, is exactly why our art struggles to gain international recognition because we ourselves aren’t proud of our own. How come BTS global superstars when they only ever sung Korean songs? Why are Kdramas super popular even in far-flung areas in Africa? Why are Korean films being recognized by the Oscars, BAFTA, etc., nominated on the main categories when they are fully-Korean language films? I’ve been to Korea multiple times and I’ve observed that a majority of them can hardly even speak fluent English. But one thing is so true of them. It’s their nationalism and how they take pride in their own culture and art that makes them standout. That’s what we Filipinos must begin to understand and live out. ☺️
@@axelbordario6937 I don't think world recognition is a measure or testament of someone's art let alone singing or dancing. It's how it is being appreciated. And I will attest that during the Aegis hayday, although being popular in the country that time, were considered "baduy". Its time to appreciate them as the legendary artists they were, are and will going to be.
I'm turning 24 this April 30 and I have to say, this one is in my ALL TIME FAVOURITE SONGS. since childhood I always sang this song. Truly one of opm's treasures.
Philippine Rock is second to none 🇵🇭 We have heart in our music and in life. Thank you 4 featuring these legends, my moms era. I miss Aegis. They still play their songs on radios , that's our classic. 🇵🇭 it's uplifting
When I auditioned for high school choir in the early 2000s our professor told me to sing this song and I was like WTF 😅 This song is for belters and I am clearly not lol My voice almost cracked reaching the high note. It was embarrassing but thankfully I still got in 😂

Singing Sayang na Sayang in a videoke is a suicide. Lol
This group is amazing...the lead vocalist can easily belt and yet sound so controlled/balanced with the rest of the band. She's great!
Bayan Ko is one hell of "all up there notes" in the entire song 😂

this is freaking true! funny but true hahaha
This comment made my freakin night! 😂😂
It doesn't matter if you're all drunk xD
HAHAHA
. I even rap stupid love and banyo queen 🤣🤣🤣
It's not only Regine who's been regarded as power belter. Filipino artists look up Aegis too.
Agree😊
Husky vocals are rare and husky belters even more. KZ has similar voice timbre but she had polyps and can no longer reach those notes.
