With stuck circlips, it can often help if one uses a small drift, punch, or screwdriver to tap the clip in it's groove, it can unstick the gunk that's holding it and/or relase the pressure if the bearing, or shaft, is loading it. [edit, 'cause I got to that bit] A little more force than that... When using pullers, it can help if one has the shaft vertical* - sit the bellhousing on the floor (may need a couple of blocks if the input shaft is too long) and rest the gearbox on it on end. Making up a bracket from some scrap bar/angle iron that bolts to the bellhousing face, and that can be clamped in a vice, or hold the gearbox on the bench, can be quite helpful. *Same thing with fitting camshafts into push-rod engines - especially bigger 6 cylinder in-line ones - if the engine is sitting on the bellhouse end one can carefully lower it into place, rather than trying to hold it up and work it through the bores.
Where are you based Stephen I’d like you to do my box for me if you would. I’m tempted to try it my self watching this video tbh. I could always keep pausing it and going back yeah.
Thanks so much Stephen. I have a horrible vibration (feels Something is throwing the prop out of true) especially above 50mph and when I have just come off the throttle. I have had the diff rebuilt, Ive balanced the prop, now its gearbox time! I have around 0.25mm of out of round on the mainshaft? i guess that would be enough to throw the prop off?

Great videos, I have a loud jingling noise in 4th and 5th gears only, would that be the syncro rings failed?
