    I've seen a few reviews while I'm researching and everyone else seems to take out the base unit and tip it upside down into a plastic bag for disposal. I've never heard anyone else mention scooping the contents out by (gloved) hands! I have to say, tipping sounds more appealing than scooping!!!

    I really like the idea of this, but I'm struggling to see the benefits. When I'm travelling, I'm not thinking about fertilising my garden. If I still need to dispose of "ones" in a toilet and dispose of "twos" in a dump station, what's the difference between the cassette method? I appreciate less use of chemicals, and the need to dump less often, but aside from that, there doesn't seem to be much benefit. If it meant I could dump this "compost" anywhere (national parks etc) then it would be a game changer, but obviously that is not okay.

    Just wondering where the toilet paper goes after #1 and #2 thanks (great video btw).

      Thank you so much. We put the toilet paper in a bag. We have a little water proof bin near the toilet but we still take it out when we shower. I have heard of people putting it in the number 2 section but then the section fills up quickly and you have to clean it out a lot more. Hope that helps. All the best.

    Isn't it recommended online to NOT put the compost from a composting toilet around edible plants?

    My understanding is to make biologically safe compost requires 4 to 12 months.

    A better term is "dessicating toilet" as to safely compost this takes about 1 year on the long end. (Depending on climate and conditions)Dont put this on any plants you plan on eating before then. Fruit trees might be safe.
    Its not compost its shit and sawdust before compost.

    What if I dump it in the back of my neighbors pickup truck instead of their yard?

    Can you shower with the natures head toilet in a wet room in the van? Does any water get into the toilet?

    • @VanLifeTheory
      @VanLifeTheory  2 роки тому

      Absolutely. We did all the time and water never got into the toilet. After we finished showering. We would chamois the bathroom and toilet area.

    Hey guys, I have chosen the $560 Bowen Arrow Ultimate SC toilet and it's Aussie, any reason you didn't go with the Aussie composting loo...

      @@VanLifeTheory you're more than welcome, I love Aussie products, especially when they're easier to use and cheaper to buy and a bonus is they look better too.

    The Airhead composting toilet is a better choice, in my opinion, as you don't have to mess with #2 side when emptying the urine container. I think that the Airhead also looks better.

      It does but takes a month to ship so I bought a used nature's head instead.
