"What do you suppose he's thinking about?"
"Probably where the hell the end of the plank is!" 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
☠️😬☠️☠️
Yeah we watched it.
Smee was finally promoted to captain
Smee after Hook died
@@dabatman5187exactly 💯
lol loved this actor ❤
😂
"I wonder what he is thinking ?"
"probably where the other end of the plank is "
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
"any more talk like that, and you'll all walk the plank"
"any other plank and that'd be a hell of a threat" 😂
My favorite part😂😂
"run ahead of him and cut the plank shorter"
😂😂😂😂😂
lol except they could just cut it from where they are standing 😅
The pirate crew didn't realize the sailed right into ... THE TWILIGHT ZONE
I find it hilarious that in the end we see that the plank is actually not long at all.
The true plank was always the one we walked along the way.
I also like the spring.
Rest in peace, Bob Hoskins, you magnificent man.
He once said that his greatest regret was starring in Super Mario Bros.
@@WaitingtoHit he shouldn't, because I grew up watching him in that and he will always be Super Mario to me☺
@@GHC3 Ha, the guy had an excellent career otherwise, but he knew that was a God-awful film. Pretty much every time I see a worst-movies list, it's on there. A true disaster . . .
he was a treasure
@@GHC3 honestly, i think the SMB movie gets a bad wrap. sure, it's no masterpiece. but on the other hand, it's unique & for the time period when it was filmed - it had some very ambitious & dare i say even good special effects. The Super Mario Bros. movie may be on a lot of 'worst films of all time' lists, yet it's also become a cult classic. And if you really think about it... can anybody actually name a Super Mario Bros. movie or show that was really very good?
that said: i don't know MasterT - Hoskins was great as Mario & as Smee... but to me, he will always be Eddie Valiant.
i was expecting Will to walk like this around the globe and surprise them by walking of the plank to another side of the ship
That would have been hilarious.
But the plank wouldn't be straight. It would have to be basically a giant wheel. Don't be so silly!
@@jameslarimer9211 Give some time to think, it'd be hilarious and not as cringy as the original
missed opportunity. could have been hilarious.
will from behind: "sorry guys, the plank took me here" "but here i got you some chinese food" (chinese guy coming with a horse or something and chinese food for everybody)
You're too creative to write for SNL.
The plank that defied physics.
Love how you can see the end of the plank and springs underneath at the very end.
Bob Hoskins and Greg Kinnear, awesome.
I just want to praise SNL for all the years of joy and taltented people who have performed on your stage. All of you bring all of us, lots of joy and Laughter and more laughter!
Bob Hoskins was/is a national treasure.I don't care if he was actually British. We're claiming him.He belongs to the world.
He's great in "Mrs.Henderson Presents" with Judy Dench ...a must see if you haven't seen it yet! Excellent movie 😁
If there's one thing Americans learned from the British, it's how to claim things that aren't theirs lol
Touché
lol FACTS ❤ …loved him on Who Framed Roger Rabbit? too !🐰
I was gonna ask if that was Bob Hoskins.
R.I.P Bob Hoskins.
Shiver me timbers, I finally found the sketch Bob Hoskins was in. His only appearance on this sketch show.
I can confirm: 6years after upload he's still walking
They say he's still walking...
The earliest known reference to Davy Jones locker was by the author Daniel Defoe, published in 1726 in London. Captain Kid was executed in 1701.
I bet your the life of the party
@@Zenslav I am
@@alexandramarberry1023 nah
@@betsyduane3461 Those must be some sad parties.
This is the same joke that Will Ferrel does in the Austin Powers movies as Dr. Evils henchman.
Shocking how jokes from SNL make it into an SNL movie...
Austin Powers is filled with SNL rip-offs. Even the Austin Powers character was stolen from Dana Carvey, which was a sore spot for Dana for a long time. But hey, great artists steal, and if it works, it works. Austin Powers is a legendary comedy!
@@Elric54 Technically, it was the Dr. Evil character.
The Coneheads are from France.
As if Smee took Hooks wig and hat and fake eyebrows and beard and does a roleplay of Hook after his death ^^
The Young's Modulus of that plank must be enormous.
Funny. Could see him entering another country and being asked to show his passport. 😊👌🤣👋👌
i like that the captain wears specs
i love to find these gems i hadn't seen before.
So great. How did I miss this years ago watching SNL? 😝
This is just like installing a "small" game patch.
Pirate ship captain: Fire at will!!
Buccaneer named Will:
I actually laughed through the whole video!
It would have been funnier if he would have came back on the ship from the back side on the long plank! Lol 😂 🛳🛤🛤🛤🛤🛤🛤🛤🛤⛵🚣🏄🏄🏄🏄🤺🤺
Not only is that plank longer than the tallest tree, it is also apparently exempt from the laws of physics.
Correct!
Wow really. You must be smart
Not necessarily. The end of it could be held up by something. I always assumed that the end of it was in fact on shore!
Or it’s a special wood that doesn’t bend. Magical tree wood.
@@marcushendriksen8415 I was expecting that to be the ending. He made it too shore and sailed back on another boat with back up.
He was walking for a long time 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
“Damn that’s a long plank”
That's Brexit in a nutshell.
The only thing longer than that plank is this sketch.
S.C.: "I gave your mother a good long planking last night, Trebek! She said the only thing longer than that plank was my-"
🙂🤣🤣🤣
Lol 😂 🏄🎞🎞🎞🎞⛵🚣
not even a third of the way.
greg kinear
Ahhhhh, I was wondering who that guy was.
I couldnt stop laughing. Walk the plank. Who thought of this?
Tina Fey as writer, Lorne Michaels as producer, Bob Hoskins played in Hook, and Will Ferrell plays in Austin Powers.
What an adorable little cannon!
This is just unexpectable
LOVE THIS!!!!!
Showing a 10 feet plank at the end ruined it for me 🙃
why, were you holding all the lughs in? till there very end?
Oh, did you think they had an eighty foot plank?
@@Tubalcain422 he walked far more than 80 feet
@@God-mb8wi lol, do you believe in Santa Claus too?
Just watched it, a year later. The first thing that came to mind was how dumb it was to show the end of the plank.
I just realized, why is Bob Hoskins’ pirate captain wearing modern day spectacles? 😂
A classic! The ol' wrong long plank prank
This was the dumbest idea for a sketch but it actually was fairly funny.
@@aeroripper yeah they made it work, lol
Why are Kinnear and Hoskins seemingly BOTH guest stars/hosts?
Yeah I'm curious about this as well
Dunno, but I enjoyed them both and am glad they were.
@4:02 That sounds a lot like the voice Will Ferrell (aka Mustafa) used in Austin Powers when he broke his leg! haha
expected the footsteps to run at one point.
Same
5:17...love the camera pan out
Keep walking
If he runs all the way and gets in front of Will and cuts the plank, Will won’t be the one who falls into the drunk.
I think you mean drink.
Legend say he's still walking the plank
Comically long plank
talkin about "walk in the plank"
Now I get it! It's long😂
I feel like this skit could have been even longer.
Shmee moved up in the ranks!
only thing longer than that plank is this skit.
LOL my Covid neighbors walking around at night.
Yeah! More cowbell!
Cow bell?? It was effing dumb then, and time has proved me right.
I adored Bob Hoskins.
The spyglass 😭😭😭
all the bosses are here.
Rip Bob Hoskins, the best Smee of the 7 seas.
Is that Greg Kinear?
It's him.
That was a llllllooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggggggggggg plank.
i was all like,,, MARIO!!!!!! i was there!
Fun Fact; the boat was decommissioned and repurposed for tourism; “Hike the Plank”.
Fun fact: The world's longest Wooden Board is 152 Ft 7in long (46.53 m) and was made from a strong man competition in Szymbark, Poland June 9th, 2012. In technical terms, this wooden board in the sketch would have to at least be 5-7 times that length at an astounding estimate 1068 Ft (325.5264 m), HOLY SHIT. This cracks me up...
And 3 years after this we got Pirates of the Caribbean....coincidence?
That's time I'll never get back
Smee!!!!
take your time before you punish people to give mercy a time to deplete your anger
That plank was actually short. Lies. Shenanigans.
Shmee as Captain Hook... Who knew....
This is hilarious
I liked that!
whats up with the half a second long applause at the beginning
The only thing longer than that plank was this sketch
Hoskins completely owned the role, which most guests don't pull off
Truly. He played in Hook film.
Some say he's still walking.
The funny thing is, in the first shot of the ship you don´t see the very long plank ^^
I actually thought a fly had landed on my tablet when I caught your account picture out of the corner of my eye 🤦♀️
Is it just me or did the noise cut out for a sec in the intro
wouldn't the weight of the plank roll the boat though? You know archimedes and shit.
Is there a material which can come close to something like this?
imagine being will forte and knowing this sketch aired but it took 5 pitches to get spelling bee off the ground
great job ruining the bit, by showing the end of the plank
I wouldn't say they ruined it, as all the intended punch lines got played before the end of the plank is shown in the fade-out, but.. yea.. they could have used a longer plank, or at least not zoomed out in the end. It would totally have sufficed if Tim just walked towards the camera, then disappeared and we'd hear him continue walking. (I don't think they ever intended that to be the last point, but it very well could have been one.)
did you think the plank was real or something? you know they're not actual pirates either?
Clearly, what you saw at the end of the clip was not the end of the plank but merely a section of the plank which is beyond your ability to perceive.
Harl Windwolf
Who, the Fuck, is Tim?
Ikr
I think the Carol Burnett show was infinitely funnier
that sketch felt as long as the plank
The pirate captain played Mario in the Super Mario Bros. movie
Its SHMIEE
I'm sure this was hilarious at the writers' meeting.
Maybe 15.000 bc those cart ruts go from turkey to Germany to siberia
Who hosted Hoskins or kinnear?
This sketch i think would have hit better if the first guy didnt comment on the plank and the joke was revealed by the amount of footsteps.
Didn't I just see the end of the plank
5:17 not such a long plank after all
so where is the captain Flint?
That sketch should be made to walk the plank
🤚.
Where do you get a plank that long anyway, do you just saw down the trunk of a redwood?
Was that first shot from a star trek tng movie?
