Exceptionally well placed levels & overall mix too, really accentuates how good these guys are.
Maybe the happiest musicians I've ever seen..but then again..who wouldn't be happy with those skills?
That is a multi scale bass with fanned frets, the heavier (thicker) the string gauge the longer the scale (string length), this creates higher tension on the heavier gauges, which in turn gives a tighter sound, On the lighter gauges you get shorter scale but fuller sound. The frets are then fanned to match the scale length of each string to attain the correct pitch.

Fanned frets. Popular in guitars also especially in extended range guitars. So the lower strings get more tension while higher strings remain normal feeling.
