This is a cover but the lyrics fit their style which is why they chose to cover it.
If you want a concept album from them, check out Phantom Shadow. And in the vocals. Hard sometimes to tell what the vocals are doing. Sometimes the high is some effects, others it’s one of their guitarist, and sometimes it’s a guest female vocalist. I think this time it’s effects and their guitarist.
Its a combo of Rob’s girlfriend and some effects on this one 🤘
Oh yes, Phantom Shadow. Still one of my all-time favorites. The music is great and the story makes it even better.
i'm crazy late to this video, and was super confused by the title and the beginning of the song because i'm actually a big fan of the original artist Essenger, so i was like "wtf? was his a cover of someone else?!" glad to see someone down here clearing things up lol

Love that song. It is about the bands (and mine) hometown. For example "black island" refers to "Svartöstan (black island town)" which is a part of the city. Then there is "serpent hollow" which refers to "Ormberget (serpent mountain)" which is, surprise, a mountain. And many more.

I've to say this is one of my favorite bands, since I've heard their song and still my favorite "player one" I never stop following Machine Supremacy

So this song is actually a cover of a song by Essenger. The original came out last year :)
They have a couple of covers of everything from Britney Spears to Zelda and have made indie game soundtracks, collaborated with UA-cam-rapper Dan Bull on a song about Wolfenstein and released several full length albums with concept-album style stories. A bit Cyberpunk/Sci-Fi stories, from Phantom Shadow and Into The Night World that share a similar story-feeling to this track.
Then there are gaming based lyrics like "Crouching Camper, Hidden Sniper", anime based songs like "Shinigami", a Doctor Who-inspired song called "All of My Angels" as well as a song about having a relationship over video calls, "One Day in the Universe".
I like listening to their older stuff too, but don't know as much about it. My first song by them that I heard was "Through the Looking Glass" back when I used to listen to radio in 8th grade :D Now I'm closing in on 30.....

Redeemer & A View From The End Of The World are really good albums to listen to however the first song I heard was The Great Giana Sisters Commodore Amiga cover which is spot on.
Machinae is just pronounced "Machine". Ive heard the singer say it all the time lol.
well in latin ae is pronounced Ai so ive always thougt of them as "makinai supremacy" xD since "deus ex machina" is pronounced as "Makina"

As for a recommendation, I have no idea if it's your style, but "SycAmour - Calm Down Juliet" is a great song in my opinion
