- I fixed instrument cluster for a friend on his Mercedes S-Class and have made notes on how to open and install a Type B transformer. I have included other side notes, which might help you with repair. Please note, not all instrument cluster issues are fixed by replacing the transformer. Make sure to analyse the issue thoroughly before ordering parts.

For all people in germany that want to try this, it's made by " VOGT ". you need to search for VOGT Transformer / Transformator and you'll get the piece. Price Ranges from 10 - 100 €. Depends where you buy and if it's original or china replacement. GL!

hello, i purchased a used cl500 w215 the check engine light doesn't come on at all, i notice that that light will only come on from a signal of the ecu, i belive someone cut that wire to hide the codes the fact that the check engine light was on for codes. how do i find that ground or is there a fuse that can be disconnected. can you please point me in the right direction thx, enjoy the video.
Hi, the needle on my 2000 S500 has started showing the wrong speed, The Crusie control shows the correct speed when you try to set it, so is this likely to be the Needle or the transformer?
How do you remove the dial gauge?
What are those 3 smd components what are between transformer secondary and lamp ? On it written 1A. Look like capacitors. What would be the value, because with multimeter does not show nothing

Can you swap housing between the w215 and w220 with the internals?i have an s class cluster than I want to use in my cl and the s class shape is a little different.
My middle screen is the one with the problem. How do I fix it. Some of the pixels are screwed up.?????

How do you repair the center screen? It only works when warmed up.

looking at an s class with this fault. migh be able to get the price down a bit if i can fix this issue.
looked so easy then got very hard. .. worth a go though.

,Hello You can get a new one from eBay but then you got to do millage correction. Or you can get old one fixed.
