It seems the best way to get good fuel economy is simply to keep your rpms as low as possible and on the highway go exactly the speed limit. I managed 43 mpg in my Kia Soul over a full tank.
Well, yes, but the whole premise of this was to still maintain the speed limit. When the speed limit is 75 and 80 mph, there's not much I can do to keep RPMs down lol

Just to let you know for us Brits a Yankee (USA) gallon is 3.75 litres and a Queens English one is 4.54 litres.

If I floor it I get 4MPG. It's almost 5 USD a gallon here.

I bet if you were to drop your top speed by 5mph you spend a tiny bit more time on the road with 42mpg average
