It really is though. There are very few human beings on this planet that get to experience that kind of raw power and acceleration. From the stands it's mind blowing enough. For real these things warp your sense of reality a bit. There's so much power you can feel it in the ground and in your bones even.
Thanks John for the ride ALONG! Back in the 90s sometime I was watching you in the pits in Chicago. Just hang out.. I had your Force hat on. You walked by grab the and sign it and handed it back. THANKS JOHN
Save up a few bucks and go to the Frank Hawley School. You can learn to drive an alcohol Funny Car, or dragster. Not quite the same, but a hell of a ride! OR, get yourself $10,000 and call Larry Dixon. He'll take you for a pass in his two-seat Top Fuel car. A friend of mine did it a couple of years ago, and is still talking about it! And he's a championship winning drag racer in his own right! Clay Millican was there hanging out with the crew!
@ge2623 I'm sure the slaves in Africa used to harvest the highly toxic and deadly materials that are used to make the batteries and permanent magnet motors, are really excited about the Green New Deal.
@@cll1639 Yep, once they started the little wimpy burn outs I've never been back because that was one of the coolest parts of the show and the pit warm up when they would whack the throttle to seat the clutch. I realize they quit doing all of this to remain more competitive. I never really cared who won the event because I was a fan of all of them tho mainly J.F.
@@bad2mx Lord, do I ever miss the pitside throttle whacks .....Scott Palmer is the only touring nitro driver that still does them to the delight of the fans, and occasionally Force will do a little one. But no long burnouts and thanks to the tire compounds Goodyear now uses, not much smoke, either. :( Here's Palmer with the cleanest warmup and throttle whack video on the internet: ua-cam.com/video/_V_9E7pCdf0/v-deo.html

Ashley's sons have been on her too. I know she used to make annual runs to keep her license up to date in case something happened to John, but with Robert, who was made President of JFR some time ago, as well as Brittney and of course Austin Prock, I think the future of JFR is in good hands. Robert's daughter Autumn has been moving up, from juniors to Super Comp, so... Evidently John said something at the Hall of Fame induction ceremonies in Gainesville about Courtney unretiring, but she just gave birth to her and Graham's second kid. It would be cool to see both Ashley and Courtney back though!
I remember when they started breaking 300mph here at Gatornationals, I remember the guy on TV20 (local news here in Gainesville) was making a big deal out of it back in the 90s. It's nuts they're up to these speeds now (335+).
BALLS OF STEEL !! I’d Rather Drive Top Fuel Dragster. Having that BOMB Behind me. 😬 The Idea of a Blower Explosion 💥 Being Engulfed in Burning Fuel & OiL 🚨💀😢
Has to be one of the craziest experiences on earth to have to drive this monster with all that power
Ha, not only imagine that. Imagine that doing it at 73 years old.

It was epic seeing himself & Brittany race in person. Have an epic day on the track today!
Nice!!!
Ha John beat Cruz man what a driver and what a experience to see a pov from one of the greatest funny car driver on this planet
Why did John used to do 1/2 track burn outs back in the day? Was it for show? Tire heat? Or both? Fans want to know. 😊

@@bad2mx Exactly!
