Wrapigami = beeswax wrap origami! Easy tutorial on how to fold a beeswax wrap into a sandwich pocket. UPDATE: The Etsy Mixed Mod Shop closed March 2019.
Thanks so much for this tutorial. I had seen diys on how to make your own wraps, and several mention that a wrap can be used "in place of plastic film or sandwich bags" but no one shows you how to make a neat sanwich pocket. Thanks!
Wow, so satisfying actually. Like how when the sandwich is placed in the pocket, that the last folds stay together because of it being bee's wax paper...😃
Thanks! I recommend at least rinsing the beeswax wrap with cold water and hanging it to dry after use. If it has some harder to remove food on it, you can use some mild soapy water and a soft sponge. Do not use warm water or a scrubber, as this can ruin the wax coating.
You can store most anything, except for raw fish and meats. Also, beeswax wraps are not completely water proof, which means if you use a beeswax wrap to around anything juicy or watery you run the risk of the fluid eventually seeping through the wrap. Best thing to do would be to put the fish in a bowl and cover the bowl with a beeswax wrap. Foods should be at room temperature or below before wrapping.
Puede usar la envoltura como un cuadrado, no como un bolsillo para ese tipo de sándwich. Coloque el sándwich en el medio del cuadrado y doble los lados hacia arriba.
I offer organic beeswax wrap kits on my website at MixedModShop.Etsy.com that include beeswax medium cubes perfect for making your own wraps. If you are looking to purchase only beeswax, there are many online sites that carry it in blocks or pastilles. If using for beeswax wraps, make sure it is food grade and preferably organic.
Uta only compost them if you absolutely HAVE to. Your wrap will become a bit “crafty” as the wax cracks, but if you put it between two pieces of parchment paper and give it an iron with a very hot iron it will resell the cracks and off you go again! If you have some beeswax, pine resin and jojoba oil you can “rewax” them by sprinkling some over the fabric and ironing between two pieces of parchment paper. I’ve used mine for years, only recycle them when the fabric starts getting tacky.
Thanks for your comment. The napkin used in the video is made out of 100% recycled paper (source Susty Party*.) nice idea... but if you didn't use such unhealthy bread you might be able to work with it better.... that kind of bread has harmful chemicals in it to make is soft and spongy... yo
Thank you for your concern about the ingredients in the bread used in this video. I can assure you that the bread does NOT contain azodicarbonamide, which may be the chemical you are referring to, nor does it contain any other artificial ingredients or preservatives. I can also assure you that the beeswax wraps will work the same with all breads regardless of their ingredients.
Who are you to judge what kind of bread she either makes or buys. Besides that, the whole point of the video is to show you how to make this particular kind of beeswax wrap. She could have put a book inside it and we would still have got the idea of its purpose. Negative Nancy!

Thanks for watching!
I remember people wrapping sandwiches like this when I was a kid. Thanks bunches 🙂
These wraps look so awesome! Gonna try them out, hopefully they are as good a replacement to plastic as they seem.
I have been looking & looking for this wrap style for a burger & finally gave up. Just happened to stumble across it tonight. Thank you.
You are welcome!. Thanks for watching!
That's cool, I've been reading/ watching several articles about beeswax wrap.💛🐝

Thank you for the great video beautifully wrapped, do you have to wash these every time you use for a sandwich?
Thanks!

Excellent
Great! Most importantly you missed out on the size of the wrap.
Glenn D'Cruz shows on packaging at the beginning of the video that the wrap is 13” x 13”
What can you store in beeswax? Can I store fish with beeswax?

So smart.

Thanks @missbluebutterfly28 for responding earlier! The wrap used in the video is 13" x 13".
Me encantó...! Deseo saber que tipo de papel se usa.. saludos desde México.🍃
Y como se hace cuando en el sándwich lleve huevo cocido o algún producto que no se quede quieto y se caiga todo por no tener apretado los sandwiches

Is it reusable?
Yes! The beeswax wraps are reusable up to a year (sometimes longer). Wash with mild soap and cold water, hang to dry. They are compostable.

Y'all, it's just regular wax paper. Nevertheless, thanks for this video because I really needed this tutorial.
Alan Morris uh, no it’s fabric soaked in beeswax, pine resin and jojoba oil. It will last years longer than wax paper!
What are the dimensions?
about a 13 inch (33 cm) square
Cuales son las medidas del papel?
33 cm x 33 cm - 13 inches x 13 inches
Medidas de la hoja de papel
13 in x 13 in o 33 cm x 33 cm
A paper napkin?!
