I'll be honest, I saw the Santa legs sticking out from the chimney on your roof lighting video, but I thought it was a real chimney! When I clicked the video tonight, I thought it would be a tutorial on how to add the legs but I didn't expect the chimney too! Great job! It looks very realistic!

Really a very cool and well thought out project, that affords you the ability to upgrade it in the future, so it has animated legs kicking back and forth. I'd go with a 12vdc wiper motor since they're already pretty waterproof, and 100% duty cycle and won't get hot and start a fire. Wiper motors are pretty good quality and HAVE TO WORK, because it's a safety issue. The downside is you need a 12vdc power supply, but you could keep that under cover at ground level and just run a cheap SPT-1 lamp cord with a plug in up to the motor. Keep up the great work.

I must say, it’s probably my favorite so far of the season. There’s just something about Christmas decorations displayed on a rooftop that completely grabs the attention.
Your Santa stuck in a chimney reminds me of the joy and wide-eyed wonder of a child this time of year. Only thing I would do is add some white around the ankle of the pants because Santa’s pants have the white trim.

Hi. I just came across one of your videos that someone had reposted in one of my Facebook groups and now I'm hooked (and subscribed)!! My question ❓ is I live in a double wide mobile home in a very windy and rainy area for winter in Texas. I live by myself and not to keen about letting someone attach something to the top of my roof when I can't see what they are doing. Unfortunately when you are paying someone they don't always take pride in a job well done. That being said, is there a safer way (for my roof) to attach the chimney? I have so many children in my community that would absolutely adore this! I hope you can help. I was also concerned with the platform moving back and forth in the wind and messing with the shingles. Thank you so much for your help and your wonderful ideas!

I have 3 sheds that I built for holiday storage. I also have a walk in crawlspace, 2 attics and under the deck storage that I use for all my holiday storage needs.

Sorry its at 17:21! Where you show the wooden base ziptied to some type of strip attached under the roof cap shingles. I do not have this on my roof and was wondering if its something I can add?
@@jenniferwinek4623 oh OK I understand now. No if you don’t have it then your home wasn’t built with that. Some roofs have it and others don’t so it’s nothing that you can add. So unfortunately it may not be possible for you to do it if you don’t have this
