Maybe I screamed out as a reverse physiological method to frighten my adversary (in this case a creepy closet lady..)?? LOL :-)
What I like the most about these shorts is that the character is not frustratingly stupid. She reacts in a believable way, and at the same time is clever enough to come up with creative solutions. Too bad it never works lol

This might be your best yet. The acting when faking the phone call was FANTASTIC, how your tone betrayed doubting your own story. And this kind of home invasion is definitely something that has crossed everyone's' mind at least once.

i love how RAIMI-Escue this is. The camera angles, the black humor and a demon tormenting the character. This channel arguably has some of the best horror short films on the web.
"don't get grabbed from under the bed, that's a rookie mistake" this was meta, and i love it, jump-scares are good when you know they are coming but still feel scared, like we could see the black thing from the other side of the bed(probably that demon lady's legs or something)
i thought it was a cat, and it was all in her head after all, I think thats what made the jumpscare so effective D&D thats how you subvert expectations
When she finishes the "call" she says: "this is so stupid" and before she had said that she had the same routine every night. She is obsessed with insecurity. Her greatest demon is the fear. She has a mania of persecution. She says she feels trapped inside, and that she is not alone, she is always with her fears. It is very sad to live like that. People who live alone, experience these feelings.

I remember when LIghts Out was released as a short I nearly died when I heard they were doing a movie for it. Which I was quite satisfied with. This guy knows his shit. Looking under the bed with the phone is perfect.

Ok. I love this. It's brilliant. Lotta really did a great job with the acting and the camera's ability to focus or unfocus was used creatively. Really built the tension quickly and I love finally seeing the aftermath of these films.

I'm watching this in my dark room with only a dim light coming from my tv and computer and with headphones. This is terrifying me rn. Hearing the shakiness in her voice as she fakes talking to her husband really sells it. Even the jump cut to her opening the knife drawer scared me
This was SO GOOD! The rhythm of the editing, cinematography (two fave shots were Lotta in the hallway with the halo around her head, and her sitting on the stairs with the knife) everything was just so well put together, scared the shit outta me proper like.
This is just great. The tension beautifully grows until the end. We are all so pleased that you keep making these - showing how passionate you are about what you do and why you do it. THANK YOU!
This is a great example for writers and directors to take note on how to launch a question/mystery: clash the expected with the unexpected in a way that the viewer can experience: the expected: she has locked the front door with the key in it, no one can get in. The unexpected: someone has opened the lock and gotten in (it also helps if the above clash happens as quickly as possible so you get that snap of.. "wait, what???" note also there are inherent stakes attached...her life could be in real danger. this clash of the expected vs. the unexpected can be used in any genre and for the purpose of getting the viewer to experience the context as a mystery, to have the viewer solve the question, or at least try to. David...you're a blessing to keep doing these videos on your channel. My one issue with this is that the payoff doesn't answer the question I was tracking on...."How'd they get into the house?" ...yeah you could put it down to some supernatural power, but without experiencing that it just doesn't feel satisfying, unexpected....it's just .."there's a creepy monster that got in....somehow"

I was not a huge horror fan until I stumbled on this channel plus a legendary quote, "Do not get grabbed form underneath the bed, that's a rooky mistake."
Instead of the antagonist being a blind human with sharp teeth, that horrifying reveal in the bedroom, would've been truly horrifying if it was a demonic scary otherworldly "creature".
I love it more and more, everytime I watch this. Lottas acting performance is so awesome. The phone scene...or where she "freezes" on her phone and just acted this incredible gaze .^^ . And the way this is filmed is so good. I love where she walks around the house and looks for the Intruder. It's so charming. This whole short is just awesome. And scary of course :D

Terrifying! I think it still continues the Lights Out Lady in apartment saga... Lotta was even more brilliant with many speaking lines! Great actress. How much more if she's to star in a full length film. i'm happy that you are returning to your roots again of short horror films. Thank you David Sandberg for another short horror masterpiece. This is another superb work that I think it topped the rest of your shorts. Looking forward for another sequel short of your apartment saga with Lotta.
Loved it. I enjoyed the interjections of comedy here and there. And Lotta is so pretty.

I was not a huge horror fan until I stumbled on this channel plus a legendary quote, "Do not get grabbed form underneath the bed, that's a rooky mistake."
Instead of the antagonist being a blind human with sharp teeth, that horrifying reveal in the bedroom, would've been truly horrifying if it was a demonic scary otherworldly "creature".

Quite probably my favorite of all your work to date. Loved the narration, Lotta's character, and the suspense was built really really well.
I love the satirical nature mixed with horror elements. That's just brilliant.
I love it more and more, everytime I watch this. Lottas acting performance is so awesome. The phone scene...or where she "freezes" on her phone and just acted this incredible gaze .^^ . And the way this is filmed is so good. I love where she walks around the house and looks for the Intruder. It's so charming. This whole short is just awesome. And scary of course :D
