While that’s a common thing about drumming I’ve heard for years I’ve come to believe it’s false (based on myself personally) I’ve noticed when I played on a smaller kit my tempo was better and the basics were more solid, but when I transferred to my current big kit with 7 toms my fills and creativity got better and I find it much more fun that way!
@@tonytwelves1259 My take is that you spend more time on the same tom, if you've only ogt one. You'll either have to split the practice, or double the time to get the same amount of przctice on two. but then again, I'm no drummer
I play metal drums in a metal band, but when I head a dude playing the sweetest beats like you, I feel like I've have no idea how to play drums. You should make a few videos showing your bass drum technique and a few chops.

WOW! Awesome hi hat control, incredible kick work, FANTASTIC snare sound. Phenomenal skills. This guy does better with 3 pieces than most can do with a full kit. Very talented drummer.
Ko Ck no it is the drummer that sounds good. Yes the drums sound good but, that is because of the way the drummer plays. Like a good chef, it’s not the pot or the knife that makes the food taste good. It’s the chef.

Love that snare sound and snap!!! Kick drum work is on point, make a vid on the footwork 👌. Great hand technique on the snare and hi hats too..all around sounds damn good! I'd love to hear what you'd do on a full kit. And maybe give some tips and tricks here and there, you're that good! Keep it up!
Lush. Nice floating feeling. Classy but laid back. Just started drumming. Wanted to see what I can do with a minimal kit. Thanks for inspiring me this Tuesday night.
this is legit the kind of practice i need to be putting into my percussion work. just seeing what i can do with a simple drum layout. and let those patterns apply to a drum set
That deep dish is delish and the hi-hat, the bass, they are well built and well tuned. Oh, the kid’s good too, really good. Pray up and may God bless us all.
It's cool that I see similar forms of the 3-peace groove across UA-cam, expressed by drummers who really just enjoy playing! And to know you can lock it in..., well that means you can set any party off right.
I love so many parts in this little jam because i feel like we play similarly. 1:20, 2:08, 3:33.. badass man. Love the kit too. No better vibe than playing in the backyard either. I bet your neighbors love it. You're a ripper dude
Baller double stroking that bass bro. And the pop that snare has amazing. But most of all the grooves are fresh. Haven't heard anything like this to this day as far as freestyle. Keep going.
almost 10 years later still the crispiest snare on YT..

Definitely not a piccolo. It looks like it’s 8” depth.

It’s also about how expensive ur 3 drums are…
That's the best sounding snare I've heard in a very long time.
...only the snare of Steward Copeland sounds better :-)

Snares sound best outside i reckon
the natural habit of the vistalite
no walls and reflections to ruin it.

i have seen jazz drummers make a small kit sing and they never play the same groove or fill more than twice. rudiments, accents out the wahzoo.
