- Martin Daubney tells Mike Graham the BBC's "vanity" was clear following the broadcaster's annual publishing of talent salaries. It was announced that presenter Zoe Ball was now the highest earning member of staff, after Match of the Day host Gary Lineker took a 23 percent pay cut.
"They thought it was going to be a story about the gender pay gap.
"She's lost a million listeners and gained a million quid.
"Lineker has taken a pay cut and ordered to control his Twitter feed."

I have just cancelled my license....not interested in watching the BBC
My ex told me that one of her friends went to prison because she never paid the BBC for over 10 years . She was sentenced to 3 months , but to serve 1 month but had no relatives , so her teenage daughter was taken into care and ran off and has been on a missing persons list for over 6 years now . I couldn't believe it when my ex told me this and then she introduced me to her , the council got her a flat in the estate my ex lives in , when she told me her version of events i was almost crying . To do that to a young mother that hasn't got a penny to rub together is cruel . I thought the judge would've given her a community sentence of some sort but not prison .

I stopped watching MOTD because of Lineker, i don't think i'm the only one.
I stopped when it became historical ie all they did was talk about games that were well over.
People watch match of the day for the football, not the presenters, they could have a chimp present it for free, and people will still watch it,

I'm not surprised people are looking for alternative platforms. I've been tuning into sky news every morning for years but watching adam boulton call me a racist for not supporting BLM and for being against immigration really was just the last straw. I'm sick of it. I'd rather watch repeats of old shows in the morning than that crap.

They are both so biased against any one who does not agree with their idea of the way white people should behave and think.

I gave up watching Football and TV, and i listen to Greek radio, it has thr best English and American Music, i heard over 100 great tracks in a row ive never heard on our stations ! Vanilla Radio and the Greek conglomorate have a few ads and let the music sing for itself.

@Alan Braham most things are biased. I am biased towards my children over others children. You will be biased about things in your life also. Again though, if this channel is not your taste and causes you stress, then stop watching it my friend because you just come accross as full of hate and Noone wants to live that way, hate is like an infection. Lastly, when Brexit was everyones focus and the vote was looming, this channel only spoke about that. When Schools have been the focus during lockdown, this channel has discussed that, same with immigration, TV licensing, gender pay gap, trans issues, etc. Seriously, if you don't believe me then look in the playlists. So I think it is unfair to spend so much time commenting such hate about 1 topic, on a channel you clearly dislike just because you want a fight with someone.

Commercial is the only answer there are state funded TV stations all over the world, that don't represent the mood of their countries majority's.
As in this another post things you see on the internet about the BBC licensing.
The BBC itself makes 1.4 billion from its commercial interests, that is more than enough to run a TV service, the remaining state funded services around the world should end.
Commercial services live and die by the public, and if they get no viewers get no funding other than by rich people with deep pockets.
The BBC and all broadcast television is wasteful by delivery, if there is no TV Licence people can, use satellite broadcast to receive it.
If you're just using it as background like radio is the technology to keep going as a lot cheaper than a year TV Licence, when you removed terrestrial TV masts.
In years to come even older people will stop waiting for programmes and most everyone it will just watch things on demand.
The age of TV is over, the BBC is not necessary but if it can make its way commercially it, can continue, the BBC will have to embrace on demand services, they have been given a great start support from the licence and government they've received over the years.
Most everyone who has a TV and still watches TV never use terrestrial broadcasting system, if it stopped a lot of people wouldn't notice that was gone.

I am reluctant to disagree with Mr. Daubney, but treated correctly and with nuance, the Masonic trope can be a comic mainstay.
Personally, I find the Fedora to be the 'go-to' humourous hat, both visually and from the point of view of the innately humourous nature of the word 'Fedora'.
