THE WAY I WAS PUNCHING THE FUCKING AIR THE WHOLE SEASON AND THEN THEY SAID NO MORE JULIE ANDREWS?? NO MORE QUEEN OF GENOVIA???? NO MORE SOUND OF MUSIC??????
@@kf7094 I don't think Julie Andrews would be back. Lady Whistledown would still be a part of the show but I believe Nicola Coughlan's voice would be used for now own due to Penelope revealing her identity to the ton. Julie Andrews was used because no one knew Pen's identity except for a few people.
No, because the way they missed out on the first step of creating a romance storyline which is to have a meet-cute? SHOW US THE COLIN AND PEN MEET CUTE YOU KEEP HAVING THEM TALK ABOUT!!! Better yet, the season should’ve started with Colin reminiscing about the first time they met. Start the season with the flashback, then cut to Colin in his hotel room somewhere in Europe. That is SHOWING us that Penelope has been on his mind the entire time he was on his Eurotrip and that’s why he decided to come back earlier than planned instead of just having him tell us that Penelope was on his mind during his Eurotrip at the END of the season. SHOW us Colin dissecting his whole thought process surrounding the Lady Whistledown issue. In the last episode we see Violet receiving the letter from Penelope revealing that she is Lady Whistledown, Colin comes down the stairs and sees the letter in her hand. SHOW US that conversation between Violet and Colin where he explains to her that she is Lady Whistledown, have Violet ask him where his headspace is currently with the whole Lady Whistledown thing, then have Colin reveal to Violet that he’s hurt by Penelope hiding this secret side of herself from him, proud of her achieving success, but also envious of that success that she’s achieved, and feels guilty about being envious of his own wife. Have him say that he does not feel like he deserves her knowing how he feels. Then have Violet validating his feelings, but also say something to the extent of it does not matter what he is feeling but it matters what he does with what he is feeling. Does he feel like he can move past all that he is feeling? I know he’s an internal character, I know he needs his time and space to sort of his feelings and figure out what exactly he’s feeling, but I needed them to show us some of his headspace before his final love confession to Penelope. And who in the world decided that Benedict’s bi arc should start at the end of the season? If they were saving it for part two, at least start it in episode 5. Argh, I could go on and on because season 3 had such interesting ideas and had such an interesting dynamic between Colin and Penelope, there was just so much untapped potential but ultimately, even if I love these two as a couple, they truly deserved better writers and editors.
THIS!!!! THIS!!!! soooo many things they could show us but opted to 'tell' instead. it's like they never heard of 'show, don't tell' 😭 agree with you completely. i feel like they need more episodes so they don't rush it because of the limited time of 8 episodes. no to mention too many sub plots that tbh can be postponed.
‘ditch some subplots and let polin seriously hash things out’ AGREE! eletric chair for sholanda not showing polin's (well, pen's) letter? AGREE. god how i wish they make that scene longer, show us not just 1 letter, show us what he was feeling reading that, not tell us through colin saying it to pen. 😭 and pen and portia's scene? also one of my fave scene! they did a good job in featheringtons plot. still love the season, i just wish they could focus more on colin and pen (both as themselves and as a couple). great edit as always, thank you ❤
Girl. This edit was 🔥 FIRE. Too many moments to even begin to mention, but I will say your edit of "Electric Chair" was on point!!! Too many missed storyline opportunities in part 2!!!!😅
Hilariously chaotic! That was awesome ❤ i agree about Benedict and the Mondrich scene they did not add to the plot moving forward.. and While Penelope, Portia and the Featherington family's story reached full circle beautifully, I felt Colin's didn't and the way it was resolved between Colin and Penelope left a huge gap of something i cannot even name. There could have been more Polin scenes ❤❤❤.
No bc I was waiting for your part 2 video!! 😁 You could really tell the difference in showrunners compared to the first two seasons; it didn’t flow seamlessly.
The most accurates "Electric Chair" moments ever. The Portia-Pen relationship was the best plot of this season. What they did with John Stirling at the end was criminal. Kanthony always on point. We need it always on screen. The polin romance was meh. I was more interested in the Eloise and Pen relationship. Bendict storyline: zzzzzzzzz
In the book the same thing happens with John but instead of Michaela it's Michael and in their book they are in love but then something happened to John then Michael and Francesca become infatuated with each other after a long time kind of like violet and Edmond
That's not what happened in the book. (People are so tired of this comment, but that's the Gospel Truth!) Fran loves John. It was Michael who fell in love with her 1st, hours before her wedding to John. Fran never clocked into that. After John's gone, it took Fran years to realised & returned Michael's love which is only after he kissed her & made her look at him as a potential suitor as she was looking for a match just to have a baby of her own rather than finding love when she already had that with John. There's no denying the show severely undermined Fran & John's relationship. TBH, they made a big mistake introducing Fran & John with Mikela/Michael & Mondrich's rich storyline (debatable) in this season where Penelope & Colin's love story is taking shape along with the Featherington & Whistledown with Cressida, Eloise, Violet & his brother wants to be Violet's gardener plot thrown into the picture. Season 3 would have worked with limited side stories, which were already a huge & impactful plot that deserves more development & God forbid, more screentimes for Polin compared to other previous couples. Benedict's love story in the book is so bad & hated by many (except for Sophie who is beloved character of many fans) that every showrunners/writers are avoiding it like a plague. They could easily have Fran & John storyline with Mikela crushing over Fran & Eloise clocking in to it in Benedict szn, that would have been perfect & would probably lessen the outrage when they decided to genderbend Michael & maybe even Sophie😅 But no! They wanna do everything in season 3. Big Mistake. In words of Lady Whistledown herself, 'It is said that the fools rush to judge, while the wise watch and wait.' 😅 I say it's fools who rush to strike on a limited space & time. While the wise takes time, thinking, reflecting & constructing while fashioning a great piece of work...😂
I’m back. I saw this TikTok of Kenji and Nazeera audio extract from the Shatter Me series where Kenji and Nazeera were basically having the same fight as Colin and Penelope, i.e. professional jealousy. It hit me then what I was missing from episode 8 was Penelope’s spunk. I don’t mind Colin being mad that he envies Penelope, just like I don’t mind Kenji being mad (therefore jealous) that Nazeera has the same abilities as Kenji. I was just missing Penelope’s spunk that she had in S2E8. I needed Penelope to be the one to figure out that Colin envies Penelope, I needed her to confront Colin the same way Nazeera confronts Kenji, I wanted Penelope to be like, “why can’t you look me in the eye?” and Colin to be like “too pretty” - quoting the Shatter Me series, that’s not what I actually want Penelope and Colin to say to each other, but it captures the energy I wanted from them. Basically, what I mean is that I want to see the “sorting their problems out but they still love each other and they’re a team” type of energy, and we didn’t get enough of that in the final episode. They kinda gave me that energy in the wedding episode though, I won’t lie, but I needed that energy to carry out into the final episode for the landing to really stick.
THE WAY I WAS PUNCHING THE FUCKING AIR THE WHOLE SEASON AND THEN THEY SAID NO MORE JULIE ANDREWS?? NO MORE QUEEN OF GENOVIA???? NO MORE SOUND OF MUSIC??????
Criminal offensive side eye!
They have said they are bringing her back for S4 😅 though if that turns out to be bullshit I will be so pissed off 😭

I honestly and truly screamed.
I adore Portia Featherington, she's a woman of all seasons😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣, she has a solution to every problem😂😂

Omg this! You’re so SPOT ON!! A big lack of show don’t tell and too much offscreen development 😪
