Carley needs a podcast where she just goes on rants because I could listen to this all day.
I’ve been a commuter student for the past three years now so (not thanks to covid) I’ve learned how to read on the train, bus, subway, either forward facing or backwards facing. Doesn’t even matter anymore. My guts are made of steel. But don’t even try to get me to read in the car when my dad is driving. I can’t even sit in the back without getting motion sick, let alone sit backwards and enjoy a novel.

@@uncarley girlboss you just have to commit to it. Try and read just a page at a time. And then give yourself enough time to look outside and get oriented with the movement again. At some point you can read two pages at a time, three and then a whole chapter. Then you’ll become unstoppable.

I have mixed feelings about that page, one on hand they show some fine ass men reading, 2 turn ons. But on the other hand, it’s obviously an invasion of privacy, incredibly creepy and even objectifying/sexualizing men. I mean I’d feel so weird if I were a guy and found myself on there.
I think it's very creepy too. If it were a guy posting girls he would've gotten reported by everyone immediately. The descriptions are nasty and desperate, I don't understand why would anyone find them funny.

I will say, I have followed this 'hot guys reading' thing in the past. My sincerest hope is that people get consent to submit photos (ideally before, but if not, after taking them) to such an account. Which is how I am guessing those close-up ones are taken? But yeah, it basically highlights how we all still objectify each other regardless of gender. Also, assuming this is like a large kink for some, thus why they are all hot and bothered by it? I mostly have just found it wildly amusing the crazy @$$ things people have posted. But yeah, it's definitely creeper vibes if not consensually posting images of people, especially with commentary.

I guess it just depends on what people think reading could say about a person. Does it mean that person is smart? Or socially-aware? Or creative? Then those are things that could make you attracted to them, and that's pretty normal. (Of course those initial judgments could be wrong, but that's how a lot of initial attraction works anyway).
But then some people take it too far. Like the person who made that IG account, or people who pretend to read to attract others. Like in Sex Education where Jackson pretends to read feminist literature to get with Maeve and it works for him :/ Super weird.
