For anyone who doesn’t know. Socotra is an island belonging to Yemen however due to the civil war in mainland Yemen , the UAE occupied the island due to its strategic location and that’s why the islanders can’t talk frankly.

My take is that people will have opinions on everything. The less we know, the more opinions. Once we get to know and understand, things get complicated and we find it harder to make definite statements. What do we truly know about the world?
I agree with that statement. I always was confused on why the most ignorant are the most confident in there opinions lol. It is complicated you're right. I’ve gone to quite a few countries and they’ve all been very welcoming, except one. France. I didn’t meet one person who was kind; every single one was abrupt with me, seemed to dislike me, had an air of haughtiness. They all appeared to be miserable, which came across as fake, like they tell themselves smiling is for stupid people or something. It’s a real shame because they are an amazing people, with such a rich culture and a beautiful country, but I just can’t help disliking them because they seem to dislike me for no reason. Despite this, I’m learning French so I can take my children around France to see it’s beauty, hopefully we will meet some happy French people.
Even without considering France, French is very useful to learn since it opens you to Québec, Haïti, Belgium, Switzerland, Lebanon and French-speaking Africa. Also never forget as it has been said that Parisian people are ruder than the rest of France which is all good. I'm from Québec and I see a clear difference between French immigrants who come from Paris and those who don't come from Paris. Those from Paris always tend to say we speak badly in Québec, when we really just have a linguistic diffenrences, that's it! It's not about one being better. But no they have to tell you they are the ones who speak and act properly.

I am somali with yemen decendants. I can never hate my Yemenis may allah unite our hearts. Somalia is not poor though i was there last December its very rich alhamdulillah and a developing economy, drought has recently destoryed us but may Allah swt help us. I was told that my Arab ancestry came from Yemen. I believe in the Hadramaut region. Unfortunately, I don't know much but was informed that most of my Yemeni relatives have moved to live in Saudi.

I visited Somalia recently and I was chocked with the numbers of Yemenis in the country. They were allowed to fish 🐟 freely, own fast food restaurants. Technically they cross the water for free and land our land. It very important to treat them Ethiopians and sent them cultivation fields for free. Socotra itself isn't a Yemeni territory and Somali economy is 20 times larger than Yemen

I’ve gone to quite a few countries and they’ve all been very welcoming, except one. France. I didn’t meet one person who was kind; every single one was abrupt with me, seemed to dislike me, had an air of haughtiness. They all appeared to be miserable, which came across as fake, like they tell themselves smiling is for stupid people or something. It’s a real shame because they are an amazing people, with such a rich culture and a beautiful country, but I just can’t help disliking them because they seem to dislike me for no reason. Despite this, I’m learning French so I can take my children around France to see it’s beauty, hopefully we will meet some happy French people.
