Was there in person, my mom and I went to celebrate my 22nd birthday a few weeks early. Last race we were able to go to before she lost her battle with cancer. So glad we got to see the 3 win one more time.

A Nascar crowd will never be as loud as it is when dale gets honored
Any time an Earnhardt was leading the crowds went wild. Saw/heard it several times at different tracks. If you were at a track during qualifying or practice people were loud.
Its cool that wrangler returned to sponsor a car, and to be Dale Jr, is cool.

My mother passed away when I was 6 years old. My father was at the Daytona 500 in 2001, sitting in turn 4. I’ve always been a huge earnheart fan, but after dale won this race I cried my eyes out. My father saw, and said, “boy, you didn’t cry when you’re mom died, but you cried when dale won at Daytona”

NASCAR at Daytona under the lights on the 4th of July weekend was perfect. Wish they would bring the that weekends race back to Daytona.

Arguably a throwback to an earlier era of restrictor plate racing, like the early 90s. Cars were a bit more spaced out, and didn't require as much help to pass your competitors
I remember this race like it was yesterday, hard to believe its closer in time to Dale Earnhardts life than to present day, time really flies.
Subway Jalapeno 250 has got to be the greatest race name ever
12 years later and he’s getting back in the 3 car. Love to see it
I was at this race with my then-fiance. As a big Earnhardt fan, I was so excited that the #3 went to victory lane while I was there, with an Earnhardt behind the wheel no less. Bittersweet memories of both.

I was at this race. I left that track with a hoarse voice from hollering. Was one HELL of a night. Dale Jr can wheel a car around a super speedway with the best of em. Just wish Dale Sr could have seen it.
I cried like a baby when I watch the race on tv then and did it again now! Very emotional race!
Allen Bestwick is one of the greatest calling a NASCAR race. Change my mind.

Maybe it can be said for Stenhouse, but I think if Joey had enough of a run, he would have taken it. I mean, the guy moved Mark Martin, his mentor, at Pocono cause he couldn't be bothered to race him clean. The guy has no morals on the track.

I was there I drove 1200 miles to see this. What a moment it was.
I'm really glad they got Eury Jr's reaction, must've been a truly special moment for that old dog.
I was at my grandfather's motorhome at Cape Cod watching this. I didn't know at the time how important it was, other than Dale drove his father's number. How fitting is it that he does it in one of Sr.'s most iconic schemes, while hearing his father was/would be inducted into the hall of fame. Just incredible. Haven't watched much NASCAR recently, but watching this brought back some of that good old fashioned serotonin that I needed.
I often forget that Dale flipped in the February race that same year and came back in the 3 and won

It must have been an emotional thing for Jr. to run that car. Been a long time since his dad used to run that paint. Would like to see him run the black 3 Intimidator for a season.
This was another great night for NASCAR & if I was Jr this trophy would be in my front trophy case where I could see it daily...

I was pushed into victory lane on the hood @ 1986 World 600. i was in the right place at the right time.
I was watching Earnhardt since i was 19 i would get emotional at the final laps was beautiful when he WON i would start cheering 👍 forever #3 Dale Earnhardt !

Wow I was six when this race happened I’m 16 and I still remember cheering and screaming my butt off for Dale Jr since he’s my 2ed favorite driver behind Jimmie Johnson
Maybe it goes back to loving Jeremy Mayfield’s #12 Mobile paint scheme from Nascar 99, but the #12 looks so good on a car!
Just seven years later would be Jr’s final season as a Cup driver.

I remember watching it live and just remembering that Jr won, and wanted him to win because of the nice touch with the sponsors.

Amazingly, NASCAR’s 720p60fps looks better than Dave W’s 1080p30fps version of this same race. No surprise considering NASCAR brings in higher quality, & Dave’s feed is pretty much an upscale of that 720p format.

The I seriously think Dale Sr was more aggressive in the Wrangler car now don’t get me wrong he was still aggressive in the black car but I think a lot of drivers got out of his way later in his career. I just remember the run ins with Bodine DW Bill Elliott Tim Richmond and numerous others. It was like he was staking his claim during those years.
Wrangler car is when he made his reputation as the intimidator. He became the Dominator in the Goodwrench car. I watched his entire career live or on TV.

It would be so awesome if the teams and drivers got together and held NO RULES races at Daytona and Talladega. Not sanctioned obviously. An exhibition race. ZERO rules. The Pay Per View would be worth a "Kazillion" dollars.. The 30th place finisher would break the current track record.
Taller gears..? Twin turbo-charged Chevy 572 c.u. engine..? 50 gallon fuel cell? ANY aero you want..? All the money in the world..? Go for it.. Do it.
Remove the first 20 rows of seats to take spectators out of the picture.

There needs to be a race at Daytona in the weeks leading up to the 500 called the Earnhardt Sr. 300. I hate the “tribute” during the third lap people just hold a 3 in the air for the whole lap
I think none of the guys in the front 4 wanted any different outcome. None of them even tried to pass on that last lap.
Nascar will never be the same because the ones that made Nascar has left us to that great race track in the sky. Dale and Dale Jr, You are Nascar and will always be Nascar as far as I am concerned
