    Hi Frank,
    I would like to express my gratitude for generously imparting your extensive knowledge of the sport. Your willingness to share insights gained over many years has not only benefited seasoned enthusiasts like myself but has also contributed to the growth and development of others.
    A mutual friend, Neill Migliore, flew under Lion Gate Loft, gave me super pigeons, and won several races. I would like to share with your viewers one thing that I learned from Neil that helped me from LOSING Young Birds on their first few short training tosses. He said to let my YBs out and fly around the loft as long as they want to get the vigor or energy out of them, and after they trap, take a drink and take half of the team on their first training toss. Let them sit in the basket and settle down, then let them out, and they will fly straight home. It's a suggestion that has worked for me.
    Thanks again, Frank
    Your friend,
    Dan Romanski

      Hello Dan, Neil loved you and this is great advice, most should follow. Many ask me "how can I get my birds to fly straight home from training". I give the same advice, loft fly before training. Hope all is well.

    Hi Frank. I was interested on your thoughts on birds that come home infront from tossing ahead of others...
    There have been many champions that had this leading instinct in many lofts here in Australia. That are multiple fed winners.. Just a thought maybe they motivate themselves to get home quicker than there mates... the love of the loft and there master is a fundamental aspect on birds that home like this. Cheers and all the best for your Racing season...

    • @FrankMcLaughlinPigeons
      @FrankMcLaughlinPigeons  6 місяців тому

      These pigeons are rare to come ahead of the flock when the birds are flying some distance. If a bird comes ahead on short tosses usually something is wrong with the pigeons and it cannot stay with the flock. If a have a bird come alone from a short toss, 99% of the time the bird has a problem

    Thanks for the great videos. If celebrate cocks and hens come home at the same time on race day isthat something to worry about or just separate after they trap.

    • @FrankMcLaughlinPigeons
      @FrankMcLaughlinPigeons  Рік тому

      I have them come home together and in most cases they just go in no problem. If they do go in the wrong loft I just separate them. Not a big deal. The hens trap much faster than the cocks so if they home together the hens nearly always beat the cocks.

    Another great live stream!
    I have a couple of questions for you...
    Do you think it's easier to race with a larger or small team?
    I currently race a very small team, around 4-6 birds, when most in my club will send 20-30.
    I believe I fly the shortest in my club, but find my birds are well behind the rest of the club and fed! Sometimes even by a couple of hours in a short 60-80mile race!! 😮
    Would I be in the right place thinking this is likely conditioning? Or are they being dragged all over due to only having a few birds?

      My pigeons are nervous and fairly wild because I do not spend much time with them. I also run them in the basket for training and crating so they are rarely touched. you mentioned using wood pellets on the floor of your loft.
    How long do you leave the pellets down before cleaning them up and replacing them?
    Seems like if you replace them every few days it would get expensive because the pellets are $10 a bag. It takes 2 bags to cover the floor.
    I calculated it and it would cost another couple hundred bucks a month.
    I guess my question is , is that what you spend on your each month.
