I'm guessing you're talking about the Bomb Glitch. For some reason, laying a bomb, moving vertically, and screen transitioning all on the same frame causes the game to freak out and play certain "cutscenes" or "events". In this case, the event that was triggered was picking up the heartpiece. (Funnily enough, doing a neat jump to get that HP isn't hard, but 1 second slower) In other categories, we abuse this glitch a lot more to sing to the walrus without Marin, open turtle rock without an ocarina, open the Egg without an ocarina, and complete D7 without picking up the ball once.
Hey. I got LADX on 3ds virtual console. I can't seem to do the super jump. I downloaded a gba emu and downloaded with LADX v 1.0 and I can do super jump easily now. Are you not able to do it on 3DS VC?
Super jumps are in the 1.2 versions but do seem harder to pull off. They also are shorter, so not all the jumps work in 1.2. So has Zorlax said, 1.2 isn't really viable.
It's actually pretty complicated how it works, but basically what happens is this: When you play the ocarina, the game skips ahead 1 frame (for some reason). In the Ganon fight, our goal is to play the ocarina on the exact frame a bat moves, which skips the frame that gives the bat the cue to move. Skipping that frame and that cue causes a bat to get frozen in place. With that bat frozen in place we continue on with the fight, killing Ganon and Lanmola (the ball thing). When this happens, the game does a check and says, "Turn any enemy on the screen into the final boss (Dethyl)," which makes sense because the game expects there only to be one "enemy" on the screen. SO, both Lanmola (the boss), and the bat get turned into Dethyl. The bat, however, has 0 hp. As the bat turns into Dethyl, it dies. Having (any) Dethyl die causes the stairs to spawn, and thus finishes the game. I do a weird series of pauses and maps to find the frame which the bat moves. This whole process saves at most 5s from perfect RNG. :P
Lyanhyrt It was an old glitch hunter by the name of Wanglicious. I will never understand what goes through glitch hunters' minds to be honest. Like, Flockdjr and Greentunic though it would be a good idea to mash bombs in random areas, and then we got bomb glitch :P

3DS VC is the 1.2 version of the game. In non 1.0 versions, you can't Super Jump and you can't Bomb Glitch. Thus, 3DS runs aren't currently viable :\

That's complicated alright, but now I know what to look for. Side question who even would think of doing this.
