Hi Katie! I’m an old lady from Riverview, Fl (but in my mind I’m still 20) and I’ve been crocheting for about 50 years, primarily baby blankets and beanies. I can’t tell you how thrilled I am to have seen so many young women and men crocheting. I really thought I was a dying art. I recently started making plushies cuz I thought they were so cute and would help pass the time (I’m also a paper crafter). My first one was your bee. My husband stole it immediately. Lol! Anyhow, I’ve been posting the ones I’ve made on my channel and Instagram and immediately started getting orders. OMG, I never planned to sell them, but hey, extra $$$, more yarn right? I know the plaza well where you are selling your items, just drove past there today. Anyhow, thinking of doing a small fair or market in the fall, but it scares me, so I’m not sure. Keep up your great work, I really enjoy watching your channel. Hugs ❤️🦋❤️🦋
My mom also makes baby stuff! I’m 14 will be 15 in 3 weeks and I have my own little business crocheting I set up at markets selling me stuff two times a month and I love doing it! It’s my favorite thing to do
I haven't announced on my channel yet, but I am getting some of my items into a store now too!!! You were my inspo to pitch the idea to the lady about it! Glad to hear you're doing well with it too! As a fellow Floridian, I hope to check out the store at some point!
The store that I sell at uses consigner access powered by traxia. When I am put my items I can put the name and all the information in so I'm able to tell which item sells. I don't know if there is the ability to give your store feedback but that might be something you want to mention to them because it is a great tool for the seller knowing what sells and what to restock on.
Hi Katie. This was such interesting information. I hope you are able to get the percentages straightened out. Thank you for sharing this. I have been so curious about selling my plushies and some other makes. Congrats on your success. Have fun at the events that you mentioned.
Seems like you're doing well. Yay!! My sales at mine are picking up and I had a great commission for May. I find it challenging to keep track of my items. I kinda do it to replenish best sellers but I like to add new things. I try to get into mine at least once a week. I am a slacker sometimes. Lol. I also got a larger space at mine. Oh almost forgot. Pics help keep track. I take one when I check in and one after I restock so I can compare to my sheet where I list my items. Hope that helps. Thanks for your update. I was curious
Hi Katie, if the store owner had done the 85-15 split in May and deducted the $20 rent, you would have only received $43.50 instead of the $45 that you received. Maybe the lady at the store was being nice and giving you the 60-40 so you would make a little more. 😊
Hi Katie! Do you remit your sales tax from selling in a store or does the store do that on your behalf? I was thinking about doing this at a local stores too, and was curious if you need a vendor license or to remit taxes! Thanks!!!😁 love your videos
Hi, Katie! Great video. I do want to mention- you used the phrase "she wouldn't gyp me like that" and that's a problematic phrase. The term "gyp" comes from "gypsy", which is a slur to describe the Romani people. That phrase was meant to imply negative things about the character of the Romani people (that they would try to cheat anyone they could) and is considered an insult. Just thought it was worth pointing out.

How much did you make from the store in sales?
I'm on the fence with selling at a store. Maybe just need to find the right fit.

The store should assume that responsibility
@@stephaniekilpatrick1028 thank you so much! I think I’m gonna go for it😁
Yes! That is normal the case! And so glad you enjoy my videos! ❤️
