In this video I go through the process of creating a collage animation. A lot of cool details and textures in there but my favourite has to be the “hand drawn” elements. These types of animations are always fun to make and a great way to play around with colour palettes, textures, pacing, and fonts.

Collage animation is about cutting up, scanning in, and then animating like crazy, color correction, voila. I have done a lot of collage animation before

Can someone tell me how did he add different wiggle to every letter in his chapter intros??? Like the "First scene" "last scene". I couldn't understand that.
Add a position animator to the text -> add a wiggly selector -> play around with the position to get a subtle look -> add a random() expression to the random seed

Printed out the photos, cut it up, crumbled it and took photos of it, then removed the background in photoshop. I show it in my Ali Abdaal video

Thank you! I'm using this tutorial as apart of my Video Production Exam. One question though, how do I import the text (Evolution of Cameras) directly from Illustrator to After Effects?
There are few ways of doing this. I use overlord, which is a paid plugin but a huge timesaver. Otherwise you can save it to your asset library, import ai files directly etc

Thank you! It's definitely a fun style to work with! It depends honestly. Some projects may be hourly some a flat fee. For something this short/simple I'd probably go somewhere between $500-$1000
