Not sure that serves a frequency-cancelling function (Helmholtz). Normally, that's a chamber that induces out-of-phase sound at a 90-deg angle to the exhaust. This appears to quiet by a combination of pressurization and sound packing. Sending gases thru the muffler body (and forcing it thru multiple smaller holes) MAY increase back pressure (one way to quiet exhaust) while also routing gases through a mini resonator. NOTE: Gases don't run to the valve, bounce-back and reroute into the muffler. Gases would pressurized the "stub" beyond the muffler inlet when the valve is closed -- thereby forcing gases to take the path into the muffler. Because that's not a smooth entry (turn) into the main body of the muffler, there would be some losses there too. Of course, that's typical of any valved muffler on the quiet leg.
Interesting.... So basically when valve is open, it is nothing different than just straight pipe? I thought corsa will have their unique sound... But it seems it will be same sound as just muffler delete? (taking about valve open sound)
@@ZtZoomin you had non NPP CORSA extreme axlebaxk with your current catback system, right? Comparing corsa extreme catback w/ none npp axle back Vs Corsa extreme catback w/ NPP axleback (valve open) We're you able to tell the difference?? Any tone changes???
@@ZtZoomin that’s awesome to hear because all over the forums you can’t find a clean answer for that question! I’m glad I watched through this whole video haha
I just got on to your chanel and your doing right man. I have ordered a 2022 2ss camaro and its is being built this month august. I am not racing my ss but would like to know if you have installed side rocker panels on your car and company has good parts to buy from. Thank you for sharing your video showing. From ohio Aloha bro .
Well (2024) they have a sport and an extreme muffler now which version is that please ...? (sorry I know this is an old post) - ok so here’s an update the sport and extreme are the same muffler what makes the difference is the addition of the double X pipe that changes it to an extreme-but same muffler straight from Corsa tech
That sucks, I’ve had nothing but good experiences. Every issue I did have they took care of immediately. Try reaching out again, might get someone different on the phone. In my experience they always stand by their product
@@ZtZoomin bro I placed two orders with them. 1 for an intake for my Camaro and a second a week later for their cat back exhaust. After 5 weeks they shipped me the wrong item number intake. I called them they said ok we will send u a second one return the first. They sent me a second one wrong again. Meanwhile they refused to ship my second order because of their mistakes with the first one. I waited 7 weeks spent over 2k with them and had to file PayPal claims and won both claims to get my money back. I returned both intakes and went with borla and CAI. I dealt with Corsa on the phone like 10 times dude. They're spiteful and unethical. They screw up and take it out on the customer.

Nice, did you get the phastek ones? Someone was saying they no longer make the GM ZL1 tail lights. I hear good things about phastek’s tho
@@ZtZoomin oooo you will have to see I’ll be filming over the weekend 😉
Did you have to send a receipt for the new muffler?
Thats a great example of a helmholtz resonator and thats what stops the drone 👏 great job

Thats awesome! I just ordered a Corsa NPP for my ZL1 and I can't wait to have it installed on my cammed ZL1!!!
Did Corsa fix the valve rattle and spring issues on these npps?
I have that exact exhaust and I’m wondering if you happen to have a video of the railing because mine is making weird sound.
How you get corsa in cali? Ive been trying to but dont know how
Thanks for making this video. Not quite what I expected to see!

It definitely has corsa’s unique sound. All Corsa extreme exhaust’s are basically straight through

exactly .. the corsa unique sound is about that X pipe .. nothing else
I can imagine exhaust gases going in there like in PacMan arcade. Must be massive restriction while closed.

they've always have sport and extreme. this was their new (at the time) valved exhaust, which is neither.
