I got this album when it first came out and have been a Purple fan ever since!!! This is Deep Purple at the top of their game!! I got to see them in the 80s at the Long Beach Arena, southern California, when Perfect Strangers came out
This was the first live album I ever bought and no other band ever captured this level of energy live. The back and forth with Ian Gillan and Ritchie Blackmore is so one of a kind! Just amazing. The rest of the album is awesome, too. Glad you tried this out, Elok, and glad you loved it. As always, rock on!
They played sort of the same set-list in Houston, Texas also. I was there at that concert as a very young Teenager. They often extended some of their songs which made it very enjoyable. Glad your back to DP and Keep up the great work!!! 😀😉😘😋
Thank you for a superb reaction, I love that you let the music play with minimal interruptions, you should also check out the reunion album Perfect Strangers from 1984 and also the John Lord farewell tour from when he left the band.

Hi, Elok. Made in Japan was not planned as a live album. The band went to play a series of concerts on Japan and the sound engineer recorded several of this concerts without the band's knowledge. When they return to England and listened to the recorded material, the band were amazed at the sound quality. The rest is history. Hugs from Brazil.
