I do EVERYTHING you talked about. It's so nice to know there is someone else like me. My friends (and some of my family) think I am weird. I started being frugal out of necessity, but now I really enjoy the "game" of finding ways to save money. I'm so glad I found your videos.
Love the idea of no spend Sunday! Seriously I felt like growing up this was something we always did. We went to church, came home for a homemade lunch, even if it was just sandwiches or something easy and napped and rested until we went to evening service. So easy, so simple. I’m going to try going back to this. A day a rest….ah so refreshing!
I got rid of a wall unit in my living room..my living room looked bare afterwards..I contemplated buying a few things then just ended up taking furniture/pictures from other rooms in my house and rearranged things. I love it and it didnt cost me anything.😊
Great😊 1 of my favorite things to do on a Stay-At-Home-Day is not No Shower, but a Lonnng Shower or a Lonnng Relaxing Bath, especially a Morning Bath with Lavender Epson Salts & Candles Lit. Then I turn it into a Spa Day with a Self Mani-Pedi, Warm Body Oil Rub, Then Repin My Hair Up, Put on favorite Gown or Yoga Wear, Sip Tea, Read, Play Board Games or Word Search, Watch Movies etc. But a Long Shower or Bath is #1.
For meal planning, we have two teenage girls, so I ask them to pick 1 meal a week they want, and they are in charge of choosing a day to cook that meal. This is giving them skills for meal.planning for their future, I also let them do the groceries shopping, so they have to make sure they have what they need for their weekly meall. Can't stress how helpful this has been for me, but I love how much more confident they are becoming at meal planning, cooking and are so much more appreciative of someone else's effort for preparing dinner.
Alexa You are doing them girls a favor, pat yourself on the back, I should've taught my grown children how to do for theirselves instead of doing everything for them....regret it now
Another few tips. 1.save receipts 2.save bank ,credit statements 3.save bills 4.really look at mortgage/lease,insurance so you dont pay for things you either get free,or dont use 5.shop around for the best price/value. 6.before you go grocery shopping, really look and see what you have on hand already.this saves because 1.not buying multiples 2.no waste. Another tip. Cook large batches of food.break down into portion sized containers.label.freeze.
I've been cleaning a drawer or shelf a day. I have found a bunch of products that I got for Christmas which I can use up rather than buy from the store. Feels like being gifted over again!
Awesome tips thank you , i am a frugal person myself and I finally reached the point where I am saving 80% of my monthly income . I feel so happy about that. I finally started my youtube channel to motivate others. Thank u for inspiration 💓
Kate ...In the kitchen that’s where you can save sooo much money! Meal planning is key! It doesn’t take long, you simply look through your fridge freezer and pantry and come up with a list of what you have on hand so you can plan meals using those ingredients and then on your grocery list the only thing you need is what you are missing to fill in the gaps. Fetch rewards is awesome! Receipt hog... I’ve never heard of it. Thanks. Kayden is adorable!
I do my monthly budget a little differently. I get my money once a month, then I deduct the monthly bills, any extra bills ( like my upcoming emissions and car reg., annual home owners insurance, and bi yearly car ins.) amount I put into savings, then I take what's left and divide it by the number of days until I get my monthly deposit again. This way I know how much I have to spend each day, and can play around with it if needed. Oh I have to shower, put make up on and dress every single day. It makes me feel good about myself and I'm ready for anything. I also check my finances every single day. So happy for you about the huge success of the last video ! tfs 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
I do almost the same...just divide my leftover money by 4.5 weeks. I couldn't understand why it never worked with 4 weeks and was always coming up short. That extra half week covers all pay periods :)
Routine I like to go to Safeway and click Just4you digital coupons with a grocery list before grocery shopping. Save a lot on food and gas. I get free stuff too
I love how easy these financial tips are to listen to. I love the way you approach personal finance and how you present yourself. You’re really easy to watch and you seem super down to earth. Thank you.
This is one of my favorite comments ever. That is SO kind of you! I'm so glad you are here. Thank you for taking the time to share this. I appreciate it more than you know:)
It’s actually a blessing right now cause I don’t even wear makeup when I go out cause my face mask covers from my nose down and my sunglasses cover my eyes and my hair covers my forehead.
I do wear eye make-up, buy eye powder at Dollar store, and also wear mascara because your eyes show your smile! I also wear lipstick because it keeps your lips from drying out. You can also use vaseline on your lips, cheap.
The concept of a no-spend day is a really great one, and i'm thinking the more days in a row in which you don't spend anything, the more beneficial those days are. Now I am thinking...my current circumstances see me only doing offline spending on a Monday. Which means there's four working days in a row for my credit card company to process the payments and start them showing on my account. I could start only paying for things online on tuesdays, then the same applies to that except three days. Then I wouldn't be spending anything five days a week, and could check my accounts on Sundays, and be very confident all my card payments have been processed and I know what I have got before my next round of payments. In the other five days of the week, I can be leaving things in online carts and baskets. Sometimes when you do that they email you vouchers or offer you a better price on the item, which would be an added bonus. #brainwave
Kate I've started to check my account almost daily thanks to you🌷 When I see the expense I'm looking for the receipt to give whatever purchase back. I sometimes do impulse buy and when I see the number of my money going it's turning me to take my money back. Thank you🌷
I am a very frugal person..I became a widow 15 months ago.....you are great... I am 66yrs living alone now in my own home ....together we got our house 45 years ago....I am financially good ...but could do with all your advice...thanks dear....I love talking about how to save money....you are doing a great job 👏 👍
"Routine" My closest Walmart, Aldi, Save-A-Lot stores are an hour away from me. I've gotten into the habit of using the pickup option. You CANNOT believe the amount of money I have saved using the pickup option... I start a week out because you have lots of time to change your order or add to it if you need to but in the end I still save a ton of money because I'm not in the store seeing something and thinking, "gee I don't know when I'll get back here again I better get that"... and hiking up my total. Plus with the pickup I avoid grumpy people hahaha! You and your little sweetheart have a great weekend! I really enjoy everything you put out there Thank you!!
Love your videos. You are so fun to watch! Even if I stay home all day, I still shower. I saved by not going out, so I "treat" myself to a nice hot shower! :)
You do not have to shower everyday if you do not sweat; every other day is sufficient. In the 17th, 18th, 19th centuries ppl only bathe once a week and this was done in a creek, lake, river or a big tin tub because that was all there was to use. Ppl did not have running water in their homes and their toilets were outdoors! Can you imagine going to the toilet outdoors in all kinds of weather?????!!!!
I usually like to skip showering if I’m staying home all day, but if I want to treat myself to a nice shower (hot if I have a headache or sore muscles, cold if it’s summer and I just want to cool off) without having to do my hair I use a shower cap. I only started using one in the past five years or so because, as a single mom, I feel like doing my hair every day is a pain!
We are busy as everyone is, so I decided to create a weekly meal plan. Every monday we eat pasta and have chicken for dinner, every tuesday is chicken for lunch and fish for dinner and so on. Sometimes we change dates and sometimes we skip something and have a sandwich but we follow it 90%. It is super easy to follow a diet, to make sure we eat enough of this or that (like fish) and grocery shopping is super easy. Also we use an app called Bring. You can jot down anything you run out of or anything you think during the week so when you go grocery shopping you forget nothing!
Car maintenance tip..You can easily replace filters, and wiper blades. Dealers charge big $$ for air and cabin filters. So easy. UA-cam has great videos. I got 2 prices to replace spark plug; $320 and $380! Watched several tutorials on UA-cam. Plugs and 2 small pouches of special grease. Took me just over 2 hours. My cost, $30 . Savings, $350!!
Routine. No spend Sunday, good idea 👍 Got me thinking, could be applied to any day, although I don't think I spend most days 🤣 Being intentional is the value I got from this one Kate. Thanks. Hi Kaden.
A few months ago, I realized that the best grocery-shopping day for me is TUESDAY! Reason#1 - my local grocery gets delivery on Monday so by Tuesday the shelves have been stocked as full as they are going to get. Reason #2 - sales start on Wednesday and so I have a whole week to coordinate my needs/wants with the sales. Often, I shop only every other week because I already have everything I need for the coming week in the house and there isn't anything on sale I want to pantry-prep.
Routine. I check my bank accounts and retirement accounts daily. Thought I was being a nerd :-). I usually pick one weekend day where I stay home too. Have never used an app to save money, may have to check into that. Thanks for the tips.
I write down a food list for 2 weeks and shop based on that. Most meals I make are for two days. Stock up on sale items as it saves you in the long run. Use coupons and rebate apps.
It is part of the practice of the Jewish Sabbath to abstain from handling financial matters. No work means no work for the observant Jew- A weekly vacay, whoo!
routines! another good tip I've figured out is not to bring my wallet if I don't need it. for example, my post office is in a small gas station a short walk away. if I don't need anything from the store I won't bring my wallet then I can't talk myself into buying a treat.
I love grocery pick up!! It allows you to easily look at your total and you impulse buy less. Congrats Kaden on your lost tooth and you have a great week too! 💙💙
The closest grocery store is about 25 minutes from me, so I have always shopped just once a week to not waste all that time and gas. We have a few convenience stores in town but I pretend they're not there so I don't get tempted to pop in for this or that and pay their really inflated prices. I have have always kept a decent pantry so we almost never run out of commonly used foods and ingredients. If I forgot something for a recipe, oh well, have to wait to make it or substitute and that's that. That has saved me a TON of money over the years.
I put make up on once a week only if I will be out. I put a shower cap on ( showing my age) if I need a quick shower but don’t feel like dealing with my hair which is long and only needs washed twice a week.
Oh my goodness he’s getting so big!!!! Thank you for this video!!! I needed a few reminders since FINALLY going back to work last week!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻 Hugs and kisses!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Add Rice or Pasta To Make a larger Amount. or Warm Bread Rolls.

I’m glad I am not the only person who checked there bank accounts everyday. I was worried I was being obsessive 😂
You are NOT alone! :)
I started doing it because I have experienced having fraudulent activity on my account.
Same here!!!!
I am in too 🙈
Ditto!
Routine! I really like the idea of 'no spend Sundays'... such a less-pressure concept than no-spend weeks or no-spend months. Sarah
Such a cute little boy, great tips also, thanks Kate 👍🏾
I love no spend Sundays! It’s a long deep sigh of contentment and relaxation
YASS! LOVE IT!

Yes dear, we were doing this from 30 years ago!
I LOVE the no spending Sunday! I’m always looking for ways to cut back and feel I’ve heard them all, BUT this was a new GREAT idea!
Tuesday and Thursday will be my no spend days moving forward. Thanks

We got our electric bill down to $56for the month. Tacked old blankets over our window.turn things off.it was almost $300 a couple months ago.
awesome! Ours is always 300.00! What else did you do??? I would love to pay 56.00. Thanks
I called the electric company and found out what the avg was. Now I pay that each month. It makes budgeting easier for me.
When I get a day that I can stay home. I do the same thing where I stay in my pajamas. ❤️ the kitty.😀
Please more money routines thanks
I like the no spend Sunday idea! I've never heard of this before. Ive just subscribed.
Welcome to the family Angela! I'm so glad you are here!

Great tips for saving money. I use Dave Ramsey's every dollar for zero based budget.
Check out YNAB.com; lots of great information. Especially if you use credit cards.
yes I love Rakuten, and anyone that doesnt believe it , they send you a check quarterly I think , only if you have more than $5.
I write down a food list for 2 weeks and shop based on that. Most meals I make are for two days. Stock up on sale items as it saves you in the long run. Use coupons and rebate apps.
Taking Sundays off financially is interesting. I can be bad about going to lunch after church. 😳
Then maybe Saturdays? Or Wednesdays? Nothing ever happens on Wednesdays! LOL!
Love this idea!
Well I give money to my church every Sunday.
You could take another no spend day instead.
