I have this guitar in the flat black version. Got it for a home practice guitar for out in between gigs. I really like this guitar. In fact it is so nice we've already decided to add it to a few of our live songs. It's all stock nothing added or taken away. Plus it's a blast to play as much as my expensive guitars are. Great video!!!!
I think with an ebony fretboard this guitar would be much more stunning and pleasing to the eyes. Its already gorgeous. I've been doing alot of moderation work myself with my ESP LTD m-10. It's an entry level guitar much like this one and I KNOW I can do simply swaps to make it play like a guitar atleast in the $600 price point.
I already have an RG Standard (Indonesia) but bought this Gio because it looked so cool (plus it was hardtail which I love). When it arrived I was surprised by how good it was. It came with really thin strings though (I think they're 8's) while the Ibanez website claims it comes with 10's. No big deal.
Just ordered this from sweetwater.. Get it tomorrow and cant wait. Love how this guitar looks. Sounds good too. Answered my question if it's good for metal..
Yeah it is. Don't own one but have played one. The Infinity R Pick-Ups are super versatile. Good for everything from clean to metal. Great action on this gem to.
Which ones? I had bought one but had trouble staying in tune. Also, might just be me but the volume knob is too close to the bridge for me. Kind of gets in the way when palm muted picking.
Had my tax refund for less than two hours. Bought a blem version of this plus some other goodies. Can't wait to get this guitar and set it up for drop C.
@@ocbb4441 Mine came. I really dig it. I bought a blem model but I'll be darned to heck if I can find the blem! Today I will put it through it's paces while my gf is at the store with her mom. Then I will spend the rest of the day with my honey. She thinks my guitar's sexy...
Joshua Durand jheeze mine came too I love the neck and fretboard man feels so easy to play, I have a Bc rich warlock maggot man and this feels on the same level, keep rockin champ
@@ocbb4441 I just played it, for a roughly $200 (USD) guitar it sure plays like buttah. I sounded great and it was so easy to move up and down the fretboard and I came to realize the tones I hear in my head are the equipment. I dialed in a slammin' metal tone and rocked out!!! My favorite feature is the 5 way selector switch for the pickups. This thing rocks, looks good, and is/was an amazing value. *ANYONE READING THIS*: Get one. No, get two, you'll want another one for backup, lol!!!
Was thinking about getting this particular Ibanez, however, by comparison of a few vids it sounded to me that the Strat HH affinity series which cost a little bit more not only sounded better, but offers a better option for those who prefer a middle experience of rock and blues. Anybody else have thoughts on this? I'm still considering between them.
That's a pick guard to protect against hitting the body with the pick. It's just to stop you scratching your guitar. If you mean the plastic that is on the pick guard then yes, peel that off.
Doesn't matter. Any guitar you get, pay for a professional setup and the action will always be nice. Never just go stock. It can always be improved by a pro
@@gatomeong absolutely no problem. I'm glad I could help you make a wise decision. I don't know if you're familiar with the infinity2 pickups or not but they are some of the best stock pickups I have ever played as far as Rock and Metal goes. Seriously.
Dan Lindsey why? ( “by a long shot” !? though.. 🤣😝 ). a bit exaggerated as an affirmation. look, its a personal taste looking only the aesthetics by the most part and other minor differences. *plus this one seems to be painted really deep , with more layers, 2cm of varnish black color , the body wood doesn’t even breathe. vT Frey I’m gonna get this as my first guitar (I’m a bassist wanting to just diversify a bit) and my plan is to modify over time with some Seymour Duncan’s and maybe a Floyd, so a 300$ guitar becomes as good as a 700$ guitar. Glad to see my plan might work

Does it have the same truss rod cover as this one? The fancy one?

how do you like it? looking to buy one (as a beginner) and i can’t decide between an ibanez like this or a fender affinity hss strat
I'm really not crazy about the pickups in mine. Prolly gonna replace those and modify it for active pickups, other than that playability is great.
Bought it today love it
you change the pickups and you've got yourself a great guitar !

Although, to be fair, delivery guy threw the guitar over the fence lol

@@クリッ-p4u Yes I agree about the volume knob and as for the pickups, look for DiMarzio but depends on what sound you're looking for.

Ibanez grgr131ex or ibanez grg131dx. Which one is better?
Just put some Dimarzio pickup and this guitar will Rock !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
10mm Ernie ball slinky strings, and DiMarzio x2n pickups passive and tuner locks and you'll have the grungiest setup. Thing will hit god tier with it.

Can I put Dmarzio blaze pickup for this model?
Is lemon oild is safe for this guitars fretboard?
While standard lemon oil may cause damage to a fretboard over time, a specific fretboard conditioner would definitely be safe for this fretboard.
Yes
